Fated Mate 2 Chapter 7

"Kira dear, are you okay?" Aunt Layla asked as soon as she walked into Kira's room. She had knocked a few times but when she didn't get any response, she decided to check for herself to be sure that Kira was doing okay. She happened to run into Kira earlier and she could immediately sense that something was wrong with her even though Kira had denied it.

"Kira, can you hear me?" she asked again when she noticed that Kira wasn't responding to her. When Kira said nothing, she quickly moved closer to her and tapped her a little aggressively to snap her out of her thoughts.

Kira is shocked to see her auntie in front of her as she did not see anyone coming in. "When did you get in here auntie and how did you get in?" she asked, and her question only made Layla even more worried.

"Are you being serious with me right now Kira? Did you really not notice when I walked in? I knocked on the door a few times and when you weren't responding, I decided to check up on you to make sure that you were doing okay. I even called out your name a few times, but I guess you didn't hear a word I said. This is very unusual on your path Kira. What's going on with you?" Layla asked, genuinely concerned.

"I'm sorry I didn't hear you calling auntie. I've had a really long day and I guess I'm just too tired and worn out to pay attention to my surroundings. I'll be more alert next time," Kira said, avoiding replying to her aunt's question. She knew very well that she was not okay and that she had about a million and one thoughts running through her mind and she wasn't exactly surprised by the fact that she was being absent minded.

Layla sighed. She knew something was wrong and this wasn't the Kira that she raised. She could sense that her energy was very low and that whatever was going on with her, was something that she needed to get out as soon as possible.

"Kira sweetie, you know I love you very much, right? And you're aware of the fact that you're not just a niece to me, you're a daughter and as my daughter, my little girl that I raised and I watched grow up, I can sense when things just aren't right with you. You've been acting really weird all day and I've noticed that. This isn't the first time today that you're been completely absent minded and unaware of anything that's going on around you and that isn't like you at all. Listen dear, I wouldn't want to seem like I'm forcing you to talk to me but, you need to know that keeping whatever is going on with you inside, isn't going to do you any good,"

"One of the reasons I'm here is to be available whenever you need to talk about absolutely anything at all. I may not have a solution to help you out but, I'll still offer to listen to you regardless and help you ease the burden. Now my child, talk to me. What exactly is going on with you?" Layla asked calmly.

Kira did not know how she was supposed to respond to her aunt because she was very embarrassed at what her aunt would think if she heard why Kira's mood was this way. How exactly is she supposed to explain that she's this way because Damien told her that he liked her and she didn't believe him?

"Auntie, it's not like I don't want to tell you anything and it's not like I want to lie to you or anything like that but believe me when I tell you that, whatever is going on with me is something that I'm going to get over pretty soon and I just need some time to digest everything and understand everything and once I'm able to do that, I'll finally be able to snap out of this mood that I'm in and maybe then, I'll be able to talk to you all about it," Kira said and Layla sighed.

"Does whatever that is going on have anything to do with Damien?" she asked suddenly and Kira was taken aback that she had guessed correctly.

"How did you know auntie? Is it that obvious?" Kira asked and Layla chuckled with an eye roll.

"Do you really think that everyone around you two hasn't noticed the way you guys have been in the last few days? The only reason I did not say anything about this why was because I wanted to respect your privacy and I did not want to intrude in your life in any way and I also thought that it would be best for you to sort out whatever it was be yourself but seeing how your mood has been since earlier today, I just wanted to confirm for myself that you were doing okay and I wanted you to talk to me about whatever it was that was causing this crazy tension that we can actually feel from both of you," Layla explained and Kira's cheeks flushed in embarrassment.

"So what you're telling me is that everyone around us knows that we are having issues? You should have actually warned me auntie! That has to be the most embarrassing thing ever! How am I supposed to face everyone now?" Kira asked rhetorically, placing her head on her palm in frustration.

As it is, she was already frustrated with everything that was going on with Damian and now, she had to deal with the judgmental stares, with everyone around her questioning what exactly could be going on between herself and Damian.

"Don't worry about anything because I doubt that anyone would actually directly ask you what is going on and don't blame them for noticing since you didn't exactly try to hide that something was going on between the two of you. You were actually really weird to him during the meetings and we could tell that you two were having some sort of disagreement because he didn't stop looking at you and you didn't stop avoiding him," Layla said and just when Kira thought she couldn't get anymore embarrassed, she's proven wrong.

"Anyways Kira, I don't exactly know what is going on between the two of you and I don't want to say anything since I'm not sure of what exactly is happening but the only thing that I will tell you is that, being in a relationship, being with someone and caring about someone is not as easy as it sounds and definitely, there's going to be a lot of ups and downs. You told me before when you first arrived at the Silvermoon pack that Damien had absolutely no interest in you but the Damien I'm seeing right now, doesn't seem like he doesn't have any interest in you Kira. I don't know what the man did but I'll advise that you hear him and try to sort things out with him,"

"Don't let your insecurities of whatever he had said to you in the past affect your present relationship with him. If he ever tells you that he has feelings for you, I don't think it's a lie because well, his eyes definitely give up the feeling of a man who's in love. Well, this is all I'm gonna say about this since it's none of my business. I wish you both the best in sorting things out," Layla said and Kira smiled a little before engulfing her aunt in a hug.

"Thank you so much auntie. I really appreciate the advice," she muttered and Layla chuckled before letting go of her.

"I'll take my leave now sweetie but before I forget, I've been meaning to tell you something all this while. Remember that night I walked into your room in the middle of the night to check up on you? I think it was when you were mourning Landon's death," Layla said and Kira furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Yes of course, I remember that night auntie but what about it?" she asked.

"Well, I just wanted to let you know that I was aware that Damien was in the room but I just pretended not to know. You seemed to have forgotten that he's from the Silvermoon pack and I would smell one even from a mile away," Layla said with a chuckle before walking away and Kira's face immediately fell.
