Covet Me, My Heartless Alpha Chapter 75

He was begging Veronica not to leave him, but she acted blind. He gasped when he woke up and panting violently. He felt his nightmare was absolute, and he was frightened that Veronica might escape from his pack.

“Alpha!”

His eyes landed on the door when he heard Uriel calling him. He strolled to the door, and opened it. Uriel seemed worried. He gulped as his heart thumped too fast.

“What's wrong? Beta, ensure this is too important, or else I will strangle you!” He didn't even intentionally warn Uriel; it was his response whenever Uriel knocked at the door in the middle of the night.

“Alpha, the north part of the land is burning.” Uriel started talking; he looked serious, “It looks like someone is trying to burn our land.”

“Investigate whoever it is.” Jaxon replied, giving Uriel a smug look, “Is there any news about Morgan? Veronica is worried about him.”

“We still can't find him. If he is lost, there is the possibility that he will die.”

“What did you say? I didn't permit you to conclude that my son is dead.”

“Alpha, I'm telling you the truth. Morgan is a kid; he still doesn't have his wolf. You know that there are a lot of wild animals outside, and aside from that, it is raining heavily. Did you think that he could survive those things?”

“Uriel!” Jaxon roared. His canines were showing as his eyes gleamed in anger. He didn't like what he heard. Morgan wasn't too close to him, but he loved him.

He huffed, and his hands formed into a first before he continued, “I didn't ask you to conclude without even giving me actual evidence. My son is still alive, and he isn't dead. His body isn't found yet, but we can still see him!”

Uriel bowed his head before he whispered, “I'm sorry, Alpha. It looks like I didn't do my work correctly. I will search for him, and I will do anything to find--”

“Alpha!”

Uriel didn't finish what he would say when a guard rushed in their direction. They both looked at the guard, who was kneeling in front of Jaxon.

“Luna is missing. The pack doctor informed us that he went inside her room to make her take her medicines, but they didn't find her.” The guard announced.

Jaxon widened his eyes and rushed out of his room. He didn't mind if he only wore boxer shorts because what was important to him was to chase Veronica.

“Uriel, I want you to assign some guards at the borderline! Do everything to stop her from leaving this pack!” he commanded.

Anxiousness instantly crept into his system. He seemed scared that Veronica successfully run away from his pack.

Veronica was panting as she ran away from the pack hospital. She gasped when a branch hit her face, making her try to stop herself from wincing.

She was barefoot, and the floor was too slippery because of the heavy rain.

“Veronica!” Her eyes expanded when she heard Jaxon's calling her name. She gnashed her teeth and continued running when she heard some heavy footsteps coming in her direction.

“She's here! I already find her.”

“Veronica, get back here!” Jaxon screamed once again. She didn't even try to turn around. She was sure that Jaxon was following her.

The rain started, and the wind gave her chills in the cold. She moaned when she slipped onto the muddy part and didn't let her stop.

She paused when she saw the end part, which was a cliff. She swallowed as she heard Jaxon coming towards her. Uriel was looking at her with worried.

“What are you doing, Veronica? Are you out of your mind?” Jaxon snapped and took a few steps.

“Don't you dare come closer to me, Jaxon! You are the most useless Alpha I have ever known! If you step one more, I will jump onto this cliff!” She screamed. She closed her eyes when the rain didn't stop. She was soaking wet and shivered when she finally felt how cold it was outside.

“Don't you dare jump! We will find Morgan! I will do anything to find him.” Jaxon felt weak when Veronica gazed at him without remorse.

“This is all your fault. I did everything to make you satisfied so my son would get the life that he deserves, but you are worthless. I fucking hate you so much that I would rather be with you!”

“Veronica, you are mad. That's why you're telling me that. Please, let's talk about these.”

“No! You are trying to manipulate me. You motherfucker!” She shook her head and felt that she lost her mind. “I will fucking kill you and that bitch! I will ensure you will experience what I experienced in your hands. I regret that I trust you!”

She stepped back again when she noticed that Uriel was trying to do something while Jaxon was trying to distract her. She closed her eyes, and she wasn't scared to jump.

Thunder struck the tree again as the wind started hitting her face.

“Veronica, please, let's talk. Don't do this.”

“We're already talking, Jaxon.” she clenched her jaw and gave Uriel a death look. “You will lose your son, and you will lose your mate, too.”

“Veronica!” Jaxon screamed out of his lung when Veronica fell from the cliff. He ran towards her to grab her hand, but Veronica fell too fast.
