When Mafia's Mate Chapter 24

When the men entered Jenn Guero's compound she wasn't found in. Her door was opened and the wind was blowing through the curtains that look like buttons in a seamless dress. She had gotten the information they were coming and quickly she moved into her blue Peugeot and drove off. She wanted to be safe and she knew why they were looking for her. She helped them nab Alex by telling most of his plans.

She drove past the airport knowing their men will be there waiting for her. She didn't pick up her passport and not even her clothes and her new boyfriend, Mathew won't want her near his house. They fought last week when Jenn was caught making love to his friend. Catherine never knew this side of her. She never really talked about herself with her. She never told her she's a nymph. She only knew she do away with her boyfriends a week or two into their dating. Probably the poet's lasted longer.

"Damn. She is not here." The man said turning away the beddings. They stumbled out scanning the area for traces of her germ cloud. They found it. They knew she's driven away twenty minutes before they got there.

"Get in the car," F12 said looking at the sky. "We need to move faster. She went towards the airport."

"Yes, sir. The tracker is leading us to her."

"Just drive, wolf. I don't want any Intel. Just drive and get her."

They came in two Mountain jeeps and a customized Lamborghini. F12 pinned his phone to his ears shouting as the car swerved into a corner. The others moved behind him.

"Sir, we are getting closer to her."

"What are you saying?"

"She'll be nabbed soon. We had some difficulties."

"Alright. Make sure you get her."

"Alright, sir."

The car closes in on her. She was driving into a forest road when they cut up with her. She panicked and jumped out of the car. She rolled and bumped her face on a chestnut. She fainted.

"Grab her quickly," F12 said. He got out of the car and walked up to her. His men already have her in their hands. She looked dead but still breathing. Blood sizzle out of her head from a tiny gouge on her forehead.

"Give me the shot."

She injected her using a penlike syringe and shuffled her back into his men's hands.

"Take her with you. We are going back to the lab now."

She turned on the beep in her car and that only reach Catherine. They both agreed to use it when one of them is in distress and now it turned out Jenn needed it.

Catherine was in bed thinking when she saw it. Her world lately hasn't been what she wanted though she's optimistic and working towards inclusion. Seen the day she went to see Sam and got the news of her sister's plot, she hasn't been out.

The beep came in. She reached for her shirt but was puzzled. Since they agreed to use it six years ago none of them used it once but now Jenn used it. She stood up, grabbed her gun then dropped it. She called her phone, it rang but she was not picking up.

"Aiden," she shouted, "we have to get to Figma P."

Alpha came in from the bathroom holding a white towel. His chest was firmer.

"What is it, darling? Why are we going there?"

"I don't know." She snapped. "We just need to get there. Jenn."

"Jenn? What happened to her?"

They boarded the next flight out of Smallsvile to Figma P. Alpha sat beside her holding her hand. She's engrossed in her thinking, perhaps in her not knowing what to think. Damien sat behind them and Sarah was left to control things till they get back.

"Darling, stop it already," Alpha said.

"I can't. She's the only family I have left. The whole chaos thing only gets at me."

"We'll get her back. Please don't worry…"

"Stop it. What if she's dead before we get there? What if they took her away forever? Eh."

"We have leads. We know where to find her."

An air hostess walked past them carrying two glasses of wine. She's taller, slim, and prettier than the others and she has a camera on her. It was a tiny camera strapped to her shirk. Alpha sensed her when she passed. He became suspicious. Perhaps she's working with the enemies. She walked back in holding empty glasses then smiled at Alpha because he was looking at her. Catherine turned to face the clouds staring at her and her at them. She plugged in her headphones and continued looking outside. It's been a while, she did that too. She mostly read when flying. Jenn must have been in great distress. She wouldn't have beeped if it was a minor thing. She continued thinking, listening to Bajörk and looking at the clouds.

Damien whispered in Alpha's ears. He turned back to look at him. His eyes say what's it mate.

"Something is about to happen. I sense it here."

"What's that," Alpha asked.

"I don't know. Let's lookout."

"Are you sure? Because I just saw that woman within a camera in her skirt. What is she doing…"

"Perhaps it's not what we are thinking. Though the others might not be having one."

"I'll walk to that part of the plane."

"You think she's spying on us?"

"Stop this, Damien. We aren't playing here…"

"Then I'll come too."

"You don't have to," he whispered and stood up. He walked slowly to the section the hostess came in through, he saw nothing. She could have only walked around them to take their pictures. He stood there thinking of what to think. Then something came to his mind. She must be up to something if not she won't smile at him. He walked back into their section and walked towards the bathroom. He sensed someone in it. He walked briskly to get to the door. A man walked out startled. He wore a tan shirt with carpe diem written on it.

"Hey," he said and waited. Alpha didn't answer him. A woman came out patting her hair. She was the hostess and probably the man is her lover. They walked away without saying anything to him. He looked at her again. She's pretty and tall and sexy. He entered the bathroom but found nothing. That was his hope.

"Damn it," he said, holding his head.

Before they could get to Jenn's house a call came in and Catherine picked it up. It was Jenn. She sounded pensive.

"Catherine, don't come over," she cried.

"What are you saying? I…"

"No, don't come over. I can handle this."

"But you beeped me. What's happening?"

"I did but…"

The call diverted and a piece of music started playing.

"What's it?" Alpha said. "Damien, turn the car around."

"Alright."

"Where are we heading?" He turned to Catherine again.

"I don't know. I don't know. Go that way… I think that's where they went. It leads to the forest."

"Alright. Get in."

They got there and found her crumpled car kissing a tree bent to one side. The bent was from the impact. It skidded down bumping to twigs, mounts then the tree. They found her phone in it. It's dead.

"Let's check that end," Damien said, pointing to a narrow road leading to a pond.

"That place leads to a pond. I doubt she went there."

"Alright," Damien turned to Alpha. "What should we do now?"

"I think we should get to the lab my grandfather worked in."

"Why?" Alpha asked.

"I heard a rustling when she called. That could only come from the industrial area."

"Alright. Let's get going. Damien, I'll drive this time."

"Alright. I do hope we find her even though hope doesn't exist."

They got in the car and drove off.

Maddie walked in with a club in his right hand. He wore a brown shirt and a shot. His men followed him holding high-end guns. They all wore black suits. The light dimmed then flickered and came back higher. He laughed and his men followed. The room was like a Pentagon room only that it was completely one. The walls were painted over. One could easily see that. He walked up to her. She's tied up in an ergonomic chair to a pillar and her face is covered with a white sheet. Her mouth was gargled too and she looked tired from her slough position.

"Damn! Bring me some water. Why is this place like a furnace?"

F12 moved forward to talk. He shouts him down.

"Get me a seat. You don't have to say anything. She's been warned so it's better she's in hell for some time. Bring me a seat."

"Yes, sir!"

F12 walked back to join the others. They've stationed outside the Lab in the old lab three miles away from the new one. It's like a desert land.

Maddie got on a call with John. Jenn started crying.

"We can kill her since she's not saying anything. Is that what you want, John?"

"Sure," the voice came out scattered in the timid air.
