Who's the Legal Wife? Chapter 90

Christy smirked when she went to one of the customers. She smiled when she asked them about the food they had prepared, and when she turned around, she saw Jane tasting her wine.

“Oh! Jane, you are here! I didn't know that you liked this kind of restaurant.” Christy glanced at Jane's expensive wine; she quickly went to the vacant seat in front of Jane.

Jane took her phone as if she was trying to neglect Christy's presence. She acted like she was scrolling before she put her phone on the table.

Christy mockingly commented, ”You're acting like one of the Fontaine. I know that you're fake. Maybe, you're sleeping with Leo Fontaine to remove my family from the list.”

Jane blankly stared at Christy. She shook her wine glass elegantly and pursed her lips as if trying to hide her smile. It looked like Christy couldn't accept that she was one of the Fontaine, so she went to her to humiliate her for claiming that she was one of them.

She didn't mind if Christy humiliated her because she knew Christy would be grilled on her fire. Jane's lips rose, and she chuckled.

“Christy, I'm not forcing you to think I'm a Fontanaine. Oh, I forgot to ask you; I'm worried about your family. I think your family is in bankruptcy. That's why you're working here, as a manager, I think? Because I didn't even think you would accept work as a waitress.” Jane said.

Christy's mouth hung open when she heard what Jane had told her. Jane was right that they were facing bankruptcy and that news was a secret to her family.

“You're trying to ruin my family by spreading those lies. Our business isn't bankrupt. Well, it's going well.” Christy decides to defend herself. She didn't want Jane to have the last laugh.

Christy arched her brow, “As a Fontaine, you don't have any business. Maybe, it was true that you were Leo's mistress. Did you always sleep with some older man?”

“Are you trying to defend yourself, Christy? Daniel canceled your wedding, and your family wanted you to marry an older man. Why are you pointing your fingers at me?” Jane grinned when she saw Christy's face fuming mad. Christy clasped her hand and glared at her.

“This is a baseless accusation. I can't sue you for slandering my name.” Christy gnashed her teeth and took Jane's wine glass. She spilled the wine n Jane. She was so mad. Christy took the wine bottle, and she was about to spill the wine again when a hand landed on her cheek.

All of the customers inside the restaurant were shocked when Christy did something nasty to Jane. They were starting to whisper, and Jane didn't notice her parents standing behind Christy.

“You bitch, how dare you slap me? You're a mistress, and you dare to act innocent!” Christy screamed out of her lungs, which made the customers continue murmuring about what had happened to the restaurant.

“Who is the mistress? Are you accusing my daughter without any proof?” Jane's father growled. He was astounded when he heard what Christy had told his lovely daughter.

Christy was surprised; she had never thought Jane had visited the restaurant with her parents. When she glimpsed the man, her eyes widened when she saw it was a Fontaine. She even saw Uriel Fontaine giving her a murderous glare.

“You accused my daughter of sleeping with her cousin to remove your family from the list? Did you think we didn't hear about your allegations against my daughter?” Jane's mother gasped, her eyes pierced, making the affluent customers notice they were Fontaine.

Christy's eyes expanded when her boss went to them. She felt that she would lose her job soon when she saw how her boss glared at her.

“What is happening here? We don't want to disturb other customers from eating their meals.” Christy's boss whispered, so Jane's mother massaged her temple.

“This woman is working at this restaurant. She bullied my daughter, and she even accused her of sleeping with her cousin. We all witnessed how she splashed the wine on my daughter's face! She's a Fontaine; how dare you do this to her? We haven't even slapped her since I gave birth to her!” Mrs. Fontaine clenched her teeth, peeked at Jane, and watched Uriel wiping the wine on her hair.

“N-No, they are all lying. I didn't do anything!” Christy yelled, and her face reddened in embarrassment.

Jane coldly chuckled. She took her phone and played everything that Christy had told her. Christy's face turned pale when she heard what she said, Jane.

“I don't want you to forget whatever you wanted to say. I want to cherish it, so I recorded everything. My money is more than your life; I can buy a useless woman like you! But I won't do that because I won't waste billions to get you.” Jane smiled.

“No! It's all lies, and she made me say that to her!” Christy didn't want to admit it, which made her boss almost have a heart attack.

“Christy! I can't believe that you did this to our customers!”

Jane chuckled. “I didn't finish my one glass of wine because she threw it at me. We will pay for one glass of wine, and the rest you can charge for her."

“This wine costs millions of dollars, and this is my mother's favorite wine. Christy, it looked like you had plenty of money.” Jane added.

Christy felt that she was going to collapse when she heard how much the cost of the wine that Jane ordered was. She didn't know that the wine cost millions of dollars; she even thought it was thousands, not millions.

“No, I won't pay for that expensive wine! I didn't even taste a small amount of it.” Christy's hands turned into a fist when her boss looked at her with big eyes.

