Helene didn't know what the man was doing in Jaxon's pack in the middle of the night. She gulped and looked at Veronica, who was looking at the man, too.
The man stepped inside and couldn't stop himself from checking if Veronica was right. He wanted to ensure Veronica wasn't hurt because someone had told him that Veronica had been rushed to the hospital.
"V-Veron, what are you doing? I didn't even know that you were coming back here. I thought you were too busy with your pack." Helene uttered, which made her want to cover herself because of her brother's presence. Veron furrowed his brow and took off his jacket. He gave it to Helene so she could use it once she left.
"Use this jacket. I don't like that you look like this when you leave this place. Well, I was searching for you because Dad informed me that you stayed here for several days. I'm worried that something bad might happen to you, and one guard told me he saw you coming here." Veron lied because he wasn't searching for Helene. He went directly to the hospital to check if Veronica was right.
Veron couldn't stop looking at Veronica, who was still not looking at him. When Veronica stopped disturbing him, Veron felt that something inside him had gone out. Veron was lost because he couldn't stop himself from running after looking at Veronica's presence.
"I'm about to leave this place. I talked with her, and I don't want her to hope for Jaxon. Did you know that it was Jaxon who put her in this place? Jaxon knew that Veronica was being rushed to the hospital, and he didn't even think twice about pushing her here." Helene acted like she was concerned about Veronica, which made Veron nod.
Veron couldn't stop himself from getting angry with Jaxon. He couldn't understand why Jaxon had everything that he wanted. Veron bit his lips because he couldn't stop himself from wishing that he had Veronica now.
Veron realized that he had hurt Veronica emotionally. Well, he might be blaming Veronica for being the reason why Helene acted like a crazy woman, but that doesn't mean that Veronica didn't get his attention from the moment that he saw her.
Helene cleared her throat. She decided to leave at the moment so she could enjoy Jaxon's company. Veronica bit her lips and watched Helene move out of the dungeon.
"What can I do for you, Prince Veron?" Veronica acted cold, which made Veron stunned for a little moment. Veronica couldn't understand what Veron was doing in the dungeon.
"I found out that you rushed to the hospital. I was about to visit you when someone informed me that you were here in the dungeon. I wanted to talk with you." Veron started and glanced at the entrance of the dungeon. Veron didn't like that Veronica would get hurt because he visited her.
Jaxon was known to be possessive when it came to his wife. Veron knew about it because he still remembered that Jaxon went to their pack before they found out that Veronica had amnesia. Veron gulped when his eyes locked on Veronica's.
"You wanted to know everything. I will tell you. Alpha Jaxon will be mad at me once he finds out I was about to tell you this." Veron cleared his throat when he felt uncomfortable looking into Veronica's eyes. Veronica closed her eyes. She was unhappy about everything.
"I already know everything because Helene told me. Is it true that she is going to marry Jaxon?" Veronica couldn't stop herself from ensuring that Helene was telling her the truth. If Helene was going to be mated with Alpha Jaxon, Veronica was willing to leave Jaxon for her.
Veron was calculating everything. He didn't understand why Helene lied to Veronica, but when he remembered his feelings for her, he finally realized that he needed to be selfish to get her in his hands. Veron gulped.
He was never selfish and did everything to understand that he couldn't get anything that he wanted, even though he was the one who was about to get the throne. Veron understood that his father had high standards, and that was the reason why he agreed to what his father wanted.
Now, he was done being selfless anymore. He could be an excellent father to Veronica's child, like he wanted. Morgan was too easy for him to love, and his heart was too soft when it came to Morgan.
"Yes. She's getting married to Alpha Jaxon. It's a deal, Veronica. I'm sorry you didn't know about it because you lost your memories." Veron answered, and he gulped because he felt guilty. Veron saw how Veronica tried everything to hide her feelings, but she failed.
Veronica wasn't too difficult to read, and Veron liked it even more. Veron still remembered the first time that he saw Veronica, who was with Alpha Jaxon at that time. He couldn't remove his eyes from her, for he thought Helene was more beautiful than Veronica.
"I'm thankful that you informed me, Prince Veron. I'm thinking, "What's the sudden change of your mind? You didn't like me to know everything, and now you came here to tell me the truth." Veronica pursed her lips. Veronica closed her eyes again to stop herself from crying because of Jaxon.
How could Jaxon use her repeatedly? Was it because she had amnesia? Did Jaxon think that she was too easy to play with.
"I decided to tell you because I have an offer for you. Leave this pack with me. I promise that I will help you get back into your life. In your pack." Veron finally dared to tell Veronica what he wanted.
Veronica was speechless when she heard what Veron said. She was confused because she knew that Veron was wasting his time on her. Veronica knew that she needed to do something in return.
"I thought you were a concern to me, but you like to use me as bait." Veronica couldn't hide her disappointment. She thought Veron cared for her, but Veron wanted to use her too. "You wanted to help me because you needed something I needed to do in return. Veron, why are you all treating me like this?"
"I want you to marry me, Veronica. You both wanted revenge on them, then used me." Veron announced, which made Veronica feel how her heart thumped so fast.
