Wade was watching Jane and Daniel go back to the coffee shop. Why couldn't he want to see them being with each other? He sighed and checked his phone.
He turned around because he knew that Jane still had feelings for Daniel. And, maybe Jane would continue her relationship with him. He wanted her to warm his bed and, of course, because of his mother.
Will Jane be back to him like she told him? Is she true to her words?
Wade didn't know what he would think again; it was his first time experiencing this confusion. He didn't understand why he experienced this kind of feeling. Wade didn't understand why there was a part of his mind that wanted to pull Jane away from Daniel. He was lost, and he felt insecure, which was too odd for him.
Wade found himself walking away from the coffee shop. Wade thought he didn't win this time, so Wade would look stupid once he forced Jane to do what he wanted.
“Why are you doing this, Daniel? I don't understand you anymore.” Jane didn't stop herself from showing what she truly felt. She was more irritated with Daniel for making everything complicated. Jane didn't come back to make him suffer because all she thought about was to be happy again, even though Daniel wasn't part of it.
“Is he your boyfriend? I know that you are lying, Jane.” Daniel said, which made Jane annoyed even more. Why does Daniel need to know everything?
When they were best friends, they both knew everything that would happen to each other. They're both honest; she thought that first. And she's wrong!
She thought that Daniel was too honest with her, and they both treated each other with respect and love. But she didn't know Daniel had a woman in his life; it was his fiancé. Jane thought at first that it was just a typical kind of girlfriend thing that he always did to others, but Daniel was so smitten with his fiancé that she didn't even notice it.
She secretly fell in love with Daniel, even though she hid her true identity from him. That's why when Daniel asked her to be his girlfriend, she quickly accepted it, but she discovered everything when she met his fiancé.
“He is my boyfriend. Daniel, it's not a big deal. You have your fiancé, so I can have a boyfriend, too.” Jane annoyingly replied. She almost clenched her fist because she thought she would get closure for their relationship. She wanted to move on, and she tried to forget her feelings for him. But how is that possible if Daniel didn't want to give her the closure she wanted all along?
“You are not like that. I know you too well, and I didn't understand why you told me this. Jane, I'm sorry if I did that to you.” Daniel's eyes formed tears, making Jane even more furious. She felt that he was playing again and again.
Daniel knew that his tears were her weaknesses! So, Jane thought that he was using it to make her heart melt.
“I understand your family didn't like me because I'm such a poor lady.” Jane calmed herself down; it was her fault that she was away from the Fontaine Family.
“No, it's not. Okay, you know that my family likes you. You are even close to them before we have a relationship.” Daniel held her hand, which made Jane scowl a little. She didn't mind if she exposed her genuine attitude as the cold lady of their family.
“Stop holding my hands. It disgusts me.” Jane's tone was full of threats which made Daniel's mouth hang open when he realized that she wasn't kidding at all. Jane gazed at him blankly as if she saw an average or poor man in her eyes.
“They loved me as your friend but not as your lover. Daniel, your mother, humiliates me for being poor. I don't understand if it's too bad to be poor. She was the one who told me everything, that you just used me to make you forget your fiancé. Tell me, are you telling me that your mother is such a liar?” Jane's lips rose when she saw how Daniel was stunned by what she told him. Jane couldn't stop herself from laughing sarcastically.
Jane tried to understand Daniel's mother because they were both close when she and Daniel were friends. But what she didn't understand was that Daniel's mother didn't like her as Daniel's girlfriend because she was poor. They didn't know that she was more prosperous than them; they didn't know everything about her.
All they knew was she had a lot of jobs to pay because she had a lot of that needed pay. Even though she was like that, it doesn't mean they all have the right to humiliate her. For Jane, there's nothing wrong with having a lot of jobs as long as she doesn't steal.
Daniel blinked several times when he heard what Jane had told him. He was shocked because he didn't even know that his mother had told her everything. His lips trembled as his hands clenched in so much anger.
“I-I didn't know that it was my mother. I couldn't understand why she needed to say that to you! I was about to tell you everything but–”
Jane laughed so hard, and she felt that her heart was too hard. “Of course, I am thankful that your mother already told me about your affair with your fiancé. Seriously, Daniel, she helped me prepare for the upcoming breakup. You don't need to get mad at her because, in the end, she was right all along.” Jane stopped and tried to control her temper. She is Jane Fontaine, and she was thankful she didn't even use her actual last name when she met Daniel and her family. All they knew was that she was an ordinary girl who didn't have enough money to sustain her everyday needs.
“Daniel, I don't want to see you anymore. I came back here, not because of you, but because of my family.” Jane muttered as she grinned at him. This was the reason why she didn't like to get attached to anyone. She was afraid of getting hurt, and she was worried that someone might take advantage of her.
Throughout her whole life, their family and all of the people who wanted to be her friend always had the proper motives. They always used her because they thought that she was a weak family member of the Fontaine.
