Chapter 17
***LOGAN***
ONE YEAR AGO.
I watched as all the council members walked out of the council chamber one after the other with some of them discussing with each other.
Just like every other council meeting we've had for the past 6 months, I was left with a hanging feeling of irritation.
Just when I thought the meeting was about to end with the pre-meditated topics concluded successfully, someone would bring it up and ask when I planned to give the pack a Luna.
They wanted me to choose someone and get married so badly so that my leadership would be "complete" and the pack will feel "safer"
I looked up and I noticed that everyone had left except my dad. He stood up and walked across the long council table to sit closer to me.
"You know they're not wrong," he said and I sighed in frustration, leaning back on my chair and intertwining my fingers on the table.
Here we go.
"It's been five years since you became Alpha of the pack and it's five years too menu for this pack to be without a Luna," he stated.
"I-"
"There are certain duties you can't perform. Duties the Luna has to perform. You can't do everything alone and your mother has been working so hard to make sure that Vacancy doesn't take a toll on the pack," he continued, interrupting me.
I clicked my tongue and sat up.
"It's not my fault. I was so lucky to get my mate the very same day I became Alpha and I had already fulfilled my duties of getting the pack a Luna," I said, tapping the table with my right index finger.
"It's not my fault Alvina committed treason. I don't know what to do and I'm not going to force anything," I added frantically.
"I can't just pick any random woman and claim her as mine, can I?"
"No, you can't. But I can recommend someone you can. I've spoken to Councilwoman, Tamara and she has spoken with her daughter who has already agreed to be your Luna," my father said and I scoffed lightly, looking away in disbelief.
"I already got into a relationship that was decided for me by the Moon goddess and look how it ended, I'm not going into another relationship that I have no control over," I retorted immediately.
"But you have to it for the sake of the pack and for the sake of your leadership. Dolores is a well-trained girl and she would make a good Luna!" My father replied in an equally challenging tone.
"But she's not the one I want!" I yelled all of a sudden, standing up and slapping the table with my palms.
"Who do you want then?!" He yelled back at me, standing up too.
"Is it that daughter of a traitor? Huh?" He asked, pointing into the air. I breathed deeply, staring at him without giving him a reply.
Ever since Alvina exposed our relationship in front of the entire pack, nobody ever spoke about it or brought up Larissa's name until now.
"That girl is dead for all we know!" He continued, with the veins in his forehead bulging.
"YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!" I bellowed, my voice echoing around the room so that it felt like the walls were shaking.
"And yes, she's the one I want! I want Larissa!" I yelled, finally tired of hiding how I felt and pretending as if I didn't truly love Larissa or regret how I neglected her.
"Don't you mention the name of that girl again!" My father yelled at me.
"Her father brought so much disaster to this pack so don't ever mention her name!"
"I want her! I want Larissa!" I yelled defiantly. In a blink of an eye, my father stunned me with a blow to the chest that sent me across the room. I landed heavily on the floor and my eyes flashed a bright yellow color as I felt my feral wolf rage take over.
I growled and I stood up with my claws extending out of my fingers before charging back at my dad.
He dodged my blows with his arms and planted a swift kick in my chest. I staggered back a bit but regained balance by holding on to a chair.
Clouded by the rage I felt, I lifted the chair and swung it in my dad's face. The chair shattered to pieces as they hit his head and he got knocked to the ground.
He tried to stand up, but I punched him in the head, sending him back down.
When he didn't move again, I took a step back, my eyes reverting to their human form, and I gasped as I saw blood flowing out of his cracked head.
What have I done?

PRESENTLY.
I rushed into my dad's room and watched as the Physician took out a syringe from this medical kit and stabbed my dad in the thigh.
I watched with my heart in my throat as my dad slowly stopped convulsing and became calm.
"This is the third time this week," I said and the Physician nodded.
"I'm afraid that he'll not be able to stay alive much longer," the Physician said.
"Well, keep him alive!" I was stressed out and scared.
"I'll try my best," he replied simply and packed up his kit before leaving the room. I knew he was tired of me so hard and he probably had a lot to say to me that he wouldn't dare to.
I turned around to see Nolan standing behind me. I wasn't used to him yet, but I was trying my best to be more open with him as he was my new Beta.
"The doctor in the human world, Laurel-"
"Larissa," I corrected him. He wasn't in this pack when a lot of things happened so he didn't know about her history here.
"If she's a member of this pack, can't she be forced to come back to use her medical abilities for the former Alpha?" He asked as we walked out of my dad's room into the hallway.
"It's not that simple," I replied.
"She ran away from the pack and she's now Rogue. It's no longer her obligation so she can't be forced," I said, hissing in slight irritation.
I stopped walking and clicked my tongue.
Every method I've used to try and get her to help has failed. My father would die anytime now if he didn't receive urgent help.
Maybe the only option I had was to force her to help.
"Nolan, I need you to do something for me."
