"Huh?" I say, taken aback by what she just said.
I check for the time on the small alarm clock placed on my bedside drawer and see it's some minutes after midnight. What does she want? Why the hell did she request to come over by this time of night when she knows I'll probably be in bed?
"Alpha?" She calls hesitantly when I don't give my consent fast enough.
"It's past midnight Victoria? Why do you want to see me? What's so urgent that can't wait till tomorrow?"
"Uhmm– I– What I'm saying is, I'm your concubine and it's normal if I decided to visit your bedroom by this time of the night, isn't it?... Especially now that the Beta is okay?"
I chuckle. I don't need her to explain further before I understand where she's going. I can't really remember the last time I had sex myself and my dick stirred in response to what she's stylishly asking of me.
She seems desperate though and I wonder why. Her offer to be my concubine would have been off the table if I hadn't stopped and held her to her words. So what's going on with her? Why is she desperate now when she already admitted to me that she only pledged her body to prove a point to her mother?
"Alpha?... Don't you want me again? Are you going back on your words?" She asks, her soft voice sounding a little unsure

She's desperate. Something is definitely going on with her and I want to know what it is. "Hold on, not so fast," I say, stopping her from ending the call.

Hearing how she desperately tried to convince me, If there was any doubt in my mind before that something was pushing her towards me, now I know for sure. Why is she desperate to the extent of offering to take an oath that would bind her to me for the rest of her life? I wonder
"Come" I simply say and end the call. Then I call the head of Alpha's mansion security to allow her in when she arrives
While I wait, I open the mini refrigerator in my room and bring out a bottle of water. Since I don't know the exact time she will arrive, I walk to the sofa chair where I left some documents my directors sent to me for signing, pick one, and start looking through it.
"I'm signing my name in the spaces provided after I finished reading when I heard a soft knock on the door.
"Come in," I answer without looking up from what I'm doing. I don't need to confirm if it's her by the door or not since I can smell her essence.
"Alpha..." She says as she enters
"Please, sit. I'll be with you in a moment." I look at her briefly before continuing with what I'm doing.
I sign on the last page of the document, close the file, and set it apart from the others that I've not worked on yet.
"Do you want a drink?" I ask as I stand up and walk to the fridge. "I'm afraid I can only offer you water though, I don't drink myself. If you want something else then..." My words slowly fizzle out when I turn back to her with the water in hand.
Humans and vampires dress alike during the winter period. Except when it's snowing hard, we werewolves don't need coats to keep us warm since our skin is thicker because of our wolves that keep us warm. We only wear coats during cold seasons when we're outside our packs in order to blend into their society and not stick out like a sore thumb.
I wondered about the way she was dressed when she came in, now I understand why she's wearing an overcoat inside the pack, and on a warm night.
I look at her with a raised brow when I see she has removed the coat and now stands before me scantily clad in lingerie.
"I see you came prepared," I say and she blushed
"Yes, I– I... I'm sorry if... I mean am I not supposed to come prepared for you?" She asks.
Even though she's trying to act normal and experienced, I can clearly see she's nervous. I've had women– humans, vampires, and werewolves shamelessly throw themselves at me many times. I've had human girls that are way younger than her flirt with me with reckless abandon but hardly she-wolves her age.
It's rare to see she-wolves at eighteen, nineteen, or even twenty, who is not a widow, flirt around with men since that's the age their essence is stronger for their mates to easily locate them. I can say for sure that at least seventy-five percent of young she wolves keep themselves pure for their mates. I wonder if she's among the minority that fools around with males. I will understand her desperation to jump into my bed if that's the case.
"How many times have you done this?... Seduce men I mean." I ask
She looks appalled by my question. "Seduce men, oh no! Is that what you think of me? Because I'm here you think I go around seducing men!?" She asks instead of answering my question
"I think now is the time I let you know I hate when people answer my question with another question! I find that behavior so irritating." I firmly say.
She swallows nervously.
"I'm sorry... a–nd the answer is no. I have never seduced any man before in my life, Alpha. I have also never had sex before. I– I am still a virgin"
I nod with a smile
"That's good to know then," I say "Now tell me, why are you really doing this? I want to know your real reason for seducing me. You can put your coat back on while you're at it." I say and put the water in my hand on the fridge. I don't think she needs it.
As I attempt to walk past her, instead of her answering my question, she moves quickly and stands in my way.
"Wait... I– I'm really doing this because I like you, Alpha. I find you attractive. What's more, I already pledged to be your concubine."
She looks away from me
"I know you don't believe me but it's the truth. You heard two weeks ago when my mom said I have a crush on you... Well, the crush refused to go away, you see. Now I'm sure I genuinely like you..."
She directs her gaze back at me when I still don't say anything after her confession. Well, I didn't say anything because I still believe there's more to what she's doing than the crush she claims to have on me. She can keep talking until she's ready to say the truth
"I'll do anything to prove myself that I'm sincere. Let me pledge my allegiance to you again...

She finished saying in a firm and determined voice while still looking into my eyes
"Please Alpha, don't reject me." She begs softly as she slowly closes the little space between us.
She pauses in front of me for a while, maybe she's afraid I will push her away but I have no intention to. The urge to have her in my bed is too strong to be ignored. When she sees I'm not objecting to our proximity, she stands on tiptoe and tentatively places her soft lips on mine.
