The Rejected Mate Chapter 39

I left the pack mansion feeling uneasy. The tension between Lucas, Jessica, and me was growing stronger by the day. I needed some time to clear my head, so I went back to my condo.

As I entered my room, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. This was my safe haven, my sanctuary away from all the chaos and drama of the pack. But as soon as I closed the door, I heard a low growling sound coming from the corner of the room. My heart raced as I realized that someone else was in my condo with me.

I quickly turned into my wolf form, ready to defend myself, but as I lunged towards the source of the growling, I was met with a fierce resistance. The other wolf was just as powerful as I was, and we started to fight fiercely.

As we battled, I realized that this was no ordinary wolf. I tried to fight back, but the person was too strong, and I got badly injured. I was knocked out.

I woke up with a pounding headache and groaned as I tried to move my arms, only to find them bound tightly to the cold concrete floor. Panic set in as I frantically looked around, trying to get my bearings. Where was I? How did I get here?

That's when I noticed the chain wrapped tightly around my neck, preventing me from shifting into my wolf form. Fear crept in as I struggled against my restraints, trying to break free.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching, and my heart rate increased. I braced myself for the worst as the figure came into view.

"Blake?" I whispered, barely able to recognize him through the dim lighting. "What the hell is going on?"

Blake chuckled, the sound sending shivers down my spine. "Oh, Sophia, I've missed you," he said, crouching down beside me.

"What do you want from me?" I demanded, struggling against the chains.

Blake chuckled. "Oh, don't be so dramatic, Sophia. I just wanted to have a little chat with you."

I snarled at him. "Let me go, Blake. You have no right to do this to me."

"Oh, but I do, my dear," he replied, smirking. "You see, I've been watching you, and I think you could be quite useful to me."

I glared at him, still trying to break free. "I'll never help you, Blake. You're nothing but trouble."

He raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we?"

I knew I had to get out of there, but with the chains restraining me, I was powerless. I needed to come up with a plan, and fast. But for now, all I could do was wait and hope someone would come to my rescue. I had been there when Blake finally returned. But when he did, I knew it was going to be bad.

I tried to struggle out of the chains that bound me, but it was no use. Blake just stood there, grinning from ear to ear like a madman.

"I can't believe this," I spat at him. "After everything you did to me, you still have the audacity to kidnap me?"

Blake just chuckled. "Oh, Sophia. You should know by now that I always get what I want, even if I have to resort to extreme measures."

I glared at him, my eyes burning with anger. "What do you want from me?"

Blake's grin widened. "I want to watch you suffer, my dear. And I want to see the look on Derick's face when he realizes that his precious little wolf is in my possession."

I tried to hide the fear that was creeping up inside of me. "You won't get away with this," I spat. "Derick will come for me."

"Oh, I know he will," Blake said, pulling out his phone. "In fact, I'm counting on it."

He dialed a number and after a few rings, Derick's voice filled the room. "Blake. What do you want?"

Blake's smile widened. "Oh, nothing much. Just a little exchange. I have something you want, and you have something I want."

"What are you talking about?"

"I have your little wolf here with me," Blake said, gesturing towards me. "And I know you want her back. But I won't give her back until you bring me Mia."

Derick was silent for a moment. "I don't know where Mia is."

Blake's smile turned into a sneer. "Don't play dumb with me, Derick. I know she's in the den of the Black Bird Wolves pack. Go get her and bring her to me, and I'll give you back your precious little wolf."

Blake paced back and forth in front of me, still on the phone with Derick. "I don't care where you get her from, just bring her to me," Blake growled into the phone. "And if you don't, you'll regret it."

I watched Blake, his eyes dark and filled with malice. It was clear that he didn't care about me at all. I was just a pawn in his twisted game.

As Blake ended the call, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Derick was coming for me, and I knew he would do everything in his power to rescue me.

But my hope was short-lived, as Blake turned back to me with a cruel smirk on his face. "You really thought Derick was going to come for you?" he laughed. "He doesn't care about you, Sophia. You're nothing to him."

I tried to block out Blake's words, but they cut deep. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Blake was using me as leverage to get to Mia. And Derick was going to fall right into his trap.

"You're a monster," I spat at Blake, my voice shaking with anger. "After everything you did to me on our engagement day, how could you do this to me again?"

Blake just laughed. "Oh, Sophia, you really don't understand, do you? You were never meant to be with me. I never loved you, and with that, we will never going to be able to be together."

I struggled against the chains again, trying to free myself. But it was no use. Blake just laughed and walked away, leaving me alone in the dark warehouse with my thoughts and fears.
