CHAPTER 38
MONTANA'S POV
Turning the next page in the album cleared up everything. The lady in the pictures with him, not only one but a lot, was the love of his life.
I saw written down messages. It was beautiful that he had someone he could call his, but where was she?
I kept watching more pictures until I saw a note. The note was from her to him when I read it.
It explained how sick she was and how she was not getting better and stuff like that, to just summarize everything, I think she died.
Is that why he does not do love anymore? I asked myself.
Because I have noticed, even the girl he sleeps with, it's like he doesn't even let her spend the night or something. Like a fast one and she leaves.
I also wonder if I will be able to change him, maybe because of me, he could love again.
I was so fixed on my thoughts that I did not know when he walked in, Alpha Lincoln, “What do you think you're doing here?”
And that tone did not sound good at all. My eyes widened, and I quickly started putting the album back before he saw me because I backed to the door.
Put his footsteps came close and he caught me. He pulled me up to my feet and growled, “How dare you? I asked what the hell are you doing here and how did you even get in here because I remember locking this door.”
“I'm so sorry, Alpha, I was just roaming and got in here.”
“Then how did you open the door? Did you steal the key, Montana, is that it?” He started accusing me of stealing and so to prove that I was innocent.
I showed him my bobby pin, “That's how I got in,” I said and when he realized what I did he snarled at me.
“Sometimes you do things that disgust me. I said stay the hell away from my life, or past, or anything at all, and you went digging for what? Do you realize that it is not everything about myself you should know, Montana,” he yelled at me.
Here I was, once again, angering him and making him feel disappointed in me. If I keep doing this, will he ever feel love for me or just anger?
“I'm sorry, I did not intend to look through something precious to you, I just mistakenly came across it while in this room”, I sighed softly and looked down.
He pushed me away, and I almost fell, but was able to control my legs and regain my standing position.
He kept staring at the album and I could feel him boil. I could feel how angry he was.
“She was beautiful, gorgeous,” I said softly, hoping that maybe it would calm him down a bit, you know? Reminding him of something so painful yet sweet, like saying she was beautiful and all that, and perhaps he would remember her and calm down.
But the opposite was what happened when he looked at me and warned me, “Do Not Ever Speak About Her Again, Get out.”
“Alpha…”,
“I said get out Montana, I would rather not see you in my sight, you always find ways to make things hard for me. Get. Out!” he ordered.
I apologized once more and left.
What have I done? I just keep complicating things more for myself. Why can't I ever just make him like me or something and not ruin it the next minute?
I guess the whole Victoria thing, and then I went to pull….shit shit shit. I did not even think about that when I… Furthermore, I truly am a fool sporadically. He must be so stressed, I should have just left when I wanted to and not let my curiosity get the best of me.
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
We needed a witch for us to go to the Eclipsed Sanctuary, where they could get the other half of the Soul bound Locket.
It seems like one of my ancestors had found a witch to lock it up there and keep it safe.
It was late now, and after discussing everything with Sean, we called it a night.
I left my office, heading back home and going to check on a chamber I had. It has not been used in a while, but it will be the perfect place for what is going to happen tomorrow.
Heading towards the chamber, I found a door that I always kept locked open, and I was the only one who had the key to that door.
Why and whatever reason it was open… I had no idea.
I went to check, already getting pissed at whoever was inside there, only to find out it was Montana.
Of course, she will have to be the one, she just does not ever listen or follow simple instructions. I did not even show her this part of the Mansion and still, here she was.
I could sense her fear when she heard my voice and despite everything she tried to explain, I just wanted her to leave my sight. Likewise, I was just so tired of her getting in my business.
When she left, I went and inspected the door lock. She knew how to pick locks? Is that not…hmm? I will have to speak to her and warn her about that, even though she said she got lucky.
She will be warned later, not now, I had stuff to do.
I let out a breath, arranging the photo Album and putting it back where it came from.
I left the room and locked it before going to do the inspection I had come here for.
The chamber was good enough, the perfect place for what we will be doing.
Now all we need is a witch.
Who should I call, who should I call…
“Hang on tight Victoria”, I muttered as I called a witch that I knew, “We will come for you soon, just hang on a little bit more,” I whispered as the line was picked.
“Hello? Davina?” I said.
“Alpha, Lincoln, a pleasure to hear from you again. To what do I owe this honor?” she said.
“I could use your help.”