Uriel chuckled. “This woman degraded my sister, and you didn't even have any penny in your pocket. Did you go to school? Oh!”

Uriel shook his head when he noticed Christy's face. He understood why Christy acted that way because he saw her in his private investigators' reports.

“You are Daniel More's ex-fiancé. You dared to accuse my sister of being someone's mistress while you're the one who snatched her boyfriend. Are you in your right mind? You are the one who likes to steal someone's man!” Uriel told in a fury. He held Jane's hand, and his lips were straight.

Christy shook her head. “No! You are all liars. I didn't do anything wrong here!”

“Uriel, we should stop. I will ask my attorney to file a case about this. I will rather fight this inside the court.” Jane murmured. Uriel nodded; he took his card and gave it to the boss.

Uriel's face was darkened. It looked like he would hit someone if Christy didn't stop denying everything. “Okay, we will ask for the CCTV footage of this restaurant. If you all try to delete the footage, I will ensure I get some dirt in the restaurant. I will pay for my sister's drink; this bitch will pay for the wine, too.”

Christy's boss's hands trembled to accept the card while Christy's eyes sparkled in tears because she didn't have any money to pay for the wine. She was working to have some cash for her material wants, and now she would have a debt to the restaurant where she worked.

“Christy, you keep telling yourself that I'm not higher than you. From the beginning, you aren't powerful without your family's back, while I'm wealthy without my family's support.” Jane mumbled; she smirked when Christy's tears fell down her cheeks.

“This is your fault. You like starting a fight that you will end up losing. See you in court, but maybe I will change my mind if you beg me for my forgiveness. After all, I'm not heartless.” Jane uttered before she walked to her parents. Mrs. Fontaine hugged Jane while Mr. Fontaine still had a frown on his handsome face

Uriel laughed loudly, “Did you hear what my sister wanted you to do? She wanted you to kneel if you didn't want her to continue suing you."

Jane shook her head when Uriel overreacted again. She called him and told him that she wanted to go home. She forgot that Uriel didn't know she was staying at Wade's house, so she told him she wanted to stay at her parent's house.

Uriel decided to sleep in their mansion when he discovered that Jane would stay there. He called their chef to cook some delicious meals for his sister.

During their whole ride, her mother kept talking about Christy's behavior. Her face was blushing that if Christy was in front of her, she might slap her.

“Uriel, I want you to charge her for physical injury! How dare she hurt my daughter? I never slapped Jan, and she dared to slap my daughter! How could she!”

“She is mad because Leo learned that she hurt me, so Leo removed her family from the list, mom. It's my fault, too.” Jane whispered.

“Oh, so her family is in our company. I don't want to tell them that they deserve it because we all know that we can't celebrate someone's misfortune. Aside from that, her family is an exception to her actions because she's of legal age.” Mrs. Fontaine touched her chest and sighed.

Uriel scowled when he heard what his mother had told them. Mrs. Fontaine was such a great woman and a mother to them. He gripped the steering wheel and glanced at his father as if waiting for his father's wise words.

“Yeah, we aren't like that. Fontaine wasn't like that. You two should listen to your mother because she knows what is right and wrong.” Mr. Fontaine agreed, which made Jane laugh. Sometimes Jane wished that she could have a husband like her father.

Her father was full of wisdom, and he always understood everything.

“Yeah, right!” Uriel was mocked, which made him receive a smack on his head from his mother.

Wade was humming when he went to his house. He glanced at the food he had bought for Jane because he was too excited to see her again. He felt that he had a long day whenever he didn't see Jane in a day.

He took his phone, sent some messages to Jane, and informed her that he was on his way home. He hoped that Jane would reply, but she didn't, which made him think that Jane must be asleep.

When he parked his car, he was whistling when he went inside his house. But, a cold silent house greeted him. His forehead creased.

“Jane?” Wade called Jane several times. He believed that Jane wasn't in his house. He groaned, took his phone, and dialed Jane's phone. He was worried that something terrible might happen to her. Jane's phone rang when someone picked up the call.

“Hello! Who are you?” A man greeted Wade. He was sure that it was not Uriel because he knew what Uriel's tone looked like.

The man laughed, and he heard a lot of voices. “Hey! Jane isn't here. Who is this?”

Wade felt his heart clench. Jane didn't even save his number while he was saving her number on the first list.

“Anton, why are you holding my phone? I don't like it when you're touching my phone without my permission.” Jane's tone roared.

Wade gripped his phone, but he didn't end the call; he wanted to know if Jane had saved his number or not.

“Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know about it. I'm sorry, Jane, if I answered the call.”

“I hate it when someone touches my property. Please, leave me alone.”

“But, is that your boyfriend? I thought you were single, but the name ‘baby’ is in your contact list.”

Wade held his breath as he wanted to jump for joy because of his name on Jane's contact list. He couldn't believe his name was ‘Baby’ on her phone.
