Hearing that, both Adrian and Annie went to check the bodies and as he said, the bodies had nothing wrong with them.
" It as if their souls were ripped out of their bodies." He whispered, he remembered when his own soul was almost pulled out.
He shivered just thinking about but as soon as he did, his head started pounding like he was being hit by a hammer.
’ Damnit.’ he cussed and used his telepathy to lock the memories of that thing behind a cage in his mind.
His expression did not change so Annie and the others didn’t see anything wrong with him.
" We need to arrange for these kids to be taken care of."
"There’s a mid sized city 300 kilometres from here, my lady, we can lead them there, surely there are enough orphanages to take care of them."
The werewolf suggested but Adrian didn’t agree " I have a better idea, these kids fit the criteria."
He grinned slightly and Annie just sighed, " You’re not using kids Adrian, that’s just cruel."
" I’m giving them a lifeline, most of these kids are Fayera so we can’t turn them but that makes them perfect.
They won’t even need camouflage rings to walk freely unlike us and they’re capable of getting closer to the high races without being detected.
Or rather, detecting them won’t matter since they’re not us."
Annie’s face changed, " Adrian they are kids, you can’t really expect them to be spies for you."
" Of course, they’re too weak and incompetent right now but they’ll grow, we’ll train them.
I don’t get why you’re so against this, they’ll be taught and provided for, we can give them a much better life than any orphanage.
And you know how powerless girls and women are treated in this world, it’s much worse than the human world.
I’ll give them the opportunity to grasp their own fates with their own hands, if it will make you happy.
Then I’ll make it their choice, if they refuse I’ll just wipe their memories and let them live their lives as they wish."
She nodded, the two werewolves arranged everything, they were given funds to either buy or start an orphanage.
Women were hired to take care of the kids and two members of Suzie’s lineage were sent to lead the orphanage.
Kids at or above five started training, it was disguised as a physical class but anybody who knows anything could see those were assassin skills.
A few weeks went by, after small city, Mary’s trail got cold, she was a spirit and could naturally appear and disappear anywhere.
It was nearly impossible to track her the traditional way, Adrian had informed Meggie of what had happened.
Meggie explained the reason why the others died without seeing any ghosts and it was more terrifying than they first thought.
According to her, Mary was a saint and she died because of lies so the one thing she hated just as much as murderers were liers.
However if those liers don’t fit the criteria for a fate transference, then she would personally kill them.
" What do you mean by liers, what type of lie must one tell you deserve a death sentence?" Adrian asked.
" Any lie, that’s what makes her so terrifying, even a white lie is a lie to her, even if you lie to protect people, it’s still a lie.
She doesn’t differentiate between lies." Meggie saw their grim faces and smiled reassuringly.
" Don’t worry, this doesn’t fit within the power of her law so she has to personally kill you but that also means you can resist her.
Mary herself isn’t strong anyways but she has her spirit echo guards." Adrian looked confused.
" What are spirits echo guards?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
" I’ll first explain the soul, the soul is made up of three parts, the most inner part called th codex.
This is like DNA of the soul, each individual has a different codex, even twins cannot have the same codex.
When people talk about reincarnation, the codex is what goes through the gates of reincarnation.
Then there’s the spirit, this is what most people think the soul is, it’s the source of your consciousness.
Memories, feelings etc come from here. Most scientists mistake it for the brain since it resides there.
But as you know, even without a body and brain, spirits can still think and feel emotions.
These two are formless in a sense, that’s why a human can reincarnate as a rat, so why do spirits have form?
That’s because of the final piece, it’s mostly just called the shell. It’s what holds both the codex and spirits together.
The shell contains everything else including abilities, whether awakened of bloodline abilities.
Vengeful spirits actually don’t have spirits anymore, their spirits have deteriorate over time leaving a shell.
That’s why they attack everything and appear to be mindless savages. Mary’s guards are the same.
They’re created through the lingering shells of spirits, they have no intelligence or any thinking capabilities.
They are akin to powerful drones immune to physical attacks, taking them down in nearly impossible.
Especially since she can easily recreate them whenever she feels like it."
Meggie’s explanation was long but it made the two of them grim. " It seems dealing with this thing will be much harder than expected."
Meggie nodded, " So, when you hear news of her, don’t take action, call me immediately okay."
They both nodded, honestly they were kind of wary of dealing with Bloody Mary by themselves.
Meggie looked at Adrian with soft eyes for a few seconds then teleported away before he could ask what’s wrong with her.
" Was she acting weird, is it me or was she acting weird?" He asked Annie who just shrugged.

In the human world, in a corner of the smallest continent stretching for merely 9 thousand kilometres.
There was a small town called Alloya, it was a mining town situated close to a massive mountain range.
Right now, a couple stood at the centre of this town which was now devoid of any living human.
Multiple helicopters circled above them and black cars surrounded the town with police cars preventing anybody from coming in.
The entire town was covered in frost, " It seems the witch was right, the Bloody Mary has come but why would our superiors hide that, surely they sensed when her cage opened."
The woman wondered out loud but her partner didn’t answer for he too could not understand the thought of his superiors.
" Let’s clean this up, what lie will we tell the public this time?" He asked and she shrugged.
" We’ll leave that to the Sapienta, those big brains of theirs will think of something."
