Seeing Fiona’s domain, Adrian decided to try it as well, he used his domain but this time he didn’t spread it out.
The domain stuck to his body like a tight body suit making his body glow with a faint silver light.
He could feel its durability, he felt like he was wearing a tight unbreakable armour yet that armour still cracked.
The strength of a semi-divine realm domain was too strong, he was not Fiona who was at level 8.
Crack, the crack on his domain widened and the domain shattered like glass but Adrian wasn’t disappointed.
The fact that it lasted even a few seconds was amazing in itself, while he could tell the domain had its weaknesses, it had its strengths as well.
A domain like this would be useless for people like Annie, Suzie or Naija who are either long or mid range fighters.
However for those like Melissa, it was the only logical domain to have. ’ It seems to resemble the domain of Gadra to an extent.’
He thought to himself then turned his attention to the battle happening in front of them.
Adrian could barely see anything, disregarding the ghost fog created by Eve’s domain.
Fiona was moving too fast and each of her punches shook the sky itself making it seem as if the semi-divine realm was going to crumble.
Yet it did not even crack, Adrian received a telepathic message from Meggie, he grabbed Annie and retreated.
It seemed Annie hadn’t fully registered what’s happening, her shoulders were shivering.
Seeing her friend like this must’ve shaken her, he sighed and flew to the big called Cane.
Adrian naturally remembers him as well, before the boy could react he grabbed him and flew away.
The ghosts surrounding them did not react, even the ones who appeared to be protecting Cane did not stop him.
’ It seems they can tell I have no malice towards the boy.’ Adrian flew tens of kilometres away.
He cast a barrier around them hoping to block the impact he was certain was coming but the barrier shattered instantly.
The suppression of the semi-divine realm was growing stronger, Eve was taking this seriously now.
Meggie watched as Fiona battled Eve, she had given her iron knuckles soaked in salt otherwise Fiona would not be able to harm Eve.
While the two were battling it out, she tried to steal the key that was in the midst of forming or at least destroy it.
However the countless ghosts around surged like a flood preventing her from taking a step forward.
She tried teleporting but the space inside the semi-divine realm seems to be suppressed, teleporting was impossible.
Meggie already knew this, after all she had her own semi-divine realm before her power dropped.
Meggie cast spell after spell, even though they were weakened by the semi-divine realm.
Her spells were still powerful enough to take out thousands of ghosts at once, at least temporarily since they just come back a few seconds later.
This made her frustrated, her esper was dwindling rapidly and at this rate, she would be dead in an hour.
Flames and lightning roared from the sky descending like pillars, watching this from the distance even Adrian shivered let alone Cane.
To him he was watching a battle between Gods and his sister was one of those Gods, it was both amazing and terrifying.
Cane was still a teenager and he loved video games, something like this would’ve driven him insane with excitement had he not been so close.
Not to mention the unsettling ghosts standing around them silently, he looked at the two protecting him.
He recognised Annie, after all Eve had brought her home once when he was a kid and he saw her.
He saw her multiple times after that at different places with Eve including in photos on Eve’s phone.
Cane wanted to say something, for somebody to explain with clarity what exactly was going on.
But seeing the grim looks of the two he didn’t say anything and just sat there quietly shivering.
Meggie on the other hand realised continuing like this would not work, she was getting even further from the key.
The Grieved Souls continued their weeping which was getting louder, it sounded like a hum at this point.
An unsettling hum that made even her blood run cold. She knew if she was standing in the centre of that circle, her fate would not be different.
The target eventually died, all the blood in his body leaked out of his eyes and condensed on the ground.
Meggie saw his soul which was invisible to normal people, it thrashed and struggled as if reaching out for something.
She couldn’t see it but she knew what it was, the soul was reaching out for a ripper but no ripper would be foolish enough to interfere here.
After all, they took were a form of death spirits but one born out of the aura of the underworld rather than a soul.
Rippers were merely guides of the souls, their power could not rival that of a Bloody Mary, not even a vessel.
The soul was sucked into the swirling orb of blood, the orb condensed further becoming a solid sphere the size of a fist.
The last key took form and the entire semi-divine realm shook, it cracked allowing them to see the outside.
The clouds on the sky above churned and thunder flashed, bolts of lightning descended like spears.
The world was screaming for a calamity was about to descend. ’ Is it impossible, can’t we really stop the apocalypse?’ she gritted her teeth.
’ No no I have to stop it.’ she looked back at Adrian standing there protectively in front of Annie and Cane.
Meggie’s eyes turned resolute, ’ I will stop it.’ she drew more power from inside to cast a massive spell.
But before she could, she saw Eve pick up the key, Fiona lay on the ground facing up, she was not moving.
Meggie cast the spell even faster, the sounds of a thousand whispering voices echoed through the semi-divine realm.
This spell not only demanded a high price but it had a long casting time as well but it was her only option at this point.
However she has underestimated Eve, the eleven other keys flew out forming a ring in front of Eve.
The ring spun rapidly moving faster and faster then nothing. What followed was silence.
A crack appeared in space and through it Meggie saw an unnaturally beautiful face of a woman with her eyes closed.
" No." She whispered with despair.
