Who's the Legal Wife? Chapter 73

Sophia faked her cough, and after she talked for a few minutes, she ended the call. Her expression was blank, and she stopped herself from showing her emotion. She needed to be wiser since she knew that Erin and her mother would do anything to remove her after her father announced that she was the one who would inherit the company. They would do anything to make her incapable of managing the company.

Sophia walked out of the elevator and bowed her head. Even though she wanted to slap Erin's face from the moment she saw her, she couldn't take down her shield.

Sophia knew Erin's mother would act like a genuine and kind mother to her, so she was prepared for everything. She was thankful for her friend's help for helping her to get back into their country without them noticing it.

Sophia slowly walked when she saw Erin was with her phone. Erin was talking to someone on the phone, and Sophia knew it was Erin's mother. She slowly hid in the plant's corner.

“Yeah! I can't believe daddy said that in front of my face, mommy! You promised me that you would make sure that I am the one who will inherit everything. What was Sophia doing here?” Erin yelled that Sophia could hear everything that she said.

Sophia hoped she could hear what her stepmother was telling her daughter so she could listen to what they might be planning against her.

“Okay! Mommy, I will do anything. Don't worry; I will treat Sophia as my sister so I can get rid of her easily. Yeah, I would make her feel that I like her. Oh, I'm sorry! I got it; I won't be jealous of her if you act like her; throw her away in my life!”

Sophia slowly walked back to the company, and Erin didn't even notice that she had heard everything. She walked and let her shoes create noises, making Erin think she had left the company too late. Sophia wanted to smack Erin's head, but she prevented herself because she knew there was perfect timing for everything.

“Okay, mommy! I will end this call; Sophia is here.” Erin ended the call when Sophia was almost near her. Sophia noticed how Erin tried to smile but looked like she was constipated.

“Is that your mom? Is it okay with her if I stay in the house?” Sophia asked, and she acted like she didn't see how Erin rolled her eyes before she cleared her throat. She bowed her head to make Erin know that she was scared of her.

“Ah, you don't need to be scared of my mother because she is your mother, too. It's alright; she's fine with it. She is too excited to meet you again finally.” Erin replied. She moved closer to Sophia and tapped Sophia's shoulders. She smirked and smiled innocently.

“Erin, are you sure that your mother is fine with it? I don't want her to get mad at me because daddy let me stay in your house.” Sophia acted like she was nervous, which made Erin smile at her.

“No! She is not mad. And don't worry; she was fine with it. I know my mommy.” Erin assured her Sophia acted like she believed what Erin had told her. She recalled that she was stupid for trusting Erin too much. She was so foolish that she thought her mother would treat her like her daughter.

She was dumb for believing them, and she would make sure that she would make them taste their own medicine.

If they all think that she didn't know everything, of course, she knew everything. The saddest part was that she was too late to discover their true colors, and her father decided to throw her out of the country.

“Let's go! She is waiting for us. I know that mommy will prepare a grand meal for us.” Erin mumbled. Sophia nodded and went inside the car when Erin went in. She was calculating everything when her phone vibrated five times.

“Sophia, I'm sorry if I acted like a bitch when we were in the elevator. I was too irritated because of what daddy had told me. I felt that he didn't love me because he kept comparing you to me.” Erin sadly spoke. She bit her lips to make herself more pitiable.

Sophia looked at her with sadness in her eyes. She acted like she understood what Erin had told her. “Erin, you don't need to listen to what our father told you. I know that he didn't mean it. In fact, he kept telling me about you when I was meeting him in his office. He kept telling me how good you are.”

Erin was surprised; she didn't know that her father was too proud of her. All she heard in his mouth was humiliation and madness.

“Are you sure that you heard our father saying those words to you? Well, all I think is that he hated me, and she's not proud that I am his daughter.”

“Yeah, I thought he would ask what happened to me or if I am alright. But he didn't even do that because he kept telling me how proud he was to have you as his daughter. I wished that I had a mother, too. You are lucky.”

“You can call my mother your mommy. I know that she was waiting for this chance since she thought that you didn't accept her.”

“Are you sure about that? It would help if you weren't angry with me because you might think I am stealing your mother. I'm still hoping to be your sister.” Sophia mumbled. She was hoping that Erin would not notice that she was acting from the very start.

