Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 20

Megan's POV

Unknown words were whispered into my ear in a hushed voice. My face and ear were being tickled by their warm breath. His warm, firm fingers were running through my hair, and I could feel it. My brain began to mush as the tingles seemed to be absorbed by my skin and sent straight into my head. It irked me. I abhorred it to the core. Just one touch of his palm made me feel weak and exposed in his presence. My thoughts went into overdrive and became completely fixated on him with just one touch of his fingers. I wouldn't tolerate it and I couldn't stand for it.

His calloused fingertips glided over my features as the tingles slowly started to spread over my face. He had my hand in the palm of his other hand, shooting those gratingly irritating sparks up my arm. It needed to stop, and I had to.

My body felt heavy, and my mind was still a mush. No matter how hard I tried, my eyelids felt like they were cemented shut and would not open. I gave it all I had to attempt to free my fingers from his hold, but I remained helplessly immobilized. Even though I hadn't even moved a muscle, I felt worn out and drained.

They kept whispering, but my brain was unable to understand what they were saying. My ear first felt his warm breath, then my face, and finally my lips. My lips were stroked by his breathy words, and I could smell the spearmint toothpaste he was using.

"Please." It was the very first word I learned. "Wake up, please." I experienced a moist object touching my cheek and sliding down my face. My collarbone was being kissed by his warm breath as I felt him bury his face in my neck. "I'm pleading with you, please. Just get up.

I felt chilly and disappointed as soon as I heard the brief bangs on the door and saw his face raise my neck. He wiped a tear that had gotten on my cheek, but his hand stayed in my hair. "Come on in."

"Alpha?" I didn't know the man, but he said. "Your parents are getting very agitated and want to know what's happening," I said. He kept talking. "They will come in here and get it out of you if you don't leave soon." An exhausted Alpha sighed.

"This should have been my expectation of them. Tell them I'll be leaving shortly.

The answer is "Yes, Alpha." Alpha sighed once more as I heard the door close. I'm currently on vacation, but I'll be back as soon as I can. My hand was released, and he brought both of them up to my face. Just be OK, please. He gave me a long, gentle kiss on the forehead. I'll speak with you later. He touched my skin with a whisper before leaving. The tingles disappeared with him as soon as his hands left my face, and my body was quickly engulfed in excruciating anguish. I felt like throwing up because my whole body felt as if it were changing for the first time again. I wanted him back right now. I wished he would hold my hand, play with my hair, and numb the ache. I sank back into unconsciousness while fervently pleading with him to arrive and end this agony.

I was unaware of how much time had elapsed when I woke up a second time. This time, I was able to open my eyes, but it took some time before I could move my limbs normally again. My joints hurt with every motion, and my whole body was in severe agony. When I placed any weight on my left arm, a sharp pain raced up my arm, making it difficult for me to sit up. My throat felt as if I had eaten a pound of sand and then dry-swallowed a pill.

A glass of water sat on the stand beside the bed. It was between my flimsy fingers when I reached across and grabbed it; the strain of attempting to hold the weighty thing made my hand tremble. To relieve my painful throat, I brought the glass gently and cautiously to my lips. The fact that the water and glass were still chilly to the touch indicated that they had just been set down.

My throat was still sore after finishing the full glass, but it was considerably better than before. I placed the glass back on the table and barely scanned the space. The room I first woke up in when I got here had the same simple, white walls. A chair had been drawn up close to the bed, and the plastic seat still had the mark of someone who had been sitting there for quite some time. The inside of my elbow and wrist were once again embellished with wires. I grimaced and took the IVs out of my veins, laying the bloodied needles on the mattress.

I rose up, bracing myself against the bed and stepping my bare feet onto the chilly floor. My knees trembled, but I was generally very stable. After a little while, I released the bed, but my knees gave out from the strain of my weight. Thankfully, I stopped myself and leaned back against the bed rather than dropping to the floor.

After a few more minutes, my legs started to feel more normal and nearly totally stopped shaking. I glanced down to assess the harm done to my body, but I stopped when I saw my clothing. I was dressed in a white, men's shirt that almost reached my knees. I like the fragrance of pine and cedar that permeated the area.

I stumbled out of the room and down the hallway, keeping one hand on the wall for stability. I went to the kitchen after following the sound of conversations.

Alpha Jason hadn't yet spotted me as he was facing me from a seat beside the island. His eyes were closed, and black circles were all around them as he rested his head on his hands. A small lady with brown hair was standing next to him and grabbing his shoulder while a tall guy with black hair sat opposite from him. Then, when Alpha opened his eyes, he saw me first.

You shouldn't be getting out of bed, Megan. You could have damaged yourself. He spoke gently, seeming to be sobbing due to the redness and puffiness of his green eyes. The lady released her hold on his shoulder as he got up from the chair. He moved slowly in my direction on purpose. He approached me and gently raised his hand as he did so, waiting to see how I would respond. He wrapped his arm carefully over my back when I didn't react, bracing my weight on me rather than the wall. His arm and hand were radiating warmth at me. Because I could feel the tingles through the cotton fabric and it reduced the discomfort, the mate connection seemed to disregard the fact that I was wearing a shirt.

The dark-haired guy had turned around in his seat and was now concentrating on the exchange between Alpha and I when I looked up. I glanced over at her briefly before locking eyes with her. Both she and I gasped.

She sprang to mind very instantly.
