Fond of Erato Chapter 28

"Of course his parents won't acknowledge him with his degree."

I quickly looked around at what Olivia had said.

"What?"

She turned to me like an alien. Her eyebrows met even more with the mixture of annoyance and what else he had issue with me.

"You're the only one I know who is obsessed but doesn't know anything about Erato's life, right?"

I blinked my eyes due to more confusion. What she said didn't sink in.

"Of course, I know anything about him!"

She even slapped me softly because he was surprised by my sudden rise in voice.

"So if you knew then why do you seem so shocked hearing that his parents are not in favor with his degree?"

"Says who?"

She rolled her eyes again, obviously impatient.

"His parents of course!"

"How did you know?"

"Mommy." She simply said.

If my older brother Jax said that I wouldn’t have believed it, I might not have woken up yet, but now with my aunt, it seems convincing.

Her mom is in the line of publicity, she probably knows the issues in the industry whoever or whatever aspect.

"From what I've heard from mom, they wanted him to take up business so he can take part in handling their empire."

She said the gaze focused on the stage.

"Huh? For all I know her sister will take charge of their empire, why do they need to pursue him to take up business?"

"Just take part, knowing the nature of their business maybe their family wants them all in line into one profession. Let’s talk later!"

She pushes me away because she keeps applauding those who come up on stage.

"Maybe something wrong happened in their family?"

"I don't know Jade."

I heard brother Jax's name called and people applauded but I was still left thinking of what Olivia had said.

Erato is the third child of the husband and wife Asterial. His father who's the emperor or the head of their empire is passing the title to their first born Thalia Asterial, his sister.

I don't have that much information about their family since Erato grew far out of them because obviously he's the black sheep of the family.

He's known for being the rebel and a son who doesn't care about their business and their name. So I don't quite think that his parents are forcing him to take charge of their empire.

I don't know if something happened between their family or it's just that they finally starting to care about Erato. That finally they just woke up suddenly that they had to beat it and discipline it the way they wanted.

"Congratulations Jade!"

One of my classmates greeted me and handed me a box of chocolates. I was a bit stunned. My hands are full of flowers some of my classmates have given me, some are wrapped gifts.

"Uhm, Thank you."

I looked around to see my body guard but older brother Jax was ahead of me. I saw how the guy turned meek and a bit intimidated.

I was confused in my mind because of Jax.

My classmate left immediately and then the body guard approached and took what I was carrying in my hand.

The older brother did the same with the chocolate he snatched. He tapped my head looking down at me.

"Suitors even at this day?"

I removed his hand and looked at him wickedly.

"They are my friends." I corrected him.

"Friends? Look, you're the only one with flowers here."

I did what he said and saw that I was just collecting flowers to have a garden.

"So what?"

I'm just upset because I don't want to say he's right.

"We’ll having dinner tonight." He says.

"Yeah I know, at the mansion."

"Nah, Mom's."

I stared at him wit a bored look. Ahh, change of plans? Okay.

"Alright." And that's what happened.

"Leo asked me out and I ditched him. This dinner better be worth it."

Olivia growled as we tidied up her room. Formal dinner it is.

"Who's Leo?" I haven’t heard that name from her before.

"Duh! Nursing."

He simply said. I wondered which one was the one we talked about but I don't remember so probably it's her new one.

"As long as dad won't mention anything about the campaign then we'll be at peace." I sighed.

I waited for him to finish the repairs because I was in the mansion just finished. I went to her balcony while waiting for her. I looked at their busy maids in the garden. That's where the formal dinner arranged by his mom will be held.

"I told mom that I wanted to go beach hopping. Yet she went 360 degrees, and decided to go Alaska."

Olivia grunt madly. I just sighed as he continued to complain. I turned my head to look at their pool area. The lights are moody and it made the ambiance more cozy. Somehow I felt nostalgic.

I left Olivia because I couldn't stand her rant about going to Alaska this summer. I was bored so I just went here to their pool area because I feel like this place is calling me too.

I often visit this house but I don't like their pool area the most. I don't know, maybe I'm just traumatized about that time I witnessed a scene here.

I sat down in the stone bench. I sighed at the recollection.

It wasn’t just the last time I saw Erato with someone else. The shelter is already bad. Who knows what else they do.

My heart pained a little. Remembering how I used to go to gym because I knew he'll be there. I remember how I started to go clubbing which led me to making fake ID's because I wanted to experience things he's experiencing.

Before I looked at myself like this crazy head over heels girl who’s infatuated with his prince charming.

The more he pushes, the more I like him. At first I thought, I just loved the challenge. Guys will do what it takes to ask me out, while I'll go against all odds just to see him.
