“This is hilarious. We are all aware that you're a slut our enemy's pack. Are you trying to make fun of us? What makes you think that we will accept you as the Alpha if you can't even protect your own son?” One of the elders exclaimed, making Veronica gritted her teeth in anger. How could they talk about her son as if she was an unworthy mother?
She did everything for Morgan. She endured to be with Jaxon for a long time because she was thinking about his right, as the successor of Jaxon's pack.
“Shut up!” Her teeth clenched in anger, and she took a deep breath to calm herself. She wouldn't like to lose against them. She needed the pack so she could go back, and slapped Jaxon so that she wouldn't be the dumb Veronica that he knew.
“I agreed with him. You can't protect your flesh and blood. What will you do to our pack?” Another elder uttered and laughed as he took the wine glass.
Veronica watched the other elders take their wine glasses, and drink the wine in them. They seemed pleased that they were making fun of her.
She was thankful that they were laughing at her because she wouldn't be guilty if she fought them back. She stared at the ceiling and began counting in her head.
She already gave them a chance but they wanted it. She yawned as if she was trying to make them see that she was sleepy while they were watching them.
“It's like hitting two birds with one stone. You used me as a sacrificial lamb to Jaxon, and throw me away when you all found out that I was pregnant by his child.” She mumbled, and her eyes formed tears. She couldn't believe that those elders that she respected since she was a child, did this to her.
“Yes, you're right. As the future Alpha of this pack, you need to be clever not stupid like what you did. We plotted everything for we think that you're smart enough to grab the opportunity to kill him.”
“Does it mean that you all committed a crime against me? What will the pack members think after this?” She smiled sweetly when the elders were astonished when they immediately admitted what they had done to her. She tapped the table and grinned.
She doesn't want them to notice that she was uneasy. If the elders noticed it, she would be doomed.
Veron told her that she should act like she was the mastermind of the game. She was the one who was controlling, and intimidating them. It might be too easy when she thought about it, but she knew that everything wasn't easy.
She was prepared, and Ava helped her, too. She was glad that Ava honestly told her what she felt whenever she was around. She hoped that she would bond with her only sister.
“Yes, we planned everything. Why do we need to be scared of a slut like you? Did you think that they will believe you once you report it to the Alpha? Those pack members are too dumb like you! They will do everything that will please us!”
“Shut up, motherfucker! How dare you say those words to the people who trust all of you?” She gnashed her teeth in madness. She felt bad for the pack members who treated them right. They abused their power. They thought that they were more powerful than the Alpha of their pack.
“Stop acting like you care about them. Veronica, you're the daughter of the Alpha of this pack, and it's humiliating that you're here. We will tell this to the Alpha, and we will tell to those stupid pack members that you're an unworthy mother who chose to throw your child, just only to be fucked by that heartless Alpha!”
Veronica laughed, and shook her head, “Go. Tell them. I'm not scared. I think you all must be nervous since you all admitted that you're the mastermind of why I ended up with Alpha Jaxon that time. Let's see if they will all believe in you, or let's see if you all have a chance to badmouth me. I'm sure that the pill that I put in your glasses is effective.”
She pursed her lips when the elders were stunned. They seemed frightened because of what they heard. She crossed her leg and took her wine glass. She tasted it while she was closing her eyes.
“This wine taste so good that you all didn't notice that there are pills inside. Is it amazing? Let's see if you will all die or end up getting alive. Well, if there is someone who will be alive, he is still unfortunate because these pills can make him paralyzed for the rest of his life. He will witness how this pack will rise because of me.” she added and cackled.
