CHAPTER 50
MONTANA'S POV
As I leaned in for a kiss, I was so close to his lips, but then he averted his face and pushed me away, in a soft way though, not a harsh way.
"We should call it a night, you asked we forget about everything and have fun, that is what I did, please don't assume," he explained.
I nodded, maybe I was rushing things, I should not overwhelm him, I said to myself, "I apologize, umm okay thanks for a wonderful day once again. Goodnight Alpha Lincoln."
"Goodnight Montana", with that, he walked away, heading to his room, I suppose.
I watched him enter his room before I finally shut my door and squealed, "What was that chemistry? What just happened?", I giggled and blushed, making stupid kissing faces.
I fell on my bed, "Today was spectacular", I felt too lazy to shower, but eventually, I did.
I slept off happily.
Finally, a spark in my life.
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
I had fun today. Montana did make my day, wow, I can't remember when last I had this much fun.
I was sincerely glad I tagged along with her. Hanging out with Montana was so much funnier than I had imagined.
But now it seems like she is confusing the whole situation, and I did not want that. I will find a time to talk to her and explain everything to her.
I do not want things to get confused, and she starts thinking that there is more to us or something like that.
She is brave, though, I give her that for trying to kiss me. I wanted to kiss her no doubt, but I just do not know, I just, it is better if everything just ends with that night.
We can't go against the contract, I can't go against the contact I made myself.
Anyway, not to ruin the mood, it was the best day.
Sleeping was so much easier, immediately my head touched my pillow…poof, I zoomed off into a nice sweet sleep.
"Morningggg, you guys sure did have some fun, like when did you even get back", of course, who else than Victoria to discuss it at the breakfast table?
"Very late, it was so much fun. Right, Alpha Lincoln?", Montana said while smiling widely.
I could not help but smile too, "Yes, I admit it was so much fun, all thanks to Montana for making me have the fun."
"Nooo, all thanks to Alpha Lincoln for tagging along with me," Montana said with a smile as she ate her breakfast.
Victoria's just hummed, giving me and Montana a suspicious look.
"Erase whatever thoughts you have, Victoria," I said to her, knowing she was definitely thinking something and might even be up to something.
"Of course dear brother, of course," Victoria said while smiling suspiciously.
"Anyways there is a dinner party next week and our family was invited, of course. So I am informing everyone, dresses, and suits, you know the deal", I made the announcement, "so we all have some time to prepare for this dinner party and look our best, no mask this time."
Everyone noted.
"Montana, we can go do some shopping today, for ourselves and the kids," Victoria said to Montana.
"How about tomorrow?", Montana said.
"That works too, perfect," Victoria agreed as the two ladies smiled at each other.
"I and my best friend, my beloved husband, will have someone make our clothes for us, customized", My parents said, obviously wanting to mimic Victoria and Montana, making everyone at the table laugh or chuckle.
MONTANA'S POV
I stole glances from Alpha Lincoln, but it did not seem like he was stealing from me, or he was going to.
After breakfast, the same usual day, I found out that he was up in his room, working from there or going through stuff.
I was hoping he would want to talk about us or something but nothing at all.
I was already starting to feel bad.
Was I doing too much? Did I say something wrong or scare him away with my stupid behavior?
I just did not know why he had not said anything about that night and us.
I just felt locked in the dark and had no way to come out.
Fine, that's it!
I walked up to his room and knocked.
"Who is it?", he answered from inside.
"Montana, I was hoping we could talk or…"
Before I could finish, he's reply was, "No."
So cold.
"I am busy, and would not like to be disturbed," He said, "Please leave."
Okay…ouch!
"I- okay sorry, sure maybe later we can talk?", I pressed on just a bit, and then the door unlocked, showing Alpha Lincoln.
"I am back to myself, Montana, I know you think we are close now just because of one day out, but we are not close, so stop being so clingy and all that, I need my space."
He just dropped all those on me, making me feel bad and dumbfounded.
"I'm sorry Alpha Lincoln, I should have not over-crossed my boundaries", I apologized sincerely.
I guess I was indeed doing too much, and I did not want that, I need to take my time with him.
"Better", and he shut the door.
I do hope he is not upset with me, I did not mean to make him upset.
Well over the weeks it was the same thing, sometimes we would mingle, and sometimes he would be all cold to me.
I was feeling confused and uncertain about many things between us and sincerely, no matter how much I tried to understand why he treated me that way, I got hurt.
So finally, the day of the dinner party was here, and I made sure to dress beautifully and look beautiful specifically for him.
When I got down the stairs, everyone was complimenting me, but I was more into what he would say.
And instead of him complimenting me, what he said was the last thing I would think he would say.
How could he say that to me?
