CHAPTER 76
MONTANA'S POV
Finn cleared his throat and moved back a bit, respecting my decision.
"I am sorry, I just do not want things to be rushed," I said sincerely, my heart beating in my chest.
"I understand, I apologize if I made you uncomfortable," he said.
"No, no", I smiled and pecked his cheeks, "You did not."
"I am glad then", he smiled back.
"Alright I guess I will see you around. I best go in" I gave a short wave and went into my hotel.
Oh, wow!
I giggled a bit but stopped myself, keeping a serious face as I headed to my room.
"So how was it??", My aunt immediately asked as I stepped in
"This woman," I said in my mind as I laughed, she did not even let me close the door before wanting to know more.
Well, I told her how it went and a little of the sweet details, of course.
Days passed and Finn and I hanged out, I got to know more about him, his personality and I guess he got to know about me. Nothing too deep, though.
We texted when we can, it was fun, nice, sweet.
But soon enough I had to leave New Orleans. Aunt Calista had concluded that we will be leaving for my training the next week and I will need to cut off all contact with anyone and everyone.
She said she had her reasons and it was safer, no distractions. Just like lying low a bit, learning about myself, growing myself.
I understood her and this is what I came for, this is what I wanted.
"We might not be able to see again", I finally told Finn, as we were on an evening stroll around the city.
"What do you mean?", he suddenly stopped us and made me turn.
"Something important came up, and you are not going to hear from me for a long time, I do not know when or if we will ever meet again after today."
"But why? Is it me? Did I do something wrongly, or is something wrong? Tell me?", He asked, sounding worried.
"Actually, it is something personal, and I do not want to talk about it, I am so sorry", I sighed, "I knew this would happen sometime, but it was fun and nice spending time with you, so I did not tell you sooner, I am deeply sorry."
He did not say anything for a while, and I did not either. I actually did not know what to say, except letting him know that I was leaving soon.
"When do you leave?", he asked.
"Next week, early next week," I informed him.
"And I cannot know where you are going or contact you? No Call? No text?", he asked with I think disappointment on his face, or is it sadness or worry?
I shook my head, "None, I am truly sorry, Finn, but this is something that was going to happen even before I met you."
He was kind enough to understand, "I guess if this will be our last night together, we might as well enjoy it. Right?", he smiled.
I smiled back happily and nodded, "Right!"
That night was definitely the best night I had spent with Finn. He made sure we had lots of fun, did so many things, it was like we were building these fun memories together.
I was thrilled, laughing and forgetting about my worries, etc.
We hugged each other tightly as he pecked my cheeks this time around, "Stay safe, Montana, it was lovely meeting you."
We broke the hug and I punched his shoulder playfully, "You too, Finn."
He winked, and I smiled, chuckling and shaking my head.
"Goodbye, Finn."
Saying our goodbyes, I went in. This was the end of my little…umm… I do not know if I should call it romance? Or adventure.
Anyway, that was where it ended, and now I needed to focus, no distractions. The sooner I am done, the faster I can get back to my kids.
Remembering them, oh how much I missed them. How much they would miss me.
"You ready?", Aunt Calista asked as next week came, and we were all packed up. We had gone shopping and gotten everything we would need for this journey of ours.
"Yes I am."
I had done a video, explaining myself to Victoria and saying that I am okay and fine, I did not give full details, though. It was not time yet.
I also dropped a video for my kids, telling them how much I love and miss them and how much I am fighting hard to come back for them.
I waited for Victoria's respond this time, and she sent a video too. She and the kids together. I sniffed when I watched it, I was just happy that they were happy.
"Handsome and beautiful", My Aunt complimented Zane and Zendaya.
I nodded as I listened to them speak. A part of me wished I would see a glance of Lincoln, but I closed my eyes and opened it.
"Gurl do not get your hopes up," I said to myself.
After receiving their message. I erased everything, broke the sim and destroyed the phone. Actually, my Aunt, fried the phone with her magic.
No more contacts!
"Alright let us go, I believe the ride is here," I informed my aunt as we carried everything we need, and I had to pay one of the staff to help us.
We left early as planned, I did not get to see Finn again, but I would not forget our last time together.
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
"Lincoln, you are here", Victoria called out to me as I just got home and was headed to my room, "It is Montana, she sent a video, and she is okay."
I quickly rushed to look at it. I watched the whole video, my eyes searching all over her and making sure she was indeed okay.
And yes, she was, she was even glowing.
I took the phone from Victoria and called the number.
Of course!
I sighed and if not for one thing, I would have crashed the phone with my bare hands.
"Well?", Victoria asked.
