Jaxon was detested while he was dragging Veronica. He was gritting his teeth that he didn't even care if Veronica might fall from the ground or bump into any complex objects.
All he thought was he was angry, and he needed to teach Veronica a lesson so she should learn the hard way.
Veronica tried her best to maintain her composure. She knew that she pushed Jaxon to his patience, and she was happy to make him feel that way.
‘Jaxon, how can you demand me an apology from your other woman? How dare you! I wished that I would never see you again! I wish that I didn't even look for you to get the support for Morgan!’ Veronica thought while Jaxon was pulling her out of her room.
Veronica couldn't stop to blame herself for choosing a not lovely man to be the father of her child.
Maybe she and Jaxon had met because of the mate bond. Jaxon maybe thought that Veroniva was his mate, so he grabbed the opportunity to be with her.
When Jaxon and Veronica weren't in the hospital, Jaxon tightened his grip while holding Veronica's hand. He doesn't even care if Veronica might get hurt in the end because his mind is filled with anger, and he wants to teach Veronica a lesson.
Jaxon pushed Veronica to jail. He looked at Veronica, who was looking at him without emotions. It looks like Veronica was acting like a fighter in front of him, but Jaxon knew that Veronica was scared about her life.
“If you apologize to Helene, then I will change my decision. Veronica, all you need to do is to say sorry and admit you mistakenly in front of her.” Jaxon said, which made Veronica clenched her teeth and give Jaxon a murderous glare.
Veronica couldn't believe that Jaxon would go to say those words; she was right that Jaxon thought Helene even more!
“I'm only thinking of you. Don't offend Helene because she is the Alpha King's daughter. Are you trying to fight with them?” Jaxon added.
“Alpha, when you said that I needed to apologize to her, it made me realize how unfair you are. You didn't even think to hear my explanation.” Veronica mumbled and shook her head to remove Jaxon's hand by gripping her.
Veronica was upset. She didn't know what she would prioritize, herself or her emotions. What about Morgan?
“I still can't believe you dared do this to me. I swear that I will not going to forget about what happened today! I will do anything to escape from your pack!” Veronica glared at Jaxon as she walked in front of the guards. Those guards were stunned because their Alpha was still not ordering them to do something.
Veronica was standing before the guards; she didn't even see how Jaxon was stunned when Veronica spoke those words.
Escape from his pack? Veronica was stupid if she thought that she could leave Jaxon's pack after he had found out that he was mated with her!
Aside from that, Jaxon felt weird feelings about Veronica, so he didn't like the idea that Veronica was trying to do with him.
“Alpha Jaxon. What will we do to her?” one of the guards finally dared to speak. Jaxon closed his eyes because he felt that he was doing something wrong. He couldn't understand what was the wrong choice that his guts were telling him.
“Put her in the cell. Don't let her eat and drink in three days.” Jaxon decided to be heartless. He was checking if Veronica would complain, but she didn't, which made Jaxon feel infuriated because of her.
Veronica didn't say anything. She only watched one of the guards open the last cell, which made her start walking inside. Veronica removed the pain that she felt and acted like a strong woman.
Veronica was thankful that there was a bed in the last cell, and maybe that was the reason why the guards chose to open this cell so she could still rest at the moment.
“Veronica..” Jaxon paused because he couldn't understand where Veronica got the courage to fight with him. Jaxon knew that Veronica still did not remember her memories. Aside from that, Veronica wasn't a fighter. “You are so full of yourself. What is the reason why you are proud? This is your fault why you are here. I'm only asking you to apologize to Helene, but you acted like I'm asking you to die.”
Jaxon waited for Veronica to say anything, but Veronica wasn't say anything. She was silent when Jaxon decided to leave Veronica in jail. Jaxon stopped while walking and touched his heart when it felt aching. His wolf was acting bizarre because of Veronica.
Jaxon frowned and went to his pack to check about his work in his office. He thought that he needed to distract himself from what he had done to Veronica.
Veronica was lying on the bed, hoping that Morgan would be fine. She didn't want Morgan to know that his father did that to her. After all, their issues were only between her and Jaxon.
Veronica closed her eyes. She didn't even eat before she went to jail, but she could still survive; she was sure of it.
Jaxon was a selfish bastard Alpha in her eyes. He didn't understand why Veronica did everything to be Jaxon's exclusive slut. She took a deep breath and waited for the three days to pass.
When she fell asleep, she heard a heavy footstep coming towards her. She opened her eyes to check who it was. It was Helene, who had a smirk on her face.
“See, Veronica? Jaxon never gives importance to you. What is only important to her is only me.” Helene mocked Veronica and rolled her eyes at her. “How does it feel to be here? Jaxon never did those things to me. Sadly, you are not me.”
