Covet Me, My Heartless Alpha Chapter 71

Veronica stepped back when she noticed the familiarity with the two adult people looking at her. She gulped when she felt her throat getting dry.

“What? Are you for real? I--- I don't even know that I have a sister.” She said in disbelief. She shook her head and laughed terribly. She noticed how her sister looked presentable, and she couldn't stop to pity herself. She bit her lips when her lips trembled.

“Veronica, I don't believe that you didn't even know me. I'm your favorite sister! I know that you are mad at me because I was the one who replaced you to be the Alpha of our pack, but it doesn't mean that I did wrong to get the throne.” Ava exclaimed; her eyes were full of sadness; she thought that Veronica was acting like she didn't even know her.

Veronica lowered her head. She licked her lips and placed to where Jaxon was. She didn't even know that her father was glaring at Jaxon, who was too busy talking with another guest.

“I can't believe that you betray our pack, Veronica.” Her father started, and his wife touched his hand to stop him from talking with Veronica in madness.

Ava's face turned pale, and she looked at her father before she said, “Dad, we are in the Alpha King's party. We can calmly talk to Veronica. Let's stop our conclusion that she betray us.”

“What are you talking about? I don't understand because I didn't even know you, and this man...” Veronica pointed to the man that Ava called her father. She scowled when she felt the pain in her head. She almost fell, but Ava quickly helped her.

“Veronica...” Ava called her. Ava finally believed that her sister, Veronica had amnesia. She felt terrible even more, especially since their pack members thought that she was about to blame for snatching the throne in Veronica's hands. “Let's talk again tomorrow,” Ava added.

“Ava, stop this. Your sister finally decided to choose that heartless Alpha over her family!” Her father gritted his teeth. He couldn't believe that his daughter, whom he used to adore, was like a personal slut of Alpha Jaxon. “She didn't even think that Alpha Jaxon was only using her,” he added.

“W.. What? Why did he need to use me? You are my father. Tell me.” Veronica's voice cracked when she heard how harsh her father was to her. Ava gasped and kept telling her not to listen to their father. “I don't even know what is happening to me. Why there's a lot of people who hate me? Did I do wrong?" she added.

“This is not the right place to talk about this. Alpha Jaxon might see you talking with us. He's our enemy. He's our MORTAL enemy.” her sister answered, which made her gasp. She didn't even know that their pack was the enemy of Jaxon's pack.

“You are known as the successor of our pack. He got you pregnant, and that's why they kicked you out of the pack. Veronica, why did you need to live with him? Did you even think that he is using you?”

“He wants to get our pack, and Dad kept protecting our pack from him. He was obsessed with our land that he got you pregnant to remove you as the Alpha of our pack.” Ava held her hands, and her words were like a piercing that stabbed her heart. She was confused, and she didn't even know what she would say to Ava.

“A...Are you telling me the truth? I'm sorry, I don't even know..” She paused when she felt her tears want to come out. She closed her eyes to prevent her from crying, but she failed. She felt Ava wiping her tears. “I don't remember everything; I'm trying to investigate my identity, but no one even tries to tell me.”

“You can't blame them for not trying to tell you the truth. I think they are scared that Jaxon will be angry with them. Veronica, Jaxon is a dangerous man. He didn't even know how to love someone, and his heart is made of stone!” Ava lowered her tone and pulled Veronica closer to her.

“I will ask someone to fetch you. Do something so we can talk again. I want to ask for your number.”

In a last glance, she looked at her father, who gave her a glimpse. She felt how sad her father was, and she couldn't stop blaming herself. How did she not even know that Alpha Jaxon was the mortal enemy of their pack? Jaxon didn't even tell her; all she knew was that she was the Alpha's daughter.

“Hey! I'm sorry, they kept asking me a lot of things. Are you alright? Did you cry?” Jaxon grabbed her hand, which made her wipe the tears from her eyes. He looked at her curiously and looked around to see who the last person she talked with was.

“Why are you crying? Did someone belittle you here? Do you want me to kill them for you?” he whispered, which made her almost tremble. She couldn't believe it was too easy for him to kill someone. She thinks that people who make mistakes deserve to get second chances.

She bit her lips when he gave her a look again. “Alpha Jaxon, you don't need to kill someone for me. I don't want your hands to get dirty because of me,” she mumbled.

He was stunned when he heard what she answered. He couldn't believe that she didn't even think about herself and only thought about the person he would kill.
