Fated Tó The Evil Viking Chapter 89

"See to it that they leave this premises in five minutes," I said to Bear through gritted teeth as I walked past him in hurried steps towards the mansion's main wing.

I had to quickly get away from them so I wouldn't end up hurting them. I was breathing hard as I hurried away. Growling even. Heavy animalistic sounds coming out of me in short, consistent bursts. I knew I was about to go wild again so I held tightly to myself from letting the crazy loose.

I needed to quickly get inside where no one but my family would be able to see. It will be disastrous If I lose control of myself and they witness it. It would be disastrous because the Council wouldn't only have me chained to a chair as my Uncle did back then.

They would seize me by all means and have me transported to the Council's underground dungeon. I know myself. I would die first and take a lot of them along with me before I allowed myself to be chained down like a fucking rabid animal.

I thought I would be okay after I repressed that memory. Obviously, it made no difference, otherwise, why would the mere thought and mention of blood excite me this much?

We soon arrived at the main wing and I stood still as soon as I entered the living room. Even though I steel myself for that ferocious part to take over, I balled my fists tightly to fight and prevent it. Muttering to myself...

"Calm down, Thor. Don't go crazy. Don't lose your shit. C-a-l-m-D-o-w-n... I went on and on but I still wasn't able to calm myself. I could feel my elongated claws digging into my palms as my growls came out faster and faster in an angry burst until I threw my head to the back and howled loudly in frustration.

And then it was over. Gradually, my breath slowed till I finally became calm. I removed the sunglasses and slumped tiredly into the nearest chair. I was exhausted and felt as if I'd exhaled all my energy through my howling.

I looked around me and saw they were all looking at me with apprehension. I knew I had to lighten the mood up somehow. I'd hate to see my team walking on eggshells around me. I turned to Ella and started by giving her a bright smile...

"Ella, go brew some of that calming tea for me and get some food while you're at it, I'm famished. Have you guys eaten yet? It's late afternoon. If not then get me the tea first and then you can get the food for all of us later.

"Yes Alpha," Ella said with a slight smile and a bow before she left

"Are you okay man?"

Eric asked as he came to sit in front of me after Ella left. He looked worried and stiff like someone told him I would go crazy if he as much as breathed the wrong way.

I smirked as it suddenly occurred to me how I could lighten the mood around us. I'm going to fucking roast the hell out of him he would loosen up and beg me to stop.

"Yes, I am. What about you though?... The whole Silver Moon pack could hear your heart beating with fear. What were you afraid of? Those old farts? Thank God I came on time to save your ass" I said and we all laughed.

It's always the three of us against him, which doesn't sound fair until you hear him diss us. I swear the dude's got the most poisonous tongue I've ever heard speak. I was prepared to have fun but unfortunately, Eric was not returning the energy we were putting into roasting him. It was more fun when he diss us back but he just kept laughing while the three of us roasted him.

When he'd had enough, he stood up with the excuse to go look for my phone and left... After a while when he didn't come back, I went after him and arrived at his room just as he was about to step out.

"What kept you?" I ask as I walk past him to sit on one of the two armchairs opposite each other in his room

"I was on the phone with Uncle Knox. He complained that you didn't call him"

"I'm actually not in the right frame of mind to call anyone. Did you tell him that? Everything that happened to me I mean?"

"Yes,'' I told him. I told him everything. The ones you're aware of and about the important ones that you can't remember."

"How did he take it? How did he feel?"

"He was sad. But I told him it's just for a little while. We'll all get through this together Thor, I don't want you to worry about it anymore." He says and I nod thankfully to him.

"Have you found out the date of the trial yet?" I ask him, changing the subject.

"Not yet. Uncle Knox told me he would find out from Alpha Nate so we should know tonight."

"Great. Now, I want you to set up a meeting with all Silvermoon's high-ranking officials tomorrow"

"Oh– why?..."

"Because this has gone on long enough. I want them to look me in the eyes and tell me where their allegiance lies"

"You want to lord over them? Force them into swearing their allegiance to you, is that it?" He asks, somewhat unbelievably.

"No, why would I do such a thing?..." I say even though I know that's exactly what my calling for a meeting with them seems like.

"Then we don't need to set up any meetings with them. Wouldn't it seem as if we're begging them to pledge their loyalty to us?... It's been two days since you won the duel yet none of them think it necessary to see you or bother to send a word of congratulation. I think we already know where their support lies and it's not with us. The sooner the trial begins, the sooner they learn Evelyn and her son had been taking them for a fool."

"Yeah..." I agree with him

"So, uhm, where's your mate? I've not seen her today?"

"I don't know. I'm not married to her so she's not obligated to stay around me every hour of the day, you know. Except maybe if I need her essence to help me sleep..." I answer casually and he narrows his eyes at me

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask since I don't understand the look he's giving me.

"There's something different about you... The way you acted in the living room is not how feral werewolves behave and– the manner with which you spoke about your mate just now was so unlike you... I have never heard you speak about Ash in such a manner.

"Ash? Who's Ash?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at him since I have never heard that name before in my life.
