“Shut the fuck up!” It was the only word that she uttered before she quickly ran away from James. Her words made James part his lips in disbelief. He couldn't believe that there was someone who wasn't too afraid of him, but he didn't like to settle with someone that he didn't know.
Mate's bond made the Alpha weak. That was what he thought especially when he had found out that Veronica's sister was his mate. He couldn't believe that he had a mate despite that he didn't even try to find his mate.
“Hey!” James shouted but he was so late because Ava already came inside Veronica's room. He didn't like to disturb Veronica because he was sure that Veronica might ask him about her sister. After all, he finally had a friendly relationship with her despite that he was so strict when he was teaching her.
He hardly breathed when he felt how his chest clenched in pain. “Damn it! I hate these feelings!” he whispered in anger.
He disliked the mate bond because he knew how painful it was when losing someone, and he didn't like to experience it again. He groaned, and his hands turned into a fist.
He decided to sleep early so he could see Ava, and talk to her alone. He didn't like that he had been an asshole towards her but he didn't like to accept her as her mate.
Ava gasped and bit her lips to suppress the sobs that were about to come out from her mouth. She doesn't like to wake up Veronica especially when her sister needed to recover. She lay beside Veronica and hugged her tightly. She closed her eyes, and let her tears come out of her eyes.
“Don't cry, Veronica. He's an asshole! I can't believe that he's our mate!”
She smiled when her wolf started communicating with her. It seemed that her wolf didn't like the idea that she was mistreated by her mate. She was thankful for having a good, and sympathetic wolf when it comes to her.
“You are right. He's an asshole. I can't believe that we mated with him. Maybe, he has a small dick!”
“You're right. I can sense that he has a small dick and that's the reason why he didn't like us. We need something long enough!”
“Don't give me a dirty idea, come on!”
“But it's you who mentioned that he has a short dick!”
“It's because I'm bitter that there is someone who is too ready to reject us. We deserve to be treated right and with love. I want a mate who can respect us!”
“We want the same thing. Don't worry, he will regret that he said those words to us!”
“How he will regret it if he already decided to reject us? I think it's better if I will leave the house early, and went back in our pack.“
“I didn't know that you're too scared to get rejected.”
She rolled her eyes when her wolf spoke those words. She decided to leave early and made sure that James wouldn't see her when he woke up.
When she made sure that James already sleeping, she quickly wrote a letter to Veronica that she was needed in their pack before she left. It was dark outside and saw her Beta rushing towards her.
“Let's go. What makes you decide to leave early? Did you forget that you promised your mother that she will be back in the pack?” Her Beta mumbled while they were walking in the middle of the dark.
“I will tell her that Veronica didn't like to go home if she didn't perfect everything. She will understand it because it is for the pack,” she whispered and coughed when she felt the coldness enveloping her body.
James woke up too early and waited for Ava but he frowned when it was only Veronica who came out from her room. He was confused. He was sure that Ava came into Veronica's room but it seemed she left too early.
“Are you checking my sister? She needs to go back home. She says that something came up in the pack, and her Beta fetch her here.” Veronica informed him while she was doing her chores for the morning. James swallowed but he didn't say anything after that.
“Did you two talk with each other? I find out that she's mated with you...” Veronica added that made James swallow in anxiety. He looked away because he was surprised that Veronica was aware that he was mated with her sister.
“We both didn't talk. I decided to talk to her right now but she left...” James answered and hoped that Veronica wouldn't notice why Ava left his home too fast.
“Ava is dedicated to her work, that's why I can't understand why she wants me to get the pack from her hands. Although, she's telling me that it is because I'm older than her, she's a great leader. I hope that you will give her a chance to prove herself.” Veronica severely let out, James was stunned after he heard those words.
“She's capable of being your mate... Always remember that.” Veronica added and continued what she was doing. She didn't notice that James seemed lost because he was sure that he broke Ava's heart too fast.
After 2 years...
“Finally, Veronica you can come back to your home!” James exclaimed and hugged Veronica tightly. Veronica laughed but didn't say anything in return. She changed a lot, especially her body.
The curves of her body were more showed, and it seemed her breast was in the best shape after the training.
“Let's go! I'm sure that your sister is waiting for you!” James uttered that made Veronica smirk at him.
Veronica acted like she didn't know why James wanted to go in her pack. She would be having her pack ceremony, and she decided to make sure that it would be a secret, and only her pack knew. It was Ava who handled everything and made sure that whatever she wanted would happen.
“Ava is waiting for me. I know that you want to see her too.” Veronica grinned as she spoke those words. James paused for a moment but didn't say anything to defend himself.
As soon as they reached their pack house, it was Ava who greeted them with the man beside her. James stopped and felt how his heart clenched in pain again.
“Veronica!” Ava rushed to Veronica and hugged her. She didn't even bother to give James the attention that he had deserve. “It's good to see you! Mom is screaming in excitement for you! Dad might be hiding, I'm sure of that!”
“I'm thankful that you are the one who greeted me first. I came here with James in case you didn't see him.” Veronica was being sarcastic that made Ava stunned and gave James her attention.
Ava coughed because of awkwardness but she greeted James. She didn't know if she would hug him, or give her hands. James only nodded without even saying anything because his eyes landed on Ava's man, who was standing beside her.
“I--I didn't know that James will come with you,” she whispered, but James already heard her.
“I want to surprise all of you. He's my teacher, so it will be fine if he will witness how I will be the Alpha of this pack. Aside from that, I already have plans to be his ally. He's a great help for us.”
“What do you mean, Veronica?
“James is an Alpha. He only likes teaching someone but he's the Alpha of the next land here.” Veronica answered with a smirk on her lips.
Ava gulped, but did her best not to show that she was affected. She didn't know that James was an Alpha. Her thoughts stopped when her friend, Adam held her hand.
“Honey, why you didn't even introduce me to your sister?” Adam muttered which made James give a blank expression.
