Chapter 13
***LOGAN***
6 YEAR AGO
I looked up at the sky and howled loudly. The howl reverberated around the pack and it was filled with hurt and betrayal. I felt everything around me come to a standstill.
The Alpha agony in the air was thick and I knew everyone in the pack would feel it.
I betrayed Larissa because of Alvina only for her to cheat on me with another man. I lost both Larissa and Alvina in six months of marriage.
I howled in agony again before running back to the pack mansion. I would make sure Alvina and the man who dared to sleep with her paid for what they did. In the worst way possible.
I jumped into my room before shifting back into my human form. I saw Alvina had gotten dressed and she ran for the door, but I dashed at her quickly and grabbed her by the wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?" I seethed and pulled her away from the door. She groaned in discomfort and I saw fear in her eyes.
"Let go of me!" She cried and tried to push me away by the chest, but I didn't move an inch. I wanted to kill her right there on the spot, but I couldn't.
It was either the Mate bond holding me back or the fact that her father was the former beta and now a respected Elder of the council.
I threw her to the bed and she crashed into the wall, shattering the bed's headboard.
I grabbed a pant from my closet quickly and as I put it on, she stood up, groaning silently and climbing down from the other end of the bed.
She tried to escape through the broken window, but I got to her first and I threw her across the room again.
This time, she got slammed into the wall by the door. The wall cracked, a small dent forming in it and she fell to the floor, gritting her teeth in pain.
"I'm your mate, you can't treat me like this," she said, adding to the rage I was already feeling.
I charged at her and grabbed her by the neck.
"I can, and I will," I bellowed and felt my eyes shift into a bright yellow color.
"Now, tell me who that man was." My voice came out dreadful and menacing.
Alvina tried to remove my hand from her neck and she tapped, croaking as she struggled to talk.
I loosened my grip on her neck and pinned her to the wall with my other hand on her shoulder.
"I can't... it's no one," she said and I tightened my grip on her neck already. She struggled as she began to choke and lose breath.
"Who was it?!" I yelled at her and let go of her neck.
"No one," she replied. I felt so hurt and pained that she was protecting the man she cheated on me with.
Could he have been so better than me that she would cheat on her mate?
"You have committed treason and you will pay dearly for it," I said, pointing angrily at her.

PRESENTLY.
"Get me that Physician now!" I yelled pointing outside the room as the pack Physician stabilized my father.
A guard immediately hurried out of the room to carry out the instructions. I rested my palms on my waist, pacing up and down the room as I waited impatiently for the Physician we invited.
He had a lot of explanations to give or I would personally cut his fingers and make sure he never gets to work as a Physician till the day he died.
I looked up as the guard appeared, expecting to see him with the Physician, but he was alone.
"Where is he?" I asked, hoping my suspicion wasn't right.
"He ran out the back before we got to his room," the guard replied.
"And you let him go?!" I yelled in anger. Deciding to focus on the most important thing right now, which was catching the Physician, I turned around and looked at the windows in the room.
They led to the back of the pack.
While I was still thinking about it, Derek shifted into a wolf immediately and jumped through one of the windows, shattering the glass.
As he did that, a familiar memory flashed through my head. I phased out for a few seconds before shifting into a wolf too and jumping out.
I and Derek's wolf ran after the Physician who had shifted into a wolf and was several meters ahead of us in the forest trees.
As I ran, I looked left at Derek's wolf as he ran, staring at it closely. It looked so familiar.
Distracted, I almost ran into a tree, but I stopped just before the tree and changed paths to continue chasing the Physician.
The Physician was nearing the Pack border and I ran faster and faster, slowly closing the gap between us.
Just before the Physician could cross the border, I leaped into the air, growling loudly and I pounced on his wolf.
He raised his limbs and slashed his claws at my face, but I dodged them and slashed his face with mine.
He howled in pain and planted his huge paws on my chest, throwing me off him.
I crashed into a tree and he tried to run, but Derek's wolf ran into him.
The two wolves rolled over each other multiple times as they both fought to be on top till they both crossed the borderline.
The two of them fought until the Physician was on top and he clawed at Derek.
I got up and charged out of the border, leaping up and pushing the Physician off Derek. Before he could defend himself or retaliate, I dug my claws into his chest and pulled them down to his abdomen.
He growled in pain and wrangled on the floor as he slowly turned back to his human form, completely naked and badly injured.
I kicked him on the chest with my hindleg, sending him flying into a tree farther from the border.
I ran back into the pack, looping through the forest path with Derek tagging along. The Physician would either die there alone if he was lucky or get finished off by Rogues.