“Sophia, I won't think that way because I know my mother is your future mother. Aside from that, we are sisters, so we have a connection to be with each other.” Erin tried to maintain her smile before she clenched her teeth secretly. She was happy that she didn't need to work hard to get Sophia's trust, but she was too annoyed that she needed to endure everything to make Sophia think that she loved her as her sister.

“Thank you, Erin. And I am happy to meet you again.” Sophia whispered. She was happy because she pledged that she would do anything to make them miserable in her hands. She promised that Erin and her mother would taste how to be betrayed, and she would make sure that everyone who helped would face her wrath too.

When the car stopped, Erin went out to the car, and Sophia followed. Her phone vibrated again and again, so she knew that something terrible might happen to her. She needed to be more alert because she realized that her father was still in his company.

Sophia saw Erin's mother waiting for them in front of the door. When her eyes locked on her, she quickly bowed her head. She wanted them to think that she was too afraid to see her.

“Mommy, Sophia is here.” Erin happily announced. She quickly pushed Sophia when her mother was walking closer to them.

Because of the sudden push, Sophia acted like she stumbled since she felt that Erin pushed her with force. She saw how Erin bit her lips to prevent herself from smiling, and Erin's mother acted like she was too worried about Sophia, even though Sophia could see how Erin's mother stopped herself from laughing at Sophia.

“Erin, what did you do to your sister? I'm sorry, Sophia, if Erin acted so careless. What will happen to you if your head bumps into the floor? There is a big chance that you might die.” Erin's mother hugged Sophia tighter, making her unable to breathe correctly. If she was stupid, she might think that Erin's mother missed her so much, but she wasn't stupid at all.

It looks like Erin's mother secretly hinted that she should stay away from them. But she wasn't the old Sophia who was too scared of them. Sophia gnashed her teeth in a fury, and she was calming herself to be more relaxed. These two women didn't know her at all, but they acted like she was not smart enough to distinguish their true colors. It looks like they were degrading her because they all thought she didn't go to school or finish her studies.

Sophia bit her lips and innocently looked at them. “Auntie, it's alright. It looks like Erin is too excited for me to meet you. She didn't intentionally push me because she told me I could call you my mother since we are sisters.”

Sophia smiled, and she turned around to see Erin. “Am I right, Erin? I am still thankful that you still liked me as your sister. I have wanted to be with you since we were kids, but my father deported me outside the country.”

“Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Sophia. I didn't even know that your father had that plan, and I wished I had the power to make him change your mind. But it looks like your father wanted to be with you now. He told me he plans to continue his studies here, and I am happy to know about it.” Erin's mother smiled and even winked at her.

She pulled Sophia to enter the house, and Sophia saw a lot of maids who were giving her a pity look. “Well, to welcome you here. I ask them to prepare food for you. I want you to enjoy your stay here since our life is too short, and we don't even know how long we will stay in this world.” Erin's mother laughed, which made Sophia act like she was laughing too.

It's a death threat to her. Since her father told them that she was the one who would inherit the company, they would do anything to steal the company from her hands, even though they might need to kill her. Well, what Erin's mother had told her was too familiar in her ears. She remembered that her mother heard those words after her father made Erin and her mother stay in the house.

“I know, right, mommy? Let's make Sophia enjoy everything here.” Erin agreed before she turned to her designated seat. Sophia stopped since she knew what might happen to her.

“Auntie, I feel my stomach is aching. Can I use the bathroom? I can't hold this anymore.” Sophia mumbled, which made the two women's faces turn sour. They were disgusted that they were at the dining table, and Sophia was asking permission to make her go to the bathroom.

Erin's mother nodded, which made Sophia quickly run to the bathroom. She gasped for air when she took her phone out of her pocket. She tapped the message, and she saw that someone was telling her not to eat the food on her plate. Sophia took a tablet and drank it. She stayed long in the bathroom before returning to the dining table.

“I am sorry if I am taking too long. It looks like I ate something wrong.” Sophia muttered before she went back to her seat. She took her fork and slowly ate her food. She saw how Erin and her mother glanced at her and smirked at her evilly.

She took the meat and pointed her fork at Erin. “Erin, since I am your sister and I'm happy to be with you. Please eat with me.” Sophia uttered, which made Erin's face pale.

“No! I don't want to eat your food.” Erin answered she was nervous that something terrible might happen to her since she and Sophia were both allergic to peanuts.

“I thought that you liked me as your sister. Do you remember that we always did this when we were young?” Sophia wanted to laugh so loud when Erin tried to push her hand.

“If you didn't eat this. I might think that something is not right with my food.”
