“No! Veronica!” Jaxon yelled, knelt on the muddy ground when he felt how his chest clenched. His wolf was howling inside him, grieving for losing his mate.
“Search for her! Do everything to find her!” Uriel commanded; he seemed worried about Veronica.
Jaxon felt his eyes moistened. He thought that he lose someone was too important for him. What was happening to him? Why did he need to lose everyone in his life?
Morgan was missing. He was worried for his son, and now, Veronica jumped from the cliff because of desperate to escape from his hands.
He looked up at the sky and noticed the rain stopped falling. The moon was giving him a light, making him realize that he was the jerk. He didn't do anything to treat Veronica with care and love. He only treated her as the receiver of his cum.
“U-Uriel, do something. I want her alive.”
Veronica's body fell in the middle of the sea. Her eyes were opened, and she slowly formed a smile on her lips. She imagined Morgan waiting for her in eternal life.
His child, Morgan, was waving his hands at her.
Her mouth parted as she slowly felt suffocated. She wished that she would turn back the time that she didn't meet Jaxon. She didn't regret that she had Morgan in her life.
If she didn't go to Jaxon's pack and inform him that he got her pregnant, she might be happy with Morgan.
‘M-Morgan...’
Ava looked at her parents, who weren't listening to her. She was the Alpha of their pack, but she wasn't happy at all.
All her life. She was always compared to her older sister, Veronica. She thought she would be happy if Veronica left the pack, but she was wrong. When she saw her sister, she was worried and missed her so much.
“Alpha, you can't change the law. If you are doing this because of Veronica, the elders will find out about this.”
“I agreed. They are always trying to stop us from leading this pack.”
Ava clenched her fist. She didn't like what she heard her parents say. She was doing those things because of Veronica because Veronica deserved to get the title of being an Alpha.
“They are the ones who break the law. Did they think that I didn't know about it? I need to change everything. They must be out of this pack.” Ava gritted her teeth in anger. The corner of her lips rose as she thought about what she would do with the elder.
“If we didn't have an evidence, then we can create an evidence. You all know the rules of this pack. Traitors didn't have a place here.” Ava added, clapping her hand as if she finally got a successful idea in her mind.
“You're crazy! They are the elders, and no one will like to expose them. I know what they are doing, and if you try to remove them, you are trying to dig your own grave, Ava.” Her father angrily exclaimed.
“They are the ones who are doing nasty in our pack. As an Alpha, I need to be fair and do everyone. It's part of the laws.” Ava answered back and crossed her arms. She stared at her father, who was too stubborn.
“Aren't you guilty that you kick your daughter because of them? Veronica is your favorite daughter, and I know you missed her so much. I will not do this, especially when I saw her with Alpha Jaxon, but...” She paused, making her father gulp in suspense.
“I know that she's not happy there. I find out that she caught Jaxon cheating on her with Helene. Are you sure you want her to suffer in your enemy's hands? You used to cherish and love her. You protected her as long as you could...” she added.
“What are you saying? Helene? The daughter of the Alpha King?” Her mother clenched her jaw and gave her mate a death stare.
Ava nodded and sat on her chair. She took a deep breath before she continued, “Alpha Jaxon is only playing with your daughter. It's because of you.”
“Alpha!” The guards rushed in her direction. Ava stood up and walked to the guard. She frowned when she noticed that it was the guard that she had assigned to look for Veronica in Alpha Jaxon's pack.
“What happened? Did they find out that you are---”
“No, Alpha. It's about Veronica.” The guard seemed worried, and Ava sighed. She looked at her parents, who looked like they were waiting for the guard to continue what he was supposed to say.
“I want to talk with him alone.” Ava was trying to test her father.
“She's my daughter! Why are you trying to hide everything from us?” Her father gritted his teeth in madness. He was aware that Ava was trying to push his limits.
“When she returned from the Alpha King's pack, her son was missing. We still can't find that child. It looks like Alpha Jaxon's rival killed him.” The guards started, making Ava's mother gasp.
Ava clenched her hands. Her heart was beating rapidly, and she felt she was about to collapse. She felt that there was something terrible happened to her sister!
“What about Veronica?”
“Alpha...” The guard knelt before he continued, “She jumped out from the cliff. Alpha Jaxon is looking for her body, but we can't find her because there was a heavy storm when she went to the cliff. They thought she was dead.”
Ava was stunned when she heard the news. Her eyes moistened, and she tried to stop crying.
No. She knew that Veronica was still alive. She was her sister!
“Mom, why are you crying? She's not dead!” Ava screamed in frustration. Her mother was grieving while her father was trying his best not to expose that she was worried for Veronica.
“Beta, I want to get Veronica as soon as possible. Don't let Alpha Jaxon take her.”
Ava had a lot of men who could search so fast. She hoped that she would get Veronica first before Jaxon found her.
She hardly breathed before she peeked at her father and said, “That's what I'm telling you. Choose. Your family or that bullshit group of elders that you want to please. Is it okay with you that they trapped Veronica in Alpha Jaxon's pack? They deserved to be punished!”
Veron came inside the Alpha King's pack. He stared at Helene, who was smiling at him. He smiled back and shook his head.
He didn't know why his sister looked pleased. He wanted to know.
“My princess seems to have a good mood. Is it okay if I ask you who is the reason why---”
“Veron, I am.” Helene laughed, making Veron stunned for a little moment. “Veronica is dead. Her child is dead, too.”
“What are you talking about, Helene?”
“She jumped from the cliff when she discovered her child was missing. There is a possibility that bastard is dead.” Helene felt no sympathy when she uttered those words making Veron astounded.
“Finally, Jaxon will be mine again. I'm happy I can be his Luna now,” she added.
Helene didn't wait for her brother to react. It wasn't too important for her. She left and started singing as she went to her room.
While Veron didn't know what he would say, he touched his chest and remembered his feelings when he took Veronica.
He felt a pang in his chest. He closed his eyes and turned around. He needed to leave their pack as soon as possible.
He couldn't understand why he seemed worried about Veronica. She wasn't his mate, but Veronica had a unique spot in his heart.
“Search for Veronica. Do everything. I want her to be alive.” he ordered to his Beta.
Veronica was sleeping on a wide bed. It had been weeks since someone found her in the middle of the shore. She was unconscious at that time, and it looked the moon goddess didn't want her to leave the world without even getting the justice that she deserved to get.
