Ava barked in laughter when she heard how Jaxon reacted. What she couldn't believe was the known ruthless and scary Alpha was acting like a jealous man who had stolen a mate. Veronica wasn't even flirting with Veron because she already knew what Veron's attention to her.
She crossed her hands and shook her head, making Jaxon stop angrily talking with her. He frowned because he couldn't understand why Ava was laughing at him.
“Alpha Jaxon, you are so dramatic. I can't believe you are acting this way because of my sister. She's too old and knows what she needs to do.” Ava commented and giggled. She couldn't believe that her plans worked so fast. She was thankful that Veron obeyed her, or else she wouldn't witness how Jaxon acted like a jealous Alpha because of Veron.
“You mentioned that he's a bastard and a lower one, but you are only acting that there's a chance that Veronica might fall in love with him. Well, let's see,” she added. Jaxon's nostrils widened in fury. He felt that he was having a heart attack because of what Ava had been telling him.
“Shut the fuck up,” He gnashed his teeth and clenched his fist. He was thankful to his wolf that he had been reminded that Ava was Veronica's sister, and once he had fought with her, he already knew that Veroniva would be even more mad at him. “I'm the one who's mated to her. I'm her other half. What makes you think that I will let her fall in love with someone else.”
“There is some Alpha who chose their mates and got successful. Did you think that my sister would ever think about you? Well, she might. She will think about how you hurt her. How could you even fuck her in the toilet at Alpha King's party? If I were Veronica, I might not given you another chance. You treat her like trash while Veron can make her a princess, his Queen.”
Jaxon paused for a moment. He couldn't believe that Ava had a point when she mentioned it.
“You fucked her in the middle of the forest. Is she some slut in your eyes, Alpha Jaxon?” she added, which made him gulp in nervousness. He closed his eyes.
How could he treat his mate terribly? Does it mean that Veronica hated him so much because of what he had done to her?
“She's not a slut. She's my Queen, damn it.” He grasped his hair. He couldn't believe that Veronica seemed unfortunate to be with him. He had taken advantage of her while her pack kicked her out in their pack.
The worst was that it was too late when he had realized that it was Veronica that he needed in his life. He tasted the bitterness in his tongue and felt he wanted to punch his face.
“A queen, but you treated her like a slut. Did you forget that? It's better if you will correct what you have done wrong to her. My sister is not some sort of sluts that you can fuck whenever you want. She deserves to be respected; always remember that Alpha Jaxon.” Ava seemed severed whenever she mentioned Veronica. She wasn't doing it because she wanted Jaxon for Veronica but for Morgan.
She didn't even get her chance to see Morgan, even when he was a baby. Veronica was a strong woman who endured how she was treated for the sake of her child.
“I don't know how to do it.” Jaxon had admitted. He felt that he was the most foolish Alpha in the world. He could easily distinguish everything regarding his pack, but he didn't even know how to treat someone like a princess or a Queen.
”It's too easy.” Ava smirked and planned everything with Jaxon. She wanted to ensure that Jaxon would do what she told him to do before they both walked out of the border.
“Ava...”
Ava widened her eyes when she heard James' tone. He seemed agitated when their eyes met for an instant. James rushed towards her direction and glanced at Jaxon.
“What are you two doing in the middle of the woods?” James asked, but there was an accusation in his tone. He held Ava's hand and tightened his grip that, making Ava try to remove his hand. ”I don't even know that you two are close that you planned to meet in the middle of the woods!”
“What's wrong with you?” Ava gritted her teeth in so much irritation. She rolled her eyes and tried to push James away from her. ”I didn't do anything wrong!” she added.
“I'm not asking you if you did something wrong with him. He's your sister's mate. Did you even forget what he had done to Veronica?” James snarled his eyes gleaming in fury that made Jaxon give him a stoic expression.
“Is he your mate, Ava?” Jaxon inquired. He disliked how James gave him a look, but seeing how jealous he was made him think that James was Ava's mate.
“Unfortunately, yes. He's my mate, but we planned to reject each other.” Ava replied as if James wasn't with them anymore. James howled and possessively encircled his hand on her waist.
“What are you talking about, Ava? I didn't even tell you that we rejected each other. Shut the fuck up!” James was annoyed wildly when Jaxon barked with laughter. He was embarrassed, and it seemed that he was the one who wanted Ava alone.
He seemed desperate in Ava's eyes, which made him more aggravated. He still remembered how he planned to reject Ava, and it appeared that Ava was trying to get her revenge on him.
“I find out that you know my Beta. Did you know Uriel?” Jaxon asked and grinned when James cursed him.
“Uriel? I didn't know that you are his Alpha. Yes, we are close with each other, especially Veronica.” Ava was so excited to talk about Uriel that she didn't see how Jaxon's face changed.
“Care to tell us why he seems important to Veronica?” Jaxon tried to hide his emotion, which made James laugh because of him.
“Uriel is madly in love with Veronica. I still remember when we were a child; he was here for protection. He always called her as his princess.” Ava innocently told some stories, and she wasn't aware that Jaxon seemed outraged because of what he had found out.
Uriel didn't even bother to tell him why he knew Veronica. He was the one who concluded that maybe it was because Uriel lived in their pack before they got kicked out.
“They even promise to each other that they will marry each other. Does it mean that Uriel has been with Veronica when she's with you? I can't believe that you didn't even know that they are too close.” Ava kept telling some stories about Uriel and Veronica non-stop.
“She's too dense...” James commented and chuckled when Jaxon gave him a murderous glare.
