Jane widened her eyes when she felt Wade's lips touch her mouth. Her lips trembled when her heart started beating prematurely, which caused her almost to stop breathing. She couldn't control her hands to encircle Wade's nape and pulled him more so he couldn't break their kiss.
When Wade stopped, he had a teasing smile plastered on his lips, which made Jane's face flustered. She didn't understand why it looked like she couldn't control her mind or even her body when it came to Wade. It looks like Wade had control of her, and she didn't like it.
“You are closing your eyes, so I will assume that you like that I kissed you. Jane, why don't you think more about my offer? We will both benefit from that thing. I know that you will enjoy me or my performance.” Wade winked at her, which made her eyes in irritation.
Jane thought that it was not every day that they were both talking about his offer while they were both waiting for Blossom. She felt unhappy that she was happy while Blossom was in the operating room. She didn't like it, so she moved closer to Wade and gave him a pinch on his waist.
Wade groaned in pain, and his expression was disbelief that Jane dared to pinch him like a child. He tried to grab her hand, but Jane flinched and stepped away. Wade arched his brow, and it was amusing that Jane was trying to act like he didn't like what he was doing.
“Did you forget that we are here in the hospital? I don't think that it's appropriate that we are having this conversation here. Why don't we talk about it at your house? I am worried about Blossom.” Jane bit her lips to prevent herself from laughing when Wade had a scowled expression.
“You are always avoiding me whenever we are in our house. Wow, thank you for reminding me that you always went home because I don't even feel that you are with me.” Wade sarcastically stated, which made Jane chuckle. She gave Wade a small punch on his stomach, which made her feel his sexy abs.
“Jane, you should tell me if you like touching my belly. I'm not selfish because I will allow you to lick every inch of it. But, please, I miss you giving me a head.” Wade laughed so loudly when he saw how Jane felt embarrassed. He grabbed her waist and pulled her so he could hug her. Jane tried to push Wade away from her, but Wade didn't let her. Instead, he spanked her butt, which made Jane shriek.
“Wade! Shit! What are you doing?” Jane screamed in surprise. She still felt Wade's hands on her ass, and she liked it. She never thought that she would let someone do this to her. She is a Fontaine, and she wouldn't let someone do this to her.
“Do you want me to spank your butt while thrusting my army inside you?” Wade mumbled, which made Jane groan in humiliation. She never thought that Wade would be like this to her; perhaps, she didn't feel offended because she liked it. She couldn't stop imagining everything he had said to her.
“Shut up, Wade. It's not funny anymore. You're such an asshole.” Jane gritted her teeth, and she felt ashamed that her body quickly responded to Wade.
They both stopped when they heard a lot of coughing, and Jane was startled that she almost pushed Wade from her when she saw how cold Leo's expression was. He was giving her a blank stare which made her swallow slowly.
“Jane, I didn't know that you know Wade. So, does it mean you truly live with him under one roof?” Leo asked. Wade shook his head when Leo made Jane shiver in fear. “I thought you wanted Daniel More, but you finally learned your lesson. Daniel More doesn't fit in our family.”
Jane gnashed her teeth. She couldn't believe Leo dared to say those words in front of her and even in front of Wade. She felt sheepish all of a sudden. She didn't want Wade to think she lived with him because of his money.
“Leo, you don't need to spill those words to her. I don't want her to feel uncomfortable with me. You should mind your own business, dude.” Wade felt irritated when he saw how Jane was offended by what Leo had told her. He scoffed, which made Leo give a cold laugh at them.
“Wade, can't you wait to have a time with her? Did you see that she is worried about my wife? I can't believe you are trying to flirt with her at the hospital.” Leo uttered in disbelief which made Wade make a fierce expression. He didn't like it whenever Leo tried to tease him, especially when Jane was with him.
What would happen if he told Jane everything about his past? Wade was trying to calm himself down when he saw how Leo gave him a teasing smile.
“Fuck off, dude. Since you are here now, I think we should go home now. Jane is too exhausted because you took Blossom and had a vacation with her while her secretary did all the work.” Wade mockingly stated, which made Leo enlighten his expression.
“But, she doesn't look tired. It's for her good because I want her to have her own company. If Jane could do everything, she might not need a secretary once she built her company.” Leo shrugged his shoulders and glanced at the operating door. He didn't even see Jane give him a death glare.
“If she is tired, I don't think she has enough energy to flirt with you in the hospital. She might be sitting in this chair because she couldn't stand anymore because of exhaustion.” Leo acted like he didn't care if Jane was tired because he knew his cousin wasn't tired; Wade wanted them to go home because he was too excited to have a one night with Jane. He wasn't stupid not to think about Wade's intention for saying those words to him.
