Jane was irritated when she learned her parents had invited other guests to their family party. Her eyes were cold while looking at the son of her parent's friend, Anton. She gripped the utensil, and her lips were in a straight line.
Jane didn't like that someone was known as Fontaine, and now her parents had other plans.
Before the party had begun, Anton answered her phone call. Unfortunately, it was Wade. She was annoyed that Anton did that as if he was her boyfriend!
“Jane is single, right? I think it's better if my son and Jane date so they can sew if they are meant together.” Anton's mother suggested, which made Mrs. Fontaine gasps in excitement.
Jane's eyes turned icy as she held her wine glass but said nothing. She didn't like it but didn't want to humiliate her parents in front of their guests.
Uriel blinked several times before he glimpsed his sister. He sighed deeply because he knew that Jane would be furious because of their mother.
”Well, I wanted my daughter to settle down. I want a grandchild now. I miss caring for the baby, and I hope that Uriel will give me a grandchild a month after his wedding.” Mrs. Fontaine intentionally made Uriel hear what she wished. Uriel almost choked on his food, which made Jane laugh.
Uriel coughed, took the water, and drank it. “Mom, you don't need to pressure me to have kids. I want to ensure my wife will like to have a child.”
“Mom, you know that Uriel dislikes kids. Don't pressure him because he can't give you grandchildren within a month after his wedding.” Jane smirked. She shut her eyes when she remembered that she shouldn't drink wine as long as the doctor didn't permit her.
Jane got her water and drank it. That time, Uriel was watching her, and he was confused because he knew that Jane liked the wine so much. She spent a lot of money to taste some wine, which he always brought for her.
“What about you, Jane? Can you give me–”
Jane almost spits her water when her mother asks her. She groaned while Uriel and Mr. Fontaine wanted to react violently.
”Honey, my daughter is too young, and I want her to enjoy her youth. I don't want her to settle for now.” Mr. Fontaine commented, which widened his eyes at Mrs. Fontaine.
Uriel nodded, and he glimpsed at Jane, who was drinking water again. “I don't want my baby sister to have her family. I want to make sure that the man she chose is good.”
Anton's parents pursed their lips before they looked at Anton, who was looking at Jane intimately. They were shocked when the Fontaine family invited them for dinner. They found out that their young lady's daughter was back, so they wanted to grab the chance to ask for an arranged marriage.
Jane was beautiful, and they were sure that Anton liked her from the moment he saw her.
“I don't settle for now. I want to enjoy being single.” Jane uttered while slicing her steak. Jane wanted to make them know that she didn't have any plans to agree on the arranged marriage they were planning. She didn't like someone trying to control her, especially with her decision. Wade always supported her whenever she wanted something. He let her do what she wanted, which was the man she sought.
Jane was stunned. How could she remember Wade while she was eating at the same table with her family? It looked like Wade entered her life without even noticing it.
“Oh! But you aren't too young. I think you know that women have an expiration date. You can't bear a child if you have menopause.” Anton's mother tried to make Jane change her decision.
Jane smiled. She had a child now, so she was sure that she wouldn't have a problem like what Anton's mother was telling her. “I can freeze my eggs if I'm considering having a child. For now, I don't want to have a boyfriend.”
Jane meant that she didn't want a man, but she was not talking about the baby. She already has it, and she will ensure she takes care of her baby as her parents did for her.
Anton's mother stopped talking about it when they saw how sharp Jane's eyes were. For them, Jane was too intimidating, and if they pushed what they wanted, they were sure that Jane would be suspicious of them.
Uriel smiled because of his sister's answer. He felt relieved and happily ate his food.
The guests left, but before they left, Anton gave his calling card to Jane. He wanted her to message him, and Jane accepted it so that Anton wouldn't be humiliated in front of his family.
But when Jane saw that they weren't in their family, Uriel watched Jane ripping the calling card like how Jane tore Anton's chances.
Mrs. Fontaine was shocked because of what her daughter did, while Mr. Fontaine didn't even react.
“Jane, you're so heartless. Why don't you throw the card in the trash can?” Uriel scratched his forehead and felt terrible for Anton.
Jane smiled, and seeing her smile made Uriel remember Leo, “Brother, I like this damn calling card because I want to. You should be thankful you didn't have a woman like me because you haven't passed my qualifications. Whoever your soon-to-be wife, I'm sure she's blind.”
Uriel's mouth hangs open in a fury. It looked like Jane was trying to step on his pride, and before he reacted, Jane smirked and left them.
“Mom, did you hear what she told me? I can't believe this! I'm handsome, and I have a lot of money!” Uriel exclaimed; he was about to follow Jane when Mr. Fontaine stopped her.
“Stop making fun of your sister. You know that she's the woman version of Leo.” Mr. Fontaine scolded Uriel, making Uriel widen his eyes in disbelief. “And, honey, don't do that again. Jane didn't like that you were talking about marriage. She will hide from us again if you force whatever you want.”
