Who's the Legal Wife? Chapter 83

“You aren't talking now.” Jane pursed her lips and chuckled when she saw that Jane was stunned. Jane licked her lip and held Wade's hand.

Wade was staring at her hand, holding his hand, and said, “I'm speechless. I wanted to say something, but I was surprised when you told me you read some articles to understand me.”

“Wait, are you shy, or are you nervous? Well…” Jane stopped, cleared her throat, and laughed so loudly. “You had a lot of fans in some groups on social media. Some of your fans posted about you that you didn't like a woman who was too clingy.”

“Clingy?” Wade gulped. He was nervous that Jane would dislike him after she found out about his women—that time, he played with some women because that was one of his cups of tea.

Jane nodded her head. “Yeah, you didn't like that someone is clingy to you. I saw some articles about you where an artist claimed that you got her pregnant, but the truth is, she wasn't.”

Wade coughed so hard when he heard what Jane had read. His eyes were teary and bloodshot, while his cheeks were pinkish.

“Y-You don't need to read that article, okay? That time, I used to play with some random women, and I changed.” Wade stammered. He swallowed when Jane didn't have any reactions; he was nervous that Jane didn't like him.

“Changed? But the last article about your affair with someone was two months ago.” Jane scoffed; she winked at Wade, which made Wade look away when she saw how lovable Jane was.

A cold lady of the Fontaine family was winking at him, and what he couldn't understand was Jane melting his heart slowly.

“I can't believe that you even know about it. Stop humiliating me, Jane. I didn't want you to know about it because I don't want you to think that you are like them.” Wade was nervous when he spoke those words; he didn't want Jane to think he was too head over heels for her.

“Yeah, I know I'm not one of them because my face is too different from theirs. I'm more beautiful than them.” Jane smiled; she went back to her desk, leaving Wade, who was shocked at how proud she was.

Wade was left dumbfounded, but he followed Jane, but while he was walking, he took his phone and ordered some food because he knew that Jane was famished like him. When he reached Jane's desk, he sat on the chair and watched her doing her job correctly.

Wade could stop himself from being amazed at how beautiful Jane was. Jane wasn't bluffing when she said that she was gorgeous because Fontaine had a look that they could only see in the members of the family.

There was something odd to their vibes, and whenever the Fontaine went to the party, they had a powerful aura that made the other people bow to them. That's why Wade thought that Daniel More was too stupid for wasting his chance on Jane. He was lucky at first, and he would do anything to have the last.

“Stop watching me. I could see in my peripheral vision that you're watching me like a hawk, Wade. Is that the effect of a blow job on you?” Jane bluntly asked; the corner of her lips rose, and she licked her lips once again.

“The lady of the Fontaine is secretly humiliating me. Okay, you did well when you sucked my cock, baby.” Wade sighed to calm his nerves because he was too affected whenever he witnessed how blunt Jane was when she talked to him.

He didn't know that talking about sex was too good. When he played with some women, he didn't like to talk about sex because he thought that once was enough. If he knew that Jane could make his heart react aggressively, he would have agreed to Leo when Leo asked him to date his cousin.

“I'm good at sucking because my teacher was too good when he taught me that. I want to be your best student.”

“You are the only student I taught you to do that.”

“Are you sure that I'm the only one? It looks like I'm too unique to you. Based on the article I read, you liked playing with some girls simultaneously. Now I think you don't have other women aside from me.” Jane smirked when she saw how Wade frowned at her. She twitched her lips and tried to hide that she was too proud of herself.

“Instead of reading some articles about me. Why don't you hire some private investigator to get to know me better?”

“I already know you better when I read those articles; you don't need to be nervous. Calm your ass, Wade.” Jane took the folder and read everything on the paper. She was too fast when she read the articles she needed to send to Blossom to get her signature.

“You're too fast when you read the proposals. Did you know that some proposals are fake? Are you sure you're doing your job properly?” Wade couldn't stop himself from asking. He was bewildered that Jane didn't even think if the papers that were sent to her were fake or not.

He was working, and sometimes he was too stressed whenever fraud proposals looked so real.

Jane grinned, raised her chin, and gave Wade a proud look. “I'm Fontaine, Wade. I know how to see if the paper that was sent to me was a fraud or not. I don't need to think about it because I trusted my instinct so much.”

Wade sighed, he recalled that he had asked Leo the same question, and Leo told him the same answer that Jane had given him. Instinct? Wade didn't trust intuition, or maybe he was the type of person that needed to think about everything before he decided to do something.

“I don't trust my instinct. I used to think several times before I decided to do something.” Wade murmured. He glanced at the folders that Jane was fixing, and he was astounded when Jane took a folder and gave it to him.

