Covet Me, My Heartless Alpha Chapter 83

Veronica took a deep breath when she glanced at the man who was watching her from cutting the ingredient. She was uncomfortable, and she felt that she wanted the man to leave him alone.

“Why are you stopping from cutting it? I want to make sure that you will not dare to put some poison in my food. Am I bad?”

“You're not bad. You are only skeptical. It's fine but is it okay with you to move away from me? I felt uncomfortable.”

“I don't feel uncomfortable. It's your problem, and not mine. Did you think that I'm sympathetic to my student? You are here to learn something from me. I wanted to make sure that you aren't bait.”

“What? I can't understand what you mean. Do you have an enemy that you're trying to hide?”

“I have a lot. They were bad on me because I was too stunning in their eyes. They were scared that I might steal their mates.” He smirked and suppressed his laughter.

She hardly breathed and stabbed the knife. She was done with it. “I want to cook peacefully. Leave me alone. I can all of this food if you didn't trust me enough.”

“But I am starving. Did you know how long I was waiting for you to wake up?” He crossed his arms and arched his brow. He tapped the table, and continued, “I want you to stop yourself to get distracted but be vigilant. Means, you don't need to be drawn away because of my presence but you will make sure that you know my every move.”

“How is that possible? I don't think that I can do that.” She stopped cutting again and glimpsed in the man's direction. She was confused why the man wasn't still introducing himself to her. If he would be her master, then she had the right to demand to know his name as well.

The man already knew about him. He interviewed her for everything to make sure that she was the right person that he needed to help.

“It's possible if you believe in it. How could you even do it if you say that you can't make it? What's the use that you go here?” The man seemed irritated and signaled her to continue what she was doing. She obeyed her, and while she was focusing on cutting. While she was preoccupied, two knives came in her direction, creating a small cut from her neck, and to her face.

Her eyes expanded in horror. She couldn't believe that she almost died because of the man who was too near to her.

“You need to make sure that you're safe in your surroundings too. There is a perfect percent that you will die too fast. Shit! Why aren't you using your freaking brain?” The man exclaimed and left her.

She paused and noticed how her hands trembling in panic. She almost lost her life but the man had the point.

Jaxon and Helene were so heartless, and there was a possibility that someone might try to kill her like what happened to her when she lost her memories.

She continued cooking what she needed to cook and used the spatula to stop the knife from going in her direction. She heard loud applause, and the man came out.

“We can eat now. That's good, I think you're a fast learner. It's better if you can learn everything too fast, you will not waste my energy from teaching you.” The man sarcastically stated. He was pulling the chair when Veronica took the knife and threw it in the man's direction. The man easily avoided it and whistled.

His eyes were sparkling as if he finally got his perfect playmate. They both eat their food and have a rest to prepare themselves for the training.

“You're late for two minutes. Did you even know that I don't like to wait here? I want you to be here first before me.” Veronica was panting while the man was yelling at him. She couldn't wake up early because she sleeps late because of her dream.

It was about Morgan. It seemed Morgan was trying to help her from finding him. The man crossed his arms and clenched his jaw.

“Start running. I want you to climb there.” The man pointed out the tip of the falls. She gulped. She didn't know if she could do it but she needed to try especially since the man was raising his brow and shooed him.

She glanced at every stone and saw that the man was watching her. She did her best to finally came to the top part of the falls. Her legs were shaking in tiredness.

“Come on, Veronica. I know that you can do this!” The man shouted, and she felt confident. As she tried to step on the stone, she screamed out of her lungs when her feet slipped.

“Damn it!” She cursed and continued going up. She was panting while the man was watching her every move.

She was thankful that despite that the man being strict, he was supportive. Veronica held another stone, and she successfully slipped once again. Her body fell from the water, and she tried to swim but her body reacted opposite.

She felt that she couldn't swim anymore, especially what happened to her on the cliff. She tried to move her hands and felt that her body betrayed her once again.

Her body was screamed in water especially if that water was too deep. Her lips hung open, and her eyes widened. She trembled as the body was getting inside her.

The man was waiting for Veronica to swim back from the top but Veronica wasn't back yet. Worry came into his heart.

“Veronica!” He yelled and jumped into the water. He was worried that she might be dead because of the training that she prepared for her.