Mr. Fontaine left and went to their room. While Mrs. Fontaine and Uriel we're still at the dining table.
“Mom…” Uriel called his mother, but Mrs. Fontaine glared at him as if he had done something nasty before she left Uriel.
“Mom. I'm your son, too!” Uriel complained. He felt that they were building a team up against him.
Tomorrow came, and Uriel was too excited to meet Jane. He kept knocking on her door when the maid went to him.
“Sir, the young lady isn't in her room. She left early in the morning.” Uriel smacked his forehead. He didn't even know where Jane lived.
Wade couldn't sleep properly and slept late because Jane wasn't beside him. When he woke up, he felt hands embracing him, which made him panic. He was about to yell when he saw Jane was sleeping soundly. He chuckled.
It was almost three in the morning when he slept, so he didn't know when Jane came to their house. Wade hugged Jane, which made Jane slowly open her eyes.
“What time did you go home? I didn't even notice you.” Wade whispered. He moved closer to Jane and claimed her lips. Jane responded even though she was too sleepy.
Jane moaned, which made Wade stop kissing her when he felt that he had a hard-on.
“It was four in the morning when I came back here. I can't sleep in my room, so I went here. I miss you, and I can't sleep because you aren't beside me.” Jane frankly spoke, which made Wade feel that his heart was pounding too fast.
Wade licked his lips, “You aren't the only one who can't sleep that time; I can't sleep properly. It's three in the morning when I successfully take a nap. It's too strange when you aren't with me.”
Wade grabbed Jane's waist. He kissed her cheek, which made Jane close her eyes.
“After the ramp today, I will tell you something.” Jane finally thinks that she should let Wade know about her pregnancy. It's his right, and if Wade didn't want the baby, she could move forward.
Jane thought about it when she was at her parent's house. She felt that Wade had the right to know about their baby, and she wasn't selfish to hide it from him.
“What are you going to say? Don't tell me your parents arranged a marriage for you? That asshole named Anton.” Wade's face darkens. He knew why Anton was with Jane's family, and he was sure that Anton wanted Jane as severely as how he wanted her.
Jane laughed. “Yes, they wanted me to settle down, and Anton's parents wanted me to marry their son. But I decline it. I know my parent didn't force me to a decision I didn't like.”
“I will tell you what I want to say after the ramp. I want to eat with you, so let's discuss it later.” Jane grabbed Wade's nape and claimed his lips.
—
“Congratulations, Ms. Blossom! This ramp is so good!”
“Yeah, I can't believe this,t to thank you for the outfit! I like the style!”
“It's an honor to be part of this ramp! I can't believe this.” The models told Blossom after the ramp. Blossom smiled at them and bowed her head.
“I'm the one who is thankful to all of you. Thank you for giving all your best to this ramp!” Blossom muttered. The ramp was successful because all their clothes were out of stock. Blossom believes believe that after the pain that they sacrifice, the gain comes back to them.
Blossom sweetly smiled when she saw Jane still wearing her sexy outfit. She pursed her lips because she saw how Wade watched Jane walking to the ramp. Blossom knew that Wade and Leo were shocked when they saw Jane walking for her ramp.
“Jane!” Blossom called her, which made Jane startled. She saw that Jane was nervous, so she went closer to her. “Are you alright? You seem that you're thinking about something.”
Jane hardly sighed. “Yeah, I'm fine. I'm nervous because I told Wade to eat with me after this ramp. I want to say to her about the baby.”
Jane tried to lower her voice when she mentioned the baby. She didn't want someone might hear the theme. Blossom nodded and caressed her back.
“Don't be nervous. I do think that he will accept it. I saw him walking to the exit door, but—- he was with a woman. It looked like they both knew each other.” Blossom bit her lips when she said it while Jane hid her expression.
Jane nodded blankly. She was trying to calm herself. She was afraid she would see something terrible, but if she didn't let herself check it, she would regret it sooner.
“I will come with you.” Blossom held her hand, and they both walked to the exit door. Jane felt that her heart was pounding too fast; they both stared at each other when they heard the sound of moans.
Jane stopped. She didn't like to see everything because she thought that hearing how the woman moaned and pleaded made her want to puke.
“Shit! Stop this! I told you that I don't want to marry you! I love someone else.” Wade yelled so loudly. The woman stopped what she was doing.
“You are telling me that because I rejected you several times. Wade, I'm pregnant. You know that I only fucked with you, right?”
Jane froze when she heard what the woman had told Wade. Blossom widened her eyes in surprise. She hugged Jane and calmed her.
“Shut up! I know what you did behind my back, and now you're telling me that your pregnant when it seems a year since we didn't meet each other.”
Jane gnashed her teeth. She was so mad, and what she saw was only red.
