Ryan POV:-
Rebecca took us out of the cemetery, she seemed so infuriated, I have never seen her this furious before, it's like she is burning in a fiery fire.
I didn't stop her or try to talk it out because the turn of life we are on is because of her father.
“How dare he.” She growled, taking me with her.
That her father is the one who caused this much devastation… to all of us. If he didn't do it, things would have been different, all of us could be happy… except for Rebecca.
No, she could also be happy, she can live her life happily with that guy who wrote her those notes.
But deep down, at this moment, I don’t want to imagine her future with him, not with anyone… except me.
“Rebecca.” I tried to call.
“Not now, Ryan.” She hissed.
James Morris' one mistake ruined four lives.
We walked out as she ran her hands in her hair, making them slightly messy. She exhaled in frustration and kicked the fence,
"FUCK YOU!!" She shouted, showing an immense level of hatred.
“Rebe-” I looked at her, feeling compassion for her, being so vulnerable. She curled her hands in a fist and cursed again.
"You are a fucking asshole!"
She let out an empty yell, her eyes dried out already as she can't produce anymore tears.
“It’s okay.” I whispered, resting my hand on her shoulder but she removed them.
She raised her head and looked at the sky, her hairs covered her face as she began to laugh mockingly. The sound made my heart race. My lips parted to soothe her but to no avail.
"You know what Ryan? It was raining that day.. Everything was so quiet.. And then.. a ravage occurred… just like thunder.. And I.. "
She then turned to me, rage flashing in her sapphire gaze but it was direct to her, she was angry at herself, she hated herself.
‘What broke you that much?’
I narrowed my eyes at her, feeling sad for her.
"I watched it.. With my own eyes.. I.. I held my hand out to her.. For her to hold it.. But she.."
She lowered her head as I took a step towards her, wanting to console her because I can't watch her like this anymore.
"She.. Jumped out of the roof.. Right in front of me.. "
She finished her sentence in a croaked voice, I stopped in my tracks as I was left staggered, I couldn't comprehend her words.
“W-What?” Astounded by her words, I felt like her pain reached me and I can feel how hard it must be for her to witness it.
My heart felt heavy, a feeling of walking on thorns. I finally understood what she meant when she said her life ended years ago.
“You gotta be kidding me…” I whispered, horrified to fathom her suffering.
“That’s what I said.” She laughed hollowly, the woe had already consumed her heart. How hard it must be for her to bear it.
She must be heartbroken.. Her anguish.. It's devastating.
“Oh, Rebecca..”
I engulfed Rebecca in a hug as if I will never let her go.
She held my shirt, burying her face on my chest, biting her lips, not wanting to cry anymore.
“You are so strong to bear all this on your own.” I whispered, encouraging her with empty words.
Because she suffered from it, no one could understand it. I cannot imagine it but all I could do is to give her a word that could cease her pain.
I rubbed her back and kissed her neck in a soothing way. She inhaled as I moved my hand to her hair and let her relax in my embrace.
"It's okay… I am here.. It will all pass." I assured her.
She sniffed and whispered sadly, "What if it can't?"
I moved my head and looked at her. I gave her a faint smile and replied, "I will make it." I promised her. The words I wanted to comply with all my might.
She lowered her gaze as tears pricked in the corner of her eyes. I moved my hands to her cheeks and wiped her tears with my thumb.
“I will, at all cost.”
I caress her affectionately, wanting to show her that I am here for her and will not leave her.
I leaned in slowly to her face, her grip on my shirt tightened, her breath became heavy, a look of distress flashed in her eyes.
“To return the happiness he purloined.”
My eyes traveled down and stopped at her dried lips, quivering slightly. I leaned in as Rebecca raised her gaze and looked at me and whispered.
"Kissing me can't fix anything Ryan."
I smiled and moved to her ears, my lips brushed against her skin, her shivers were felt by me. She can't push me anymore.
My smile turned into a smirk, my one hand traveled to her neck while my other hand moved to her waist.
"But it can surely give you tranquility, Rebecca."
A soft voice escaped her lips, uneven breath, trembles of needs and a havoc to desire serenity. I know it, only ‘I’ can make her feel this.
“And I honestly have no idea what extent I could reach for your serenity.” I said sincerely.
“Don’t do this to me, Ryan.” She whispered, losing her breath by the extremity of our moment.
“ ‘You’ don't do this to ‘me’, Rebecca.” I responded in the same tone, leaving her speechless, colliding my tenderness with hers.
I moved my head and kissed her cheeks. She let out a deep breath as her grip loosened and she took a step back.
I tugged the strand of her hair behind her ear and smiled, "Our flight is in a few hours. Do you want to stay here or do you wanna go back to the hotel?" I asked.
She turned her head back to the cemetery as a smile crept upon her lips.
She lowered her head and replied, "I'll stay here.. If you can't find me here, I'll be at the park nearby."
