After Jaxon heard what Veronica had told him, he felt disrespected and humiliated by her. He growled loudly and tried to calm himself from attacking Veronica again.
Veronica was such a fighter, and now she was acting differently, as if she could fight with him in so many ways, which made Jaxon want to cut the pride and courage that Veronica had. His hand's ball balled into a fist and gave Veronica a warning glare.
“Are you provoking me again, Veronica? It looks like you didn't even learn what you needed to know about what happened before I left this room.” Jaxon was trying to tell Veronica that she must stop because he might end up strangling her again. Veronica realized what Jaxon was trying to say and smirked at him.
“I'm not even provoking you. I'm only saying that you shall not accuse me without a proper---”
“We are the witness that you are in Helene's top! If you are trying to act as a clever woman, then you should know that if you are in court, you will be lost. Where are your witnesses?” Jaxon yelled in so much irritation. He closed his eyes as if he was done with how Veronica was acting.
“Where is your witness? You need to have some evidence that it is Helene who provoke you.” Jaxon added, which made Veronica blink her eyes and hide her emotions. She needed witnesses, but Helene ensured no one could see her talking with Veronica.
Veronica felt lost again. She didn't like her feelings because she thought she could finally win against Helene. Jaxon didn't want to believe in her, so what was the use of trying to explain her side?
Veronica knew that even if he had some witnesses, Jaxon wouldn't still believe in her. Even if she might die because of Helene, Jaxon might think that Helene was only an angel in his eyes.
“See? You don't even have supported witnesses or evidence in your claim. You ask me to be fair to you, but you will still lose this time. Veronica, why don't you apologize to her? Helene went here because she wanted to apologize for what you saw.” Jaxon added, which made Veronica displeased even more.
Veronica discern that Jaxon might be forcing her to say sorry to Helene, but she wouldn't do it even though Jaxon might kill her.
“Is it too hard for your to admit your mistake? How long will you act as prideful? Veronica, did you even think that all of the people you surround are only an enemy?”
“I didn't do anything wrong,” Veronica spoke, which made Jaxon feel his blood boil in rage. Veronica's lips trembled in madness. “I wished that I could kill someone without feeling---”
“What? And now you wanted to become a murderer. Veronica, you are trying to make me see how low you are. You are the Alpha's daughter.” Jaxon uttered in disbelief, which made Uriel tighten his grip on Veronica. Uriel didn't like what Jaxon had been doing to Veronica but didn't dare speak.
Uriel was only the Beta, and Jaxon was the Alpha of their pack. Uriel didn't have the power to correct Jaxon even if he wanted to.
“I want you to say sorry to her. It's too easy! Veronica, do it, or I will ensure you will end up in jail.” Jaxon gritted his teeth. His words made Veronica stunned.
“Alpha...” Uriel called Jaxon, but Jaxon gave him a murderous glare as if he was telling Uriel that he didn't want Uriel to speak on Veronica's side.
“Uriel, what are you trying to do? You are my Beta, and you needed to be supposedly stuck with me. Did you like Veronica? That's why you are trying to defend her?” Jaxon couldn't stop being possessive, especially since Veronica was only his.
“I can't believe you even accused your Beta of liking me.” Veronica paused when Jaxon looked at her. “If Uriel is the Alpha of this pack, I'm sure everything will be fair. He knew how to handle a pack, unlike you..”
“Are you trying to tell me that I should give my throne to Uriel? Veronica, what makes you think your opinion is valid to me.” Jaxon's jaw clenched, and he tried to control his wolf not to hurt Veronica.
Jaxon couldn't understand why Veronica said those words to him. Does Veronica secretly have feelings for Uriel? Jaxon felt that he would like to remove Uriel from his pack because of so much jealousy.
“That's not what I mean. Don't throw my words especially to make me look like a bad woman here.” Veronica replied, which made Jaxon feel the easiness in his heart. Jaxon watched Veronica sigh. He thought that he didn't want to hurt Veronica, but Jaxon was sure that if he didn't do anything to give Helene some justice, Helene might be asked the Alpha King to kill Veronica.
“Jaxon..” Helene continued crying because she wanted to see Veronica asking for her forgiveness. She would do anything to make Veronica regret what she had done to her.
Jaxon glimpsed at Helene and caressed her hair. Helene cried even more, which made Jaxon feel frustrated.
“Veronica! I tell you that I want you to apologize! You are a mother now, and you should tell Morgan that he needed to tell the truth because Morgan will be the new Alpha of this pack!” Jaxon remarked, which made Veronica didnt know what to say.
Veronica was even more furious, especially since Jaxon wanted her to apologize to Helene. Veronica gripped her clothes and smiled. “I will not going to say sorry to her. I don't believe that it's my fault that she thought that I would not going to make everything a big deal. I will rather choose to be arrested than apologize to her.” Veronica replied, which made Jaxon drag Veronica out of her room.