“You don't mean it, don't you? Jane, please, I want us to be back; I'm sad I lost my friend because of my selfishness.” Daniel tried to get her hand, but she avoided his hand and gave him the proper treatment that she always gave to anybody.
“I won't be mad at you anymore if you stop bugging me.” Jane's tone was more severe, which made Daniel stop crying.
Daniel thought the woman in front of him was different from his friend. He knew that Jane was too sweet when it came to him; she always understood him. “I will stop bugging you if you answer my question. Is he your boyfriend?" Daniel couldn't stop himself from asking again. Why does he feel that he would be hurt more if Jane tells him that he is?
“He is my boyfriend. Please, stop making me answer your question repeatedly. We met in this coffee shop because he wanted me to live with him. Are you happy now?” Jane took the key from her pocket and shook the key in front of Daniel's face.
“I will live with him tomorrow under one roof. Do you want to come with me to see if I will do that? It's alright if you want to go because I want you to stop talking to me. Daniel, I don't want to talk to you ever again.” Jane stood up and brought back the key to her pocket. She inhaled when she felt her heart clench because of the man in front of her.
“If you don't want me to get mad at you, please, stop bothering me.” Jane was about to leave when she felt a cold water splash on her face. She didn't have any emotions as she looked at Christy, who was gnashing her teeth while she was looking at her.
Daniel hurriedly stood up when he saw his fiancé, who was too mad because of what she saw. “Christy! What are you doing here? We're just talking.” Daniel panicked as he didn't mind Jane anymore.
“You freaking bitch! My boyfriend doesn't want you anymore, but you keep showing up at him.” Christy yelled, which made the other customers disturbed. Christy's jaw clenched when Jane didn't flinch because of what she did to her. She couldn't believe that she dared to act like that in front of her.
Christy pushed Daniel when Daniel tried to hug her and tried to slap Jane once again. But her slap failed when Jane stopped her using her arms. Christy tried to pull her arms too hard, which made Jane free her arm and caused her to fall to the ground.
“Oh! Christy!” Daniel shrieked when he saw that Christy winced in pain. He was full of disbelief as he looked at Jane, who didn't have any demeanor on her face. “Jane, why did you do that? What will happen if her head is knocked to the floor?”
“Maybe, she will get hurt, or maybe, her head will bleed.” Jane heartlessly replied before she chuckled. “It's not my problem anymore if she bleeds; I don't care if she didn't wake up,” Jane added.
“Jane!!” Daniel gritted his teeth because of what Jane responded. He was about to grab Jane's arm when he stopped after Jane gave him two slaps of his face. He felt his face numb, and his eyes widened in pain.
“You are fucking imbecile.” Jane was full of anger as she slapped Daniel again on his face. “You are nothing but a worthless bastard! I told you that you should stop seeing me because your face disgusts me.”
“Jane!” Daniel was bewildered when he heard how Jane called him a worthless bastard. He couldn't believe that he would listen to her say those words. His eyes were full of madness and turned pitch black. He almost grabbed Jane in her hand.
But Jane didn't let him as she twisted his hand, making Daniel feel pain. Christy was more astonished that she ran towards Jane and tried to kick her, but Jane already knew about her plan, so Jane kicked her on the stomach, which made her toss at the table.
“Ahh–” Daniel screamed in pain, but the worry was in his eyes when he saw how Christy winced in pain.
“Seriously, I am trying to forget you after you dared to hurt me emotionally, Daniel. How could you lay your finger on me? Didn't you know that the last person who tried to harm me was in the grave? Do you want to meet her?” Jane tightly twisted his arm, which made Daniel try to stop her.
“You bitch! How could you hurt me? Do you want to die? I will make sure that you will rot in jail!” Christy fumed in anger as she tried to stand up.
Jane devilishly laughed at her as if Christy was telling her something funny. Jane pushed Daniel away from her and gave him a murderous glare.
“If you can do that, make me.” Jane challenged them to make her go to jail if they could. “Let's see who will face prison or bankruptcy after this,” Jane smirked and turned her back to them. She finally decided that she won't let someone bully her again. She wouldn't let them treat her like trash if her family treated her like a gem.
Blossom scratched her forehead when she noticed that Jane wasn't returning to work. She feels guilty all of a sudden that maybe, she gave Jane a trauma she couldn't forget.
“How many sighed you will do today? You don't need to worry about her because what we did is normal.” Leo couldn't stop himself from telling her. He wasn't bothered because he knew that maybe his cousin had gone to a coffee shop to forget everything she had seen.
Leo felt his phone vibrate, so he quickly took it when he saw one of his men was calling him.
“Mr. Fontaine, I saw your cousin nearby in the coffee shop. She fought with her ex-boyfriend and his fiancé. I saw everything; it's them who tried to hurt her.” Leo's forehead creased as he massaged his temple.
“Okay, take her away from that, and I want them to see them in jail for hurting her. Please do not make her know everything. Do you understand me?” Leo responded.
Blossom was stunned as she heard what Leo responded. She felt a little pang in her chest as she thought Leo was talking about Erin again.