Did they forget that he wasn't the type of person who would show some sympathy? He didn't like that because Leo thought that he would be abused or, maybe, used by others if he kept using his compassion. To make his position stable, he needed to use his mind, not his heart or his emotion.
“I can't believe that you are saying that to me. I think that you have some care for me because I am your cousin.” Jane clenched her jaw, and she wished that she could have an opportunity to smack Leo's face. If she could do that, then she would jump into happiness.
“I cared for you. But it doesn't mean I will act like food because I care for you. Jane used your brain; this is why Daniel More used you. It's because you are full of emotion and keep using your heart.” Leo replied, which made Jane's mouth hanging open. Okay, she was pleased that Leo had a little bit, but she was furious because Leo was telling her how stupid she was.
“Hey! Stop humiliating her. I don't like it whenever you talk to her that way.” Wade couldn't stop himself from butting in. He didn't like it when Leo was degrading Jane in front of him. He knew Leo's heartlessness, but he was too different regarding Jane. He didn't understand why he was acting like that, but when he saw how Leo sparkled, he realized that it was Leo's way of telling Jane to work smart and not be a fool.
Simple, it's because she was a Fontaine, and a Fontaine wasn't acting like a foolish person. They were all respected and noble, and because Jane didn't even dare to be like them, Leo was stressed because of her.
“Leo Fontaine!” Jane yelled her cousin's name out of anger. She clenched her hands, but Leo wasn't affected by her sudden outburst. Instead, he fixed his tie and moved away from her. Jane bit her lips to suppress herself from cursing her cousin. She wished Blossom was with them because she knew that Leo wouldn't even dare to act heartless when Blossom was around.
“Did you talk to some police? Did you know that is the first thing you needed to do?” Leo spoke, which made Jane stunned for a moment. She forgot that part, and Leo finally guessed that she didn't.
“Jane, did you know that you let them remove the evidence? It's your part to check everything. Your boss might be dying here, and instead of working, you are flirting with a man here in this hospital.” Leo roared like a lion who was trying to scare his prey. He gave Jane a murderous glare.
“Leo, stop this. Did you forget that her working hours stopped? We were about to go home when Blossom had an accident.” Wade defended Jane, but he stopped when Jane held his hand.
“Wade, are you fucking for real? This is why I want Jane to be my wife's secretary. It's because she is smart and capable of anything. Did you forget that your secretary is working whenever you need him? Stop being a hypocrite because I know that is always what you did.” Leo was furious when he said those words. Jane sighed in defeat, and she felt that she was too useless.
“This is her training, so I don't want you to help her. I want her to be more independent because I want her to create her brand. Jane didn't like to use our family's name, so I wanted her to create her name without our help. Stop defending her because I know that Jane wouldn't like it that you are acting like she couldn't defend herself.” Leo added, which made Jane glare at Wade.
Wade was taken aback. He didn't understand why Jane was irritated at him. He peeked at Leo, and he saw how Leo gave him a devilish smirk. He didn't even notice how Leo twisted everything and used Jane's thoughts about herself to make Jane get mad at him.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Fontaine; I will do my work properly and be more vigilant. I forgot, so I should go to the police station now.” Jane bowed her head, and she felt pleased when Leo explained everything to her. She was happy that Leo let her create her name without their help.
“Now, you don't need to. Because someone told me you are here with Wade, I asked my secretary to do your work. But I don't want you to be like this if this accident happens again.” Leo didn't even dare to glimpse her, so Jane glanced at Wade and gave him a pinch on his waist again.
“Ouch! It hurts. I can't believe that you are hurting me. Did you know that my mother cherished me too much? She didn't even dare to pinch me.” Wade pulled Jane even more and embraced her. He saw how Leo tried not to take a look at them.
“Shut up! If you don't stop doing this. I will pop your balls.” Jane threatened him, which made Wade have a pale expression. Wade heard how Leo secretly laughed.
Jane stopped when she saw the doctor when out of the operating room.
“Who are the relatives of Blossom Fontaine?” The doctor asked, which made Leo stand up, and Leo went closer to the doctor.
“I am her husband.” Leo proudly admitted, so Jane secretly made rolled her eyes.
“Your wife is fine now. But she needed to have some rest because there was a big chance that she might lose her baby.” The doctor announced, which made Jane smile.
She finally understood why Blossom kept complaining that she was constantly feeling sleepy. It's because she wasn't aware that she was pregnant by Leo's child.
“So, please do everything to prevent her from stress. She needs some bed rest; your wife is lucky.”
