Jane rushed to the hospital when she found out about what had happened to Blossom. Her heart was pounding, and a sweat formed on her forehead. She stopped when someone grabbed her hand.
“You don't need to run. What will happen if you slip on the floor?” Wade sternly asked; he had a blank expression, and his face softened when he saw how worried Jane was. Wade sighed deeply before he tightened his grip on Jane's hand.
Jane exasperatedly gasped, and her eyes slowly formed tears in her eyes. She was trembling because she knew how good Blossom was to her. She was anxious that something terrible might happen to her.
She secretly followed Blossom to the parking lot since Wade would fetch her in the company. Luckily, they both had the same way, so she saw how Blossom couldn't control the car properly.
“Calm down, Jane. It's not your fault, and you don't need to worry because I will help investigate this.” Wade mumbled, which made Jane finally let her tears fall down her cheeks. Jane started sobbing, and she wasn't aware that her hands pulled Wade even more. She hugged him too tightly and hid her face on his chest.
Wade was stunned, but he didn't say anything. Instead of pushing Jane away, he grabbed her head and pulled her more. He moaned and looked at the corridor. He stopped when he saw Daniel was watching them both.
Daniel's eyes were bloodshot when he saw how Jane hugged Wade. He couldn't believe that he had witnessed how comfortable Jane was with another man. He still remembered that Jane didn't trust a man quickly, and she needed to know them first before she friended them.
Now that he saw Jane had another man in her life made, he tasted bitterness. He never thought that, in the end, he would be the one who was called a loser in the game. Daniel clasped his hands and turned around. He was gritting his teeth, and the sourness came inside his heart.
He thought he was unhappy and full of regrets; he wouldn't let Jane be happy with another man. He wanted her to get the bitterness and guilt in her heart. Daniel quickly left with a lot of hatred and jealousy in his heart.
Wade felt terrible when he saw how Daniel looked at them. His heart was pounding too fast, and he thought that Daniel might do something wrong to them, especially Jane. Wade's jaw clenched, and he caressed Jane's back to comfort her.
“Stop crying. You should trust your boss; she will be alright.” Wade whispered, and Jane automatically stopped crying. She was about to wipe her tears when Wade grabbed her face and wiped the tears on her cheeks.
“Let's go! We need to know what happened to Blossom.” Jane felt thankful that Wade was with her when she went to the hospital. If Wade wasn't with her, she might have had a breakdown because of anxiety.
When they reached the operating room, Jane was surprised when she saw Storm waiting; he had a worried expression while sitting in the chair. His hands were trembling, and he was anxious.
“Mr. Storm, what are you doing here?” Jane couldn't stop being more suspicious because Storm was waiting in the operating room.
“Why kind of question is that? Okay, I was on my way to go to Blossom because she kept calling me several times. I couldn't pick up her calls because I was too busy at my company. I want to invite her for dinner when the news comes out, so I rushed straight here.” Storm gnashed his teeth, and he felt more frustrated. He was worried because he didn't know what would happen to Blossom. Why does he think Erin didn't even go with their plans and do what she wanted?
“I am worried about her. She is my friend, so don't you dare question me like that? Why don't you call her husband? You are Blossom's secretary, so the first that you need to do is inform him about what happened to his wife. I can't believe this.” Storm added and took his phone. He called Blossom's parents and told them about what had happened to her.
Jane was shocked at how Storm suddenly became frustrated. She felt lost, but she quickly hid her suspicions of Storm. Why does she think that Storm planned everything?
“You… Okay?” Wade asked when he noticed how severe Jane's expression was. Wade glanced at Storm, and he saw how Storm's eyes were bloodshot while he was talking to Blossom's parents.
Wade frowned when he noticed how Storm hid his smirk when the call ended. Storm plastered a worried face when he saw Wade watching him from afar.
Storm was confused because he knew Wade was. He was one of Leo's friends, and it looked like he was having an affair with Blossom's secretary. Storm acted like he was tired and went to the chair.
“I will call Mr. Fontaine now,” Jane told Wade before stepping back and moving away to call Leo.
Wade dared not remove his sight from Storm, who gave him a deathly glare. He knew Storm because of Erin, and he didn't even know that Storm had this kind of attitude.
“Is it too weird that you are Leo's friend, but you are secretly hitting Blossom's secretary?” Storm inquired, which made Wade hide his expression. Wade had cold and sharp eyes when Storm spit those words.
“Storm, you are Erin's cousin. Isn't it weird that you are here while Blossom is in the hospital?” Wade didn't have any plans to lose. He chuckled when he saw how Storm tried to compose his composer, but he failed miserably. Wade noticed it, so Storm had no choice but to continue his action.