“I'm done checking this folder. I don't want you to know if it's a fraud, but I want you to check it.” Jane smiled.

“I didn't even see you reading this folder. Are you sure that you want me to check this? Or, maybe, you are asking for my help.” Wade touched his chest, assuming that Jane was asking for help because Jane trusted his guts.

“I already know if it's a fraud or not. Wade's, you should stop assuming something because it will hurt you.” Jane's words made Wade think something different. It was too unusual for him to feel that feeling. Does Jane was trying to say something to him?

He felt that his heart was stabbed repeatedly until the blood overflowed came his heart. Wade had never felt that feeling in his entire life, and he was sure he was hurt because he thought about the double meaning of what Jane had told him.

Wade didn't react; he took the folder and tried to read the paper on it. But, even though he tried and tried again, the words were floating in his mind, and he couldn't understand what was written on them.

His phone vibrated, and he aggressively sighed, which made Jane look at him. Wade put the folder, leaving Jane without telling her where he was about to go.

Jane was shocked, and she felt conscious that maybe she had said something not nice to Wade. She licked her lips and waited for twenty minutes, but Wade didn't.

Jane felt that her heart was clenching. She didn't even know that Wade would be offended by her words. She was taught to be more direct to the point because Fontaine was the type of person who liked to say directly to someone.

Jane tried to calm herself because she was asking herself why she was affected that Wade was leaving her. Wade was too sweet, and whenever he was leaving her, he always kissed her and made naughty jokes about what they would do once she got home.

Her hands turned into a fist, and she found herself running to the elevator even though she won't find Wade at the end. She tapped the elevator, and her forehead slowly got sweaty when she thought that the elevator was too slow to come up to the top floor.

She stomped her foot like a child, and with five minutes left, the elevator opened. She was about to enter when Wade was inside it; he had take-out food in his hands. Jane stopped, and her breath wasn't normal when Wade went out.

“Where are you planning to go?” Wade was confused when he talked. He pouted and raised the food that he ordered for the two of them. “I know you're hungry, so I ordered a meal online.”

Jane gasped and touched her chest. She felt that Wade played with her, and she was hurt. Her pain was more painful when Daniel broke up with her.

“If you are about to get the meal, you should tell me that because I thought you were mad at me.” Jane couldn't stop herself from getting mad at Wade, so she turned around and was about to walk when Wade stopped her by hugging her behind her back.

“I was furious when I left you here. I was about to go elsewhere because I was hurt when the delivery guy came. I forgot I ordered food for us, so I came back here.” Wade admitted, which made Jane try to break his grip on her waist.

Jane felt a lump inside her throat, and she couldn't swallow properly. She was scared to admit what she felt, but she wanted to know why Wade reacted like that.

“I-I don't understand why you are mad at me. Why are you hurt? You know I'm not the type who knows what happened to someone. I don't know what's in your mind, and this is why it's too challenging for me. I could distinguish the stock market or the company's profit, but I can't read you.” Jane coughed when she felt the tears in her eyes about to come out. She didn't like to cry, and as the Fontaine, it was forbidden for them to call.

“Because I'm a human, Jane. I'm sorry if I act like a child.” Wade whispered; he turned her around and embraced her again. “You told me to stop assuming some things because it will hurt me. But, seeing your actions and how affected, you were when you thought I left, you made me assume that we both have the same feelings for each other.”

“Tell me, Jane. You made all those efforts to know me better, and it's too fascinating on my part. Seeing you try to read articles about me made me think that we both feel the same way.” Wade added.

“Wade…” Jane was speechless. She wanted to admit everything but to make sure she was right. Slowly, Wade had a place in her heart, and she asked herself if she lolovedim or mayblovedhe liked him.

Jane didn't know that falling to someone after the breakup was too challenging, and she liked it.

“I want to be honest with you. I'm affected and scared when you leave without even telling me. But I don't want to assume that maybe it's love. It may be; I was fascinated with you. I don't want you to get hurt.”

“About what I told you, I'm talking about the paper because you're teasing me that I'm asking for your help to do the work. I'm sorry.”

“I'm sorry if I make you feel that way. It's not my intention to make you feel hurt….” Jane stopped when Wade kissed her. She responded while her tears flowed down her cheeks.

“It fucking hurts to see your crying in front of me. I don't want to see you crying, but I want to ensure that the last time I see you cry is while you're wearing a white dress and slowly walking on me.” Wade promised. He was finally sure that, in the end, he would fight for his love for Jane.

He shut his eyes once again and claimed Jane's lips. He owned Jane like how she held him. Wade didn't know what he would do next if Jane decided to stay away from him. He wanted to ensure that Jane wouldn't be away from his hands.
