The elders gazed at the wine, and they trembled when they realized that they drunk a lot of wine. They were all aware that the wine was quite expensive, and that's why they enjoyed it.
“I still remember that those pack members did everything to get that wine. It's helpful. I never thought that wine will be a great pawn to my plans. You are all stupid for drinking it. You all think that I'm stupid, then I'm only trying to make you all see that I'm clever too.” She finished drinking the wine in one gulp. She clapped her hands and took the bottle again. She grinned and looked at the elders.
“Veronica, you're a monster! We are the elders, and you're trying to kill us!”
“Yes, she's a monster! She's not the daughter of the Alpha, I think.”
“Argh...” One of the elders fell, making some of them scream in horror. The man was vomiting while he was unconscious.
“This is unacceptable!”
“Let's call the Alpha!”
“She's a murderer!”
The elders didn't know what they were going to do especially when another man, fall unconscious on the floor. Veronica watched how they panicked. It was entertaining on her part.
She made a buzzing sound and tapped the table. The sound of her tapped, made the elders worried. Anytime, they might be dead.
“Veronica, please help us. We will do everything just to get the antidote of this shit.”
“Yes, Veronica. We will talk to Alpha Ava to get the throne back in your hands. Just tell us where the antidote is.”
“Veronica!” They started screaming in fear when another man fall unconscious on the floor. Veronica took a deep breath before she took the scroll that she hide below the table.
“Relax, I can give the antidote if you will all sign these. I want your blood to make sure that you all will not deceive me once again.” Veronica laughed and threw the scroll to the elders. They quickly checked the scroll and gulped when they saw what was the content written inside.
“Time is clicking. It will not stop even if you all die." Veronica was trying to rush them. She chuckled when they all tried to snatch the pen between one another. She watched them getting panicked because of the antidote.
“We already finish signing everything. We all cut our palms. Just, give us the antidote.” One of the elders shrieked, and he fell from the floor. Most of the elders screamed in horror when they saw another two fall.
Veronica took the scroll and checked if they already signed everything before she called Ava. The elders were speechless, but they didn't even do something to protest.
“Oh! Wow! They are all stupid to sign this. You are cool, Veronica. Finally, I can have my vacation.” Ava commented and peeked at the elders who were paled.
Veronica nodded her head and took one bottle of an antidote. “Sadly, I only do one bottle. I thought you will all die today, and I plan to spare one life here.”
“Veronica! How dare you play with us? We already signed the will, and you didn't want to help us.”
“It's better not to help you all. Our pack already knows how scheming you all.” Veronica throw the bottle from the top, and the elders pushed each other to get the antidote. Veronica stood up and pulled Ava to leave the room.
They didn't witness how the elders grieved when the antidote fell from the floor. They started to fight and blame each other.
“Wait, I didn't know that you put poison in their wine. Is it the only antidote that you make?” Ava asked.
Veronica stopped from walking, and smiled before she answered, “I only put sleeping pills. I didn't put poison in the wine. That antidote thing is only vinegar with a little amount of water. Command the guards to arrest them all.”
“You're so nasty! I thought you will kill them.” Ava finally sighed in relief.
“Ava, killing them is like the easiest way for them to escape the consequence of their bad deeds. It's their conscience that will haunt them after this. They will not get the peaceful, and powerful like they ever got because I already removed their chance.” Veronica answered and took the scroll. They continued walking back to the pack house, and when they were too near at the pack house. Veronica's step turned slow when she saw Veron, who was waiting for her patiently.
“Oh! It looks your another man is waiting for his chance. Veronica, I want to remind you that we will revenge for what Jaxon had done to you. For now, you don't need another man who will break your heart.” Ava commented and seemed severe when she spoke.
Veronica didn't say anything because she had a goal. Being with Veron wasn't part of her plans.
