I was crying when I was waiting for the doctor's announcement. Adam and Karen were with me in the hospital. Almera and Kairo were haunting that culprit who wanted to kill Alpha Brandon.
Alpha Brandon passed out when we rushed him to the hospital. We didn't take out the arrow because he might have lost a lot of blood. I wanted to heal him, but I couldn't when many members were watching us.
“Calm down, Alpha Leah. Alpha Brandon was too brave. He won't die because of that arrow.” Karen was nodding at her mate. I looked down, and I couldn't stop tears from flowing down my cheeks. Even my wolf was too worried about him, which made me feel confused. My world didn't like another man except with our mate.
“I don't know how I can stop this. Alpha Brandon was always with me whenever I needed him, but I didn't even protect him.”
“He's the one who protected you. He knows you're willing to stab by that arrow, but he doesn't want it. Alpha Leah, you should trust him.”
I sighed, but my hands were trembling. Karen went closer to me; she was tapping my shoulder.
“He's an Alpha. You don't need to worry about him, and our doctor was the best; they're all knowledgeable about this.”
“Karen, can you inform Thomas about what happened to their Alpha?” Karen looked at Adam, and Adam nodded as if he was giving her permission to obey him. Karen nodded at me; she caressed my hair.
“Okay, I will be back here,” Karen says, then turns her gaze to her mate. “I trust you; don't dare try to make her angry.”
“W-What? Babe, I'm not like that!” Adam almost yelled, and I heard someone shout that they wanted us to get silent because there were a lot of patients in the hospital. Karen left us, and Adam was sitting beside me.
“Oh, what about you, brother?” I panicked when I remembered his younger brother.
“Don't worry about him; he knows what he needs to do. He may be a child, but he was brilliant enough to protect himself.”
“But he's a kid!”
“Even if he was a child, don't insert his capability inside the small box. My brother was much stronger than us.”
I was hesitant initially, but I decided to believe whatever Adam said, not because I trusted him. It's because he knows his younger brother more than me. An hour passed, but Alpha Brandon was still in the operating room.
“Will you please stop doing that? Did you love him?” Adam was a little bit irritated when I was sighing so many times.
“What are you talking about, Adam? You knew that I had----”
“Amoux might be your mate, but did you know that it's rare that a werewolf may fall in love with someone who wasn't their mate?”
“That's not true. Werewolves love their mate, so why do they fall in love with someone else if their mate was with them?”
“I don't know, but I am sure some werewolves fall in love with someone who isn't their mate. I was confused that you cried hard because that man was about to die.” I quickly stood up and roared so loudly. My canines were showing before him, but Adam did not look scared.
How dare he say that Alpha Brandon will die today! He knew I was worried for Alpha Brandon, but he dared to tell it in front of my face!
“Adam!” I was panting so much that I almost wanted to faint. I don't know why I am like this if it's about Alpha Brandon.
“Who are the relatives of Alpha Brandon?” I quickly turned my gaze to the doctor, who was looking at us. I even heard Adam murmur that I was acting like Alpha Brandon's wife.
What is happening to me? My wolf was so worried about Alpha Brandon. But, I was sure that Amoux was our mate.
“He's alright. But, he needs to stay here in the hospital. We need to observe if there is another complication. Alpha Leah, the arrow contaminated a poison, and this poison made Alpha Brandon's heart get weak so fast.”
“Damn it!” I heard Adam curse, and he was gritting his teeth. The Doctor informed me that he wasn't sure when Alpha Brandon would wake up, and I needed to be ready if there was a possibility that there was a tiny particle of the poison left inside of his body.
“Adam, did you know about this too? You need to tell me how to cure that poison.”
“I don't know how to cure that using herbs. But, you can heal Alpha Brandon using your healing capabilities, Leah. This poison was like a disease that killed a lot of healers in the world.”
“But, what would happen to him if I decided not to use my healing ability? You know it was too risky; my life span will be reduced.”
“You healed someone like Amoux. Isn't it too unfair that you can't use it for the man who wanted to save you? Alpha Leah, Amoux was your mate, but he didn't even protect you as this man did.” My mouth hung open to what he was telling me. I was dumbfounded that he knew everything.
“How did you know that? Don't tell me that all of the healers know about it.” I sarcastically told him.
“We both came from the healers, but I don't have healing abilities. Our grandma says that I inherit our grandfather's ability. I can see someone past.”
“And, I saw how willing you are to risk your life for Amoux, but that man isn't treating you well. You are unfair, Alpha Leah. This man in the hospital doesn't even experience to cherish, to love by he loves. So he chose to be more ruthless and the young Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.”
“But he's vulnerable. He loves you so much even though he was hurting—”
“Stop telling me everything. Don't you dare continue it?” My heart was throbbing for what Adam had told me. I didn't even know that Alpha Brandon was like that.
“I want to tell you that Alpha Brandon was the best man for you. You're secretly falling in love with him.”
I chose to stay at the hospital and sat on the chair beside Alpha Brandon. I was mourning for what he experienced because of me. I don't want him to die.
I breathe out, and I remember what Adam told me. I know it's true, but I don't want to admit it.
“Alpha Brandon,” I called his name in a low tone, but he still wasn't awake. Almera and Kairo didn't find the culprit but kept searching for it.
I took Alpha Brandon's hand and gently squeezed it. I planted a soft kiss on his hands and held it for so long.
“You should wake up, Alpha Brandon. If you die, I will make you that I will hire someone to use your bones as sex toys.” I chuckled at how I was threatening him.
I bowed my head without removing his hand from my hold. I don't even know that I fell asleep, but I was awake when I heard the machine beeping. My eyes widened when I saw in the machine that his heart had stopped beating, so I rushed to the doctor.
The doctors went to the bedroom and tried everything to revive Alpha Brandon. I was shouting so loud and crying that I was almost out of breath.
The doctor looked at the wristwatch and shook his head. I can't believe this, no! Alpha Brandon, please.
“Time of death, 12:51 AM.” The doctor announced he was looking at me, grieving.
“Alpha Leah, we're sorry for your loss. We did everything to revive him.” I slammed onto the floor and started weeping. The doctor left me, and I didn't even inform Almera that Alpha Brandon was dead.
I walked closer to Alpha Brandon and cried while embracing his lifeless body. I kissed his cheeks; it was so much. I don't want him to die. I felt that I had lost someone too important to me.
I place both of my hands and close my eyes. Come on, Alpha Brandon! You should wake up! Don't you dare leave me?
I was concentrating when I felt an energy coming out of my body. I was a glimpse of light going into Alpha Brandon's body. I felt a sticky liquid coming out of my nose, but I didn't stop what I was doing.
Ahh– Alpha Brandon, please wake up. I can't live without you here. Please,
My vision was spinning when I saw Alpha Brandon slowly opening his eyes. There's a shock on his face. I am happy to make him live here again; Alpha Brandon turned his gaze to me, and he was worried.
“A-Alpha Leah, did you revive me?” I was about to answer him, but I didn't pause. My body fell to the floor.
