This caught Annie and Adrian by suprise, the werewolf led them deeper into the desolate city.
The temperature inside the city was extremely cold, frost could be seen on the road and even the walls.
They were led to the city lord’s mansion, this was a small city within the territory of a weak kingdom ruled by a weaker variant of tiger shifters.
So the city lord’s mansion was just a larger house but nothing like a mansion or a palace as one would expect from of a noble.
As soon as they got in they heard the crying of children who were kneeling over the bodies of their parents.
Some of those children were babies no older than a few months. ’ It seems there’s a sound and scent blocking magic around this mansion.’
Adrian thought to himself, he looked at the children and lost interest, none of them would be useful in gathering information.
That was until one came from another room carrying a tray of food, she was slightly older, around 11 or 12 years old.
Adrian beckoned her, " Come here little girl." He called her, the child looked terrified and her tail dropped in fear.
Her ears dropped as well and she slowly walked towards Adrian, he noticed by her tail and ears, she was some sort of canine shifter.
’ It seems there are too many shifters in this world.’ he was right, there were even different variants of shifters who came from the same animals.
So while Adrian could recognise she was a canine shifter, he couldn’t exactly tell from which breed she came from.

Bedaleya looked up at the handsome man before her but her knees were shaking, she felt an overwhelming urge to kneel.
She couldn’t explain it but this man felt like a god to her, like she was standing before the moon itself.
She had felt suppressed and awed by the other two and the woman next to this man was even greater.
Her presence made her soul feel like it was freezing yet the feeling was soothing like a cold moon light brushing off the fires on her skin.
But the man was different, he was a flood that seemed to be about to drown her, like how soft water can shatter mountains when it have enough volume and speed.
Just as she was about to go down on her knees she met his face, he had bent down to her level.
He smiled gently and that smile almost shattered her, she felt her heart beating rapidly.
The urge to kneel and worship this man was growing even stronger. " What’s your name?" He asked.
She could hear him but at the same time, his voice felt distant and as vast as the sky. She was looking at him but she couldn’t tell when the voice came from.
At least not through her ears, in her mind it sounded like it came from all directions and from within her own bones.
" Go... God." She found herself whispering before she could stop herself. Bedaleya clasped her mouth with her hands.
The man sighed in disappointment and the thought of disappointing him made her want to kill herself.
Suddenly she heard a beautiful soft giggle and the woman touched the man’s shoulder.
" You’re scaring her Adrian, let me talk to her." The woman said replacing the man, her heart calmed down a bit.
Even so, she was incredibly nervous in front of this woman but at least she could talk to her without choking to death.

Adrian watched Annie take the girl to another room to talk to her. He frowned from the noise.
" I should’ve brought Louis." He whispered to himself. ’ She’s much better with kids than I am.’ Adrian thought.
Then he snapped his fingers isolating himself, the crying of the children was much louder to him.
He couldn’t take it and isolated the sound using a barrier type ability. It wasn’t long before Annie came back looking grim.
" As expected, the girl said the people around the city started screaming ghosts, they went crazy.
This happened slowly, not at once as we had expected and strangely, only they could see those ghosts.
They started wailing and apologising, in a few days nearly half the town was showing those signs.
As the days went by thru started dying, I read her memories to confirm and nobody lasted two days.
The problem is, while this was happening, nobody could leave the city, a heavy fog had surrounded the city.
Within that fog were apparently monsters, the girl didn’t seem them herself but her father was a city guard and a level 1 warrior."
" Warrior?" He asked.
" Yeah, Fayera who had leant to control their esper and awaken their racial abilities or gain a certain level of strength are called warriors.
Not every Fayera can fight even though they’ve born with esper unlike humans, that esper is dormant in most Fayera races.
This is especially true to shifters who are considered one of the weakest races in the world.
Of course as you know, not all shifters are weak, some are born incredibly strong, werewolves are an example of that."
He shook his head, " I’m not exactly so sure we’re shifters anymore but I’ll explain that later, proceed."
She looked at him strangely but continued explaining, " Her father was found dead soon after.
This sent her mother to a spiral and two days later, she started screaming about seeing her dead husband like the others.
Two days after that started, her mother died in the exact same way her father died leaving the girl alone devastated."
" I see, so it’s true that Bloody Mary can transfer fate but that’s strange, if the father resurrected, why abandon his daughter?"
Annie sighed, " Nobody resurrected Adrian, it’s strange but none of the ghosts actually came back."
This confused Adrian, " That doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t fit the knowledge of Bloody Mary we have."
She nodded, " Yeah, it seems we need to learn more about her before we can take action.
If we’ll even need to, her actions are bound the draw attention from those old monsters, they won’t just sit back."
" We can’t be sure of that, trusting those old fools would be a mistake, if they wanted to take action.
They would’ve stopped Eve from obtaining the keys from the start but you didn’t see them there did you?"
She nodded, " You’re right, which means it’s most likely up to us but there’s another thing bothering me.
From the memories of the girl, not everybody went crazy, they were completely fine before they died."
" So you think something else killed them?" He asked, the older of the Omega stood forward.
" About that my lord, we checked their bodies, there’s nothing wrong with them, they just stopped breathing."