“Today, Erin is the well-known mistress of someone. She is known to be a home wrecker because she kept pushing herself to get someone who married. Did you think the crowd wouldn't notice or even suspect your cousin?” Wade added. He put his hands inside his pocket and smiled at Storm.
“Are you accusing us of something we didn't even do? Wade, did you know I can file a case against you for slandering me? What makes you think that I want Blossom to be like this? She is my friend.” Storm defensively snapped out. He clenched his teeth, and his eyes were too dark as if he wanted to kick and punch Wade in the face.
“Oh, why are you acting defensive, Storm? What do you think? I might think that everything is a coincidence. Did you feel that we both were dumb to accept your reasons? Storm, I know that you are trying to separate them because Blossom didn't even see you as a man that she could be with.” Wade shrugged his shoulder and grinned at Storm, who gave him a murderous glare. Wade knew that Storm was a man who had two faces. Storm's acting wouldn't deceive him because he wasn't stupid at all, and he knew that Jane might think like what he was thinking. He felt that Jane suspected Storm because it like Storm knew that Blossom would be in the hospital at the end of the day.
“Okay, believe whatever you want to believe, Wade. Because I wouldn't explain my side to someone like you, I know that maybe Leo asked you to be Blossom's secretary.”
“And why would Leo do that? Storm, did you forget that I am more powerful than you? Are you trying to boast about what your parents did to your company? I don't want to hurt your ego, but if your parents didn't even help in your company, I know you will go bankrupt soon.”
“How dare you! You didn't even know me at all. I didn't even know that you liked listening to gossip.”
“Gossip? I don't think it's gossip that you almost killed someone because I saw it in my eyes. Did you think that I was blind? I will make sure that I will find out who did this to Blossom.
“Then investigate it. I am not afraid because I know that I am not guilty. Let's see if you can find whoever asshole did this.”
“Are you talking about yourself, Storm? You are the asshole here. Did you forget that, or do you want me to make you remember that you are such an asshole?”
“Asshole! You will regret this. You're such a jerk, Wade! Don't act like you are so neat because I know that you are secretly hiding in your closet!” Storm screamed so loudly, which made Jane finally walk towards them.
“Mr. Storm, why are you yelling here? Did you forget that you are here in the hospital? There were a lot of people who were trying to rest here. Please, leave.” Jane was more frustrated because she couldn't reach her cousin, and Storm threw tantrums at them.
Storm was full of disbelief. He couldn't understand why he was the one who would need to leave if Wade was trying to test his patience. How could Wade insult him about his company? He did his best to manage his company, and now Wade was trying to use the gossip he had heard against her.
“You are just a mere secretary! How could you do this to me? Do you want me to tell Blossom to fire you?” Storm yelled, which made Jane rush towards him and give him a kick on his feet.
Storm screamed in pain, which made the other doctor go to them. He glared at Jane, who didn't even flinch when he saw how fierce his eyes were. Jane gave him a stern look.
“You are acting like a pig. You are too noisy, and I wouldn't say I liked it. Du think that I would be afraid of you because I am only a secretary? You're Not the one who was paying me whenever I did my job, so don't you dare raise your voice at me, or else I will make sure that you wouldn't use your throat anymore.” Jane coldly said, which made Storm swallow when he saw how scary Jane was. He saw how Jane smirked at him and glanced at his feet.
“Do you want me to kick your other feet? You didn't fully understand that I am not scared of you because you aren't my boss here.” Jane added; she crossed her arms and gave a devilish smile. “Don't worry; I will let Ms. Blossom knows how you acted today.”
Jane stepped back when Storm growled in anger before he immediately left. Jane sighed, and she felt relieved when Storm finally left them. She peeked at Wade, who had an amused grin on his lips.
“Why are you smiling?” Jane felt that her cheeks were burning when Wade laughed so loudly.
“You are a little bit scary. I didn't even know that you would kick his feet. Aren't you scared that he might burst his anger on you?” Wade grabbed Jane's hand and pulled her to hug her. Jane was astounded, and she felt her heart was alarmed because of the sudden embrace.
“I am not scared of someone like him. I know that he was acting like a good person in front of Blossom, but I know that he isn't kind. I know what he was up to.” Jane answered and tried to push Wade away from him, but Wade didn't let her break the hug.
“Hey! Don't you dare. I didn't even complain when you hugged me when you were crying. I want you to be fair to me.” Wade mumbled, which made Jane's mouth hanging open.
“So, if I kiss you right now? You will kiss me back because I did that too—” Jane didn't finish her words when Wade moved close, and kissed her. She was shocked, and her eyes widened in surprise.
“Okay, you can give the kiss back to me. I kissed you now.” Wade uttered before he claimed her lips once again.
