Veronica panicked when Jaxon's canines touched her skin. She closed her eyes; her lips trembled while her heart was thumping too fast, leading her tears to fall even more from her cheeks. Veronica’s vision is slowly getting blurred. All she thought was to escape from Jaxon’s arms.
"N..No!" Veronica struggled when Jaxon licked her neck. Jaxon made her feel the sensations of his canines. "Alpha Jaxon, this is not right." Veronica made sure that Jaxon would hear her plea.
"This is right because you are the future Luna of this pack. Veronica, stop testing my patience because I will not think twice about making Morgan out of this pack. It seems you didn’t love our child. Jaxon mumbled.
Hatred came into Veronica’s heart. She felt how stone-hearted Jaxon was. Morgan was his child, but he still used Morgan to control her! Veronica gritted her teeth. She felt disgusted because of what Jaxon had done.
Veronica wished that she hadn’t even seen Jaxon that night. She secretly wished that it was another man. She wished she remembered everything about her past because she felt disappointed by her life's decisions.
Veronica blamed herself for letting Jaxon treat him terribly. She blamed herself because she had tolerated what Jaxon had been doing to her since she went to Jaxon’s pack with Morgan.
"You are mine... Tell me the name of the man, Veronica." Jaxon ordered, lowered his head, and opened his mouth. Veronica knew that Jaxon would do what he wanted, so she had no choice but to say Veron’s name. Veronica felt sorry for Veron because what Veron wanted was to help her.
"Helene visited me that night. She’s wearing lingerie because she is planning to seduce you." Veronica started. Veronica wanted to make sure that Jaxon wouldn’t see that there was something wrong with her answer. "Helene made me feel so mad. How dare she!"
Jaxon was stunned. He blinked his eyes repeatedly to make sure that he was witnessing how Veronica was getting jealous of Helene. Identifying that Veronica was envious because of Helene made Jaxon’s heart jump with joy.
Jaxon moved his head away from Veronica, but he hugged her tightly. Veronica groaned when she felt the tension again in their room.

"Continue what you are going to say. You didn’t mention the man who visited you.” Jaxon glimpsed at Veronica using his fiery sight. He moved his head and smelled Veronica’s scent to calm him. "Veronica.." Jaxon murmured Veronica’s name.
Veronica swallowed hard. She looked away, but her eyes returned to Jaxon when Jaxon held her chin. Veronica’s tears fell, and Jaxon wiped her tears with a strange emotion in his eyes.
"Helene mocked me as usual. That time, Veron came in. He was searching for Helene at the time. Veron found out that Helene would sleep in this pack. He is worried. That’s it." Veronica added to her answer. She didn’t want Jaxon to see that she didn’t tell him why Veron came to her.
She was the actual reason why Veron came to Jaxon’s pack, but he didn’t want him to get hurt by Jaxon. Veronica didn’t remove her sight from Jaxon, who glared at her when she mentioned Veron.
"Did you call him? Veronica, I swear that I'm not forgiving If you lie to me, I profess I will throw you out!" Jaxon couldn’t handle the jealousy that he felt because of Veronica. He was about to stand up when Veronica grabbed his head. Jaxon almost fell on Veronica’s top. "Veronica, are you trying to stop me because you love him?" Jaxon added.
Veronica closed her eyes. She moved her head closer to Jaxon. Veronica smashed her lips against Jaxon's, and she didn’t even see that Jaxon was startled because of what she did. Jaxon licked his lips when Veronica freed them.
"You are trying to dig your own grave. Are you trying to use the kiss to stop me from harming your other man? Did you even think I didn’t know Veron came to the hospital?" Jaxon acted like a covetous child who was throwing tantrums at his mother. He clenched his teeth and tried to stand up when Veronica stopped him once again with a kiss.
Because of his frustration, Jaxon sucked Veronica’s lips and turned her simple kiss into a torrid one. Jaxon wanted Veronica to feel how much he craved her. Jaxon entered his tongue inside Veronica’s mouth.
