Witch Trilogy I: Alinta Devereaux Chapter 16

"IF YOU WANT TO DIE, THEN DIE! Stop dragging us to your grave!"

Clang!

When I said the pack warriors here were not easy to befriend, I never expected it to be true. During my three days in the pack's eerie and filthy cell, none of those mutts treated me like a VIP. They fed me tasteless and unpleasant foods and expected me to enjoy them. Why don't they try those foods instead? I would gladly watch them do it.

Sighing, I kicked the plate out of the cell. The rats could eat it for all I care.

You were probably wondering how I got into this situation. Well, that was something I was wondering about as well. I could actually leave this place and be done with the Blood Clad Pack, but the mark on my neck didn't like that idea. But, since I couldn't kill Severino (not that I couldn't, I just won't), I considered staying in the dungeon. It was also refreshing for me, the supposed queen of Hex Kingdom, to experience imprisonment.

And---

My magic was in a chaotic condition at the moment. I had difficulty conjuring spells after uttering a death curse in order to fight against Severino's force. As a result, I had no choice other than to remain here.

At the time, I thought I was going to die. I am not yet a full dark witch and have not received extensive training. The spell I used to save my dignity (rather than my life, because I am certain that the asshole wouldn't risk not having an heir for the rest of his useless life) is a simple but powerful spell written in grandma's grimoire. Your opponent would die if you used it correctly. Otherwise, either both of you would perish, or the curse would revert and only you would perish. It felt like you were digging your own grave.

But, who knows? Unexpectedly, but not surprisingly, Severino's force was formidable. My death curse was as strong as his. That was also good. If he was even slightly powerful, the curse would backfire and I'd end up six feet underground.

"Aahhrrr," I groaned as I stretched my joints. I felt tired and sleepy all of a sudden.

Severino Di Stefano

"Alpha, my sister is not at fault; how could you punish her so harshly?" Parviz gritted his teeth. His head was on the ground, and his forehead was bleeding from three days of nonstop kowtowing. Only then did Severino make the decision to face him.

Severino remained seated on his throne, not moving an inch or changing his expression while Cross stood next to him, grinning.

How fascinating, Cross thought, amused. It had only been three days since the new luna arrived, and the siblings were already grovelling on their knees. He couldn't wait to see them beneath the ground. He was tired of their arrogance. It was past time to put them in their proper place.

"I don't think so," Cross said, shaking his head disappointedly. "As we all know, you and your sister have been eyeing the title of 'luna' for some time, and now that someone has taken that place, how could Parza not act out of jealousy?"

"That's ridiculous!" Parviz exclaimed, immediately denying it. Everyone knew Severino despised desperate people. His sister remained in this pack because she never expressed interest in becoming the luna and only acted like Severino's spoiled sister. If she ever did, she'd be slaughtered coldly like the women of the past.

"This will be the last time," Severino declared, "the next time she disturbs my luna, there will be no punishment; I'll have her executed right away."

Parviz felt a shiver run down his spine. The alpha was serious about those words. He could feel it. But his hatred also grew stronger. The alpha was willing to kill her sister for someone they barely knew. He was unable to accept it! A dark thought grew in his mind. Severino would eventually despise her. He'd make certain of it!

Before leaving, Parviz kowtowed once more and thanked Severino. When he was gone, Cross clicked his tongue before saying, "Too bad. I thought it would finally be the end of them," before shrugging, "Oh, well. There would be next time."

Severino glanced at his brother. "Don't be too hasty and obvious about your goal," he advised, "or you might lose."

"I don't think so," Cross replied with a chuckle. "Hmmm? Where are you going?" he inquired as Severino stood up and walked towards the hall's exit.

"I'll be in my room," Severino replied, not looking back. "Check on my luna, and don't forget to reprimand her."

"Are you sure?" Cross asked, leaning against the throne. "I will become her shoulder every time she faces difficulties, someone who is always there when she is in despair," he joked, "but I'm afraid you won't like the ending. She might fall in love with me and end up mating with me." Before Severino could leave, he quickly added, "Don't you want a mate who would only have you?"

Severino came to a halt for a split second before continuing on his way.

Cross tsked. He then shook his head.

Just wait. That poker face brother of his would eventually come to regret not paying attention to his mate.

Alinta Devereaux

For a brief moment, my forehead creased. After which I lifted an eyebrow. Oh, well, well, well. Look who we've got in here. I wasn't expecting such a visitor.

"I hope you're not here to avenge your sister. After all, she was at fault, and I'm already being punished," I spread my arms and looked around to emphasise my point.

But Parviz remained motionless, his face illuminated by the torch hanging at the side of my cell, and he stared at me coldly.

I gave a quick blink. What exactly did this mutt want? I wanted to stand to appear strong, but I was too lazy. I just awoke from a deep sleep and am currently feeling groggy.

Oh, heck! I want to bloody go back to sleep!

My eyelids began to droop. I was about to fall asleep again when I noticed Parviz slowly removing his clothes one by one. I was startled awake.

"Pardon? What are you doing?" my head must have been affected by magic sickness. Otherwise, what the hell am I looking at right now?

Parviz remained silent. He just kept stripping himself.

I couldn't help but gasp when he was finally naked.

"Bitch," he sneered, "Love what you are seei---"

Blargh!

Whatever it was he wanted to say, he couldn't continue as I began gagging.

Oh, my good lord! How revolting! I can't! I simply cannot! Please, someone, save my eyes! Oh, my freaking bloody goodness!

"You!" he exclaimed. He must be feeling offended. However, it was not my fault. He should blame himself for his disgusting appearance.

"Would you please put your clothes on?" I asked politely, not looking at him. I tried not to vomit by covering my mouth with my hand.

I swear I could hear him gritting his teeth. "Never mind," he said, "I'll have you anyway!"

Only when he opened the cell door did I realise the gravity of the situation. Is this jerk planning to humiliate me?

My pupils constricted as I locked my gaze on him. At the same time, my temper was fraying. Taunting and belittling me was one thing, but humiliating me was an entirely different damn story!

I immediately got to my feet. "Think about it, mutt. If you do this, I will assure you that you will die in pain," I threatened, moving away from him gradually.

Parviz laughed. "When I'm done with you, rather than my death, you'll want more of our mating."

I exclaimed. What a filthy mutt!

He then lunged at me. I jumped out to avoid him, but he quickly grabbed my legs, and my face collided with the grimy and dusty ground.

I spit in the dirt and turned to face Parviz. I conjured the ceiling into squares with the last ounce of magic I had, falling directly on Parviz's head. I was able to break free from his grip and run towards the door, only to be met with the ground once more.

Freaking damn it!

Parviz growled, and the next thing I knew, he was biting my neck, forcibly fusing our souls.

"Aaaaa!" I couldn't help but yell, not in pain but in frustration. I'm fucking done with this!

Werewolves! Werewolves! Werewolves! Hah!

I don't give a fuck about my identity anymore! This mutt must be eradicated! I want him to die! And I want his soul to see how I dismember his body! And I'm fucking going to do it!

As the temperature rises, the dust begins to float. My eyes were turning black, and my reddish hair was blending in with my black ones. I turned around and reached for his neck when the wall suddenly blasted into pieces.

Parviz was sent flying.

"Alinta, are you alright?"

I coughed and waved away all the dust that was flying at me. Only after the dust had settled did I notice who had arrived.

"Kara?"
