Alpha's Temporary Luna Chapter 61

What Axel told Rebecca was not a simple threat to make her back off. Now that Rebecca showed no penitence in her actions, Axel was compelled to believe he also had to pull strings; the Wesleyain Elders.

During the interrogation, they found about about the Wesleyeian Pack’s current situation. They were to engage in a battle between the Crimson Red. But that was if the Wesleyeain wolves will not be able to find a way to kill the baby in Ramiya’s womb. If their Elders could make that possible, it could stop August’s rage from avenging them.

Most importantly, he could have a chance to make Rebecca taste her own medicine. Indeed. Edward would come after the Western Border if hurt Rebecca. But that was only if he have evidence. If Axel can coerced with the Wesleyeian, he can immediately have one of Edward’s enemies to take the blame.

Of course, he wasn’t actually thinking of killing an innocent wolf right off the bat. The first wave was to scare Rebecca. The actually killing will happen if she won’t stop. It was unfair. But it was Rebecca’s call to make.

“I got sick waiting.” Sophie greeted Axel with a hug. “Why did it take so long, Axel?”

Axel looked down to his beloved. His other hand reached for Sophie’s tiny waist, whilst the other went to her soft and long way hair to caressed it. Sophie’s sweet scene immediately filled his nose.

Axel’s forehead relaxed. His furrowed brows, flattened. Sophie’s hug was enough for Axel to forget about the displeasing talk he had with the Council, and Rebecca. Now, this was his definition of warmth and rest. In which Sophie can make him feel both in a mere hug.

“I had to settle some matters before I send them off.” Axel’s tone was soft, as if he wasn’t roaring with a threatening remark just a few minutes ago.

Sophie looked up to him, smiling. “How about the result? The Council mentioned it, yes?”

Axel’s left hand went from her hair to her cheek. “The result of the guild you establish?”

Sophie nodded. “So, they did. What did they say?”

“They want to send your group to the battlefild, Sophie. We’ll be helping the Wesleyeian wolves with their war. The Elders brought up about bringing some of our healers, and Ernesto suggested you should go with your guild.”

“Go with the guild…” Sophie pulled out from the hug, and clapped, as an idea came to her. “That’s a good opportunity, Axel! If we can gain popularity, more low ranked wolves will have the courage to step up!”

Axel looked down on Sophie. Those were the exact thing he heard from his Elders. “I am not sending you to any battlefield, Sophie. Though, if it’s just the other members, I’ll permit.”

“What? If you’re sending them, then, I’m coming! I stand as their leader!”

“You look happy.” Axel noticed. “It’s a war we’re talking about, Sophie. Not a game.”

“I know…” Sophie held the Alpha’s hand and put it to her right cheek. “But I also want to go and help. Wouldn’t it benefit the whole kingdom?”

“No, Sophie. Besides, you still haven’t explain yourself to me about the guild.” Axel remove his hand from Sophie’s face, to hold her hand. He dragged Sophie with him when he walked towards his table. “It was to help those whom I refused to help, wasn’t it?”

Flora cleared her throat, amidst of the couple’s conversation. They were so focus to each other that they suddenly forgot they were with another wolf inside the den. “I’m going to excuse myself to personally get the approved request paper from the Elders.”

The two, who was a little surprise to have heard another voice, turned to Sophie. It was only then they realized it wasn’t just them inside.

Sophie, nodded her head as her face reflected shyness. “I’m sorry, Flora. You may go.”

Flora just shook her head. She bowed down to the Majesties of the kingdom, before she turned around to take her leave. Sophie’s servant left the den, giving them time to continue their conversation.

Axel sat on his chair, before he pulled Sophie to make her sit on his lap. Now, that it’s just the two of them, Axel felt more comfortable to touch Sophie.

“Where were we?” Chuckling, Sophie asked.

“You’re supposed to explain yourself now…” Axel stared at her face in a close-distance. “You were so mad about what I did but you haven’t told me why you kept your plan to establish a guild hidden.”

“I didn’t plan to keep it. You just didn’t give me any opening to talk about it. Ever since I mentioned about those wolves who lives away from the Capital, you started acting skeptical.”

Sophie leaned her head on Axel’s broad chest, while her hand stayed at his hand, and the other holding on to his firm arm. Axel’s arms automatically move to cage her, as a response. It has been long days after they cuddled like this. They had been in an ignroring session for days that being in that position right now made them feel both longing and yearning.

“Did you plan to push through with the idea even if I forbid you to?”

Sophie slightly shook her head. “I didn’t think you’d refuse to allow it. Besides, the guild isn’t just for them. It’s for everybody. The guild consists of low ranked wolves, but I assure you that they will still be of help. Perhaps, more than you could possibly think of.”

Sophie did not pour physical efforts on it just because she was being optimistic. She wasn’t creating a dream, but a path. It was to solve a social issue, and to help the low ranked wolves to step up. It was hitting two birds with one stone.

Furthermore, just letting the village where Axel refused to give help just didn’t sit right with her. Sophie knew she ahd to do something, and she did.

“I didn’t know you’re capable of executing a plan on your own. Especially without a help from me…” Axel whispered.

“I did receive a help from you. I asked Jacob, Hansel and the others to lend me a hand…” Sophie smiled. “I told them not to tell you, though.”

“You’re using my own men against me.”

“I’m your Luna. Technically, they’re mine, too.”

Axel chuckled and kissed Sophie on top of her head. “Touche.”

Axel and Sophie stayed in their position for several minutes. Axel would have forgot inviting Sophie out to eat lunch, if only Sophie’s stomach didn’t growl from hunger. Sophie stood up. She would have preferred to just stay like that with Axel for an hour, but Axel had already decided.

Axel asked Sophie to go to the Capital to eat. Riding his Limoo, Axel drove and spent his remaining free time with Sophie, before he went back their base to fetch up the Wesleyeian wolves whom he was going to send formally.

With Axel’s trusted men, he send the Wesleyeian wolves within their territory. And at noon that day, Axel announced the alliance, together with the war they will join fourteen days from now. Their warriors were assembled, so were the high ranked healer, to start the preparation.

And the following days after the announcement, made Axel busier than ever. From meeting Efraim himself with the Council, to talk thoroughly about the rules they were to set. Axel was hands on. And perhaps it wasn’t just because of the benefit he will get. It has been a long time since they faced an actual combat, so Axel’s affection towards war has awakened.
