Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 28

Megan's POV

She was my Little One, and I hugged her near to me. I took long, deep breaths of her perfume, retaining it in my memory and evoking nostalgia. I can still see myself cuddling up to the crying woman and wiping her tears away. When she needed assistance and called me at night, I recall staying up to ensure she wouldn't suffer any damage.

She was the one who looked after me, and I gave her my protection in exchange. She was too young at the time to shift, but guys still took an interest in her. She had unintentionally strayed beyond the boundaries of her pack and was discovered by one of them. She provided food and drink to the "fighters," as they called us, since she could not shift. When all she was doing was caring for them, the other wolves were very unpleasant to her and would snap and snarl at her. I was the only one who even somewhat showed her kindness. She had gotten into trouble so many times by providing me with food and drink when she wasn't permitted to or providing me with extra.

We developed an unshakable, tight friendship over time. Fortunately, she remained the same even as we both matured. Given her small size and relative weakness to the others, My Little One earned the moniker. I had a gut feeling that she would have lost in her first bout if she had altered. She was too good-hearted and innocent of murder, even murdering others for the amusement of evil, nasty people.

She was my pillar. I existed for her. Both of us needed each other very much. I saw her flee that evening as they attempted to burn us alive. I spent years looking, but there was no use. I believed they had located her and reached her before I did. Months were spent grieving for my only friend and thinking she had been brutally killed.

She is now in my arms, nevertheless. She cried frantically on my neck, sending hot tears down my face. I don't give a damn. She returned to me at last. My senses were overpowered by the floral and lavender perfume she was wearing. My wolf calmed down and began to purr in the back of my mind when I realized she was secure.

Cole, as he is now known to me, came forward. He approached us with his arm out, ready to yank her from my grasp. My wolf started to growl loudly as a warning and became quite territorial. Since I just got her back, he won't be stealing her from me.

"You got her crying," He became angry with me. She dislikes being referred to as such. He made another attempt in our direction, but I retreated and snarled even louder while baring some fangs.

Kai pulled her head from my neck and unwrapped her arms around me, saying, "Meg, it's okay. I followed suit and cleaned her red and swollen cheeks of the tears. "Cole wouldn't harm me ever. Mates do not break one another.

As she left the room and moved Cole closer, I continued to cast a wary gaze his way. I was afraid he might lash out and injure her because of the worry and wrath in his eyes. When she approached, he relaxed his body, threw his arms around her tiny waist, and his look changed from one of rage to one I could see was one of pleasure. He pulled her closer while letting out what I saw as a growl and purr combination, which confused me. How could someone who was so enraged not strike out but instead let themselves relax when touched? It completely eludes me.

Cole: "She didn't injure me. Meg, my Meg, is here. Remember, the one who shielded me? who referred to me as "Little One." She carefully massaged his arm from top to bottom.

Cole's beautiful blue eyes immediately opened and fixed themselves on me. Instead of glaring at me in rage, his face now had a countenance I couldn't place. It seemed to go on for too long, and I felt uneasy in his presence.

I said, "Thank you." After a long pause, he finally said. "Thank you for standing guard over her when I couldn't."
