CHAPTER 49
MONTANA'S POV
The announcer started, "That was quite a game and the winner is Mr. Vincintore. It seems like Mrs. Vincintore had missed."
"What noooooo????!!", I said sadly, really I almost cried I wanted to win badly.
"Mr. Vincintore fired first but Mr. Vincintore dodged and aimed his laser gun as he slid gracefully, the laser beam found its mark just as Mrs. Vincintore recoiled from her missed shot", the announcer concluded.
"This is not fair, one bit", I stamped my food like a child.
"Told you", Alpha Lincoln smirked while resting his gun on his shoulder.
How I wanted to wipe off that smirk from his face with multiple lasers shot at his ugly face.
He was not ugly, but presently he will be ugly until I say otherwise.
I was pouting until he came and helped me, removing my helmet carefully and softly, "would you rather I went easy and let you win?", he asked me.
I shook my head, "Of course not."
"Then stop sulking", he chuckled, "it's your first time, you might get superb one day and beat me."
"I definitely will come back for revenge", I hid my smile.
"Okayyy as compensation, let's have dinner in any place of your choice. What do you say?", he offered.
I smiled widely and nodded happily, "Sounds like a plan. I know a local grill place that would be lovely for dinner."
We left the place, and all through the ride to the place for dinner, we discussed today, and how fun it was. The winning, shooting, heart beating.
"You know, at a point I thought you would win me", Alpha Lincoln said while laughing.
"You did? I guess I have that hold on people", I flipped my hair jokingly.
He gave me a look like, what's doing this one? Why are you feeling yourself too much, and then started laughing and said, "But you didn't."
"Ouchhhh," I said while looking at him and laughing too.
This was the first time we had so much fun like this together and talked this long, even enjoying each other's company.
"Yes just turn right and then park. You will love the food here, I assure you," I said as he nodded.
We got down after parking and worked into the place. Just the way it has always been, it was so cozy and nice, with warm lighting.
It had rustic wooden furnishings, tables and chairs, etc.
"I like the whole setting", Alpha Lincoln complimented them.
"I know right? I do too, plus I'm glad you do."
"Come with me, please, I have a table waiting for you", one of the local grill's staff said to us as we followed her.
We were sitting opposite each other and the chairs with cushions provided additional comfort.
The waiter presented us with a menu with a delightful smile and waited for us to order, and to provide any recommendations or questions if asked.
"I will have your signature grilled steak," I said to the waiter, "And so will my husband", I smiled as I handed her the menu.
"Trust me, you will love it," I said to Alpha Lincoln while he was just smiling.
"What?", I asked him because of the way he was smiling.
"First time hearing you refer to me as your husband and also looking forward to this astonishing grill of yours," he said but stopped the waiter before she could get far, "a bottle of red wine please," he ordered.
"Yes sir", the waiter said and went to get our order.
I only blushed a little at what he said.
From where I was seated, I could perceive the aroma of the sizzling steaks that wafted through the air.
I do not know about Alpha Lincoln, but I could almost taste it.
My stomach rumbled on track, "You feel what I feel, huh?", I spoke to my stomach.
"Don't worry, the food will be here soon", Alpha Lincoln chuckled while eyeing my stomach.
Finally, their signature grilled steak arrived at our table, it looked like a masterpiece as usual.
The succulent steak looked perfectly seasoned and grilled, a feast for the eyes, talk less of the mouth and stomach. Looked so juicy, too.
It was served on a rustic wooden platter and had grilled vegetables on the side and a medley of sauces which would offer a different spectrum of flavors.
"I love the whole serving and look", Alpha Lincoln complimented, getting ready to eat. He looked hungry himself.
We waited for the waiter to do what she was about to do. She poured a rich and savory sauce over the steak, and the tantalizing aroma that swirled around the table was…mm. I gulped.
"Can we eat now?", I said quickly, making Alpha Lincoln and the waiter laugh softly.
"Yes ma'am you can, excuse me", the waiter said with a smile on her face and left.
"Finally," I said wanting to start eating but stopped, "Alpha Lincoln, why don't you take your first bite and tell me what you think?"
"Sure," he said and cut a little steak, mixed with all flavors, and took a bite. I stared at his face for a reaction but was not getting anyone.
I was already getting worried, maybe he did not like it.
"So?", I asked, a bit worked up, 'cause I wanted him to enjoy it the way I do.
But then he shook his head, "I don't like it, no, no", he said and immediately my face got all sad.
"Well that's okay", I smiled, understanding that not everyone must like the same, "we can order something else."
Before you knew it he started smiling and making moaning sounds due to the sweetness of the food, "I was kidding, this is absolutely delicious, how come I have never heard of this place before."
I was so happy to hear that as I chuckled, "Well now you have."
Now, it was the moment for my first bite. When I took it, the steak's juicy tenderness and flavors captivated my taste buds, just the way it should. These people never fail to amaze me with their grill.
We drank the wine, had a few talks, and enjoyed our grill.
What a lovely day.
Finally, we were headed back home, it was already so late but so worth it, every single minute we spent out.
When we got back, everyone was already asleep, Alpha Lincoln and I checked on my kids, and then he escorted me to my room.
I got in and turned to him, "Thanks so much for a wonderful day, and thanks for agreeing to come with me."
"No, thank you for convincing me, I had the best day in years," he said, and it made me so happy.
We stood staring at each other for a few minutes. I was waiting for him to initiate the kiss, but since he didn't, I leaned in, going in for a kiss.
