Chapter 35
***ALVINA***
"Does anyone know who she is?" I heard a voice ask from inside the darkness I was in.
"No, they found her at the border and she said Rogues were after her," another voice replied. I slowly opened my eyes as I came back to consciousness and my eyelids fluttered rapidly to protect my eyes from the sunlight.
"She's awake," a lady said and I looked around to see where I was. This wasn't my room. I sat up and groaned as I felt a nagging pain at the back of my head.
I didn't recognize where I was or how I got there. I rubbed the back of my head as it all came back to me slowly. I was banished, I killed the Rogue who almost raped me, and...
I immediately sat up, looking around in fear as I remembered the Rogues.
"Rogues," I said and I looked at the faces of the people in the room.
"Darling, there are no Rogues here, you're safe now," a woman said and she came to sit on the bed next to me.
I looked at my body and saw I was no longer in my torn clothes. Someone had changed my clothes and treated my injuries.
"Why were those Rogues after you, what were you doing alone in the forest?" The man standing at the door asked me. By the aura he was exuding, I knew he was the Alpha of the pack.
"Honey, she still needs rest. We can ask her those questions later," the woman sitting next to me on the bed said, but he didn't seem like he was about to listen to her.
"I'm sure she doesn't mind answering those simple questions," he said, facing me, and I nodded, forcing a smile.
I had to get them to like me and accept me, and it would be better if the Alpha trusted me.
"I was running away from my pack when I met them in the forest," I said and began to fake tears, pretending to be holding them back.
"Oh, poor thing," the woman said with sympathy in her eyes and I noticed the Alpha was still looking at me, not fully convinced by my act.
"Why did you run from my pack?" He asked and I knew I couldn't tell them the real reason or they would send me away as fast as I came here.
I sniffed, "My father's wife and her son. Ever since my father died, they torture me and make life hell for me," I said and let tears roll down my cheeks.
"I reported to my Alpha, but he's a friend of my step-brother and he refused to help me," I added and continued crying.
"Oh, dear, I'm so sorry to hear that," the woman said, moving closer to me and placing her hands on my shoulder.
"Where were you going to go?" The Alpha asked.
"Ralph-" she called his name so he could stop the questioning and I wiped my tears with the heel of my palms.
"LakeMoon pack. I have a friend called Anne there. Anne Ortega," I said and they glanced at each other.
"You're at the LakeMoon pack, but your friend met her Mate a few months ago and went to his pack," she said, patting on the shoulder. I was very happy to hear that.
I thought I would have to persuade her to play along with my lies, but she was out of the way now.
"It's okay, you're welcome in our pack," the Alpha said and I almost jumped in excitement, but I had to maintain the pretense. Looks like I just found myself a new home.

PRESENTLY.
I watched as Peter charged at his opponent, Dan with a loud cry and threw his fist in Dan's face.
Dan seemed stunned for a while, but he bent out of the way in time, making Pete's fist swing over his head.
It was the third month since the training of the new adults and they would all compete against each other in the pack square. A second competition would be held at the end of the six months.
I sat down in the crowd next to James, hoping that Peter won. If he lost, he wouldn't just disappoint me as his teacher, he would disappoint the entire pack as he was the son of the Alpha.
This was the last round and his opponent who was personally trained by his parents, the Betas, was really good. The Alpha and Luna trusted me which was why they let me train Peter.
Dan moved out of the way quickly as Peter lost her balance and he used the chance to kick Peter's leg.
Peter grunted as he fell to the ground on the floor and I heard everyone clap for Dan.
Peter was beginning to look angry and frustrated.
"He's getting angry and he'll make a mistake," James said beside me and I shook my head.
I taught him to use his anger well, he'll not disappoint.
You can do this Peter.
Peter got up on his feet and zoomed at Dan, throwing a punch up his jaw.
The sound of Dan's jaw bone cracking was loud enough for me to hear from her and he flew into the air. Dan fell to the floor but managed to support himself with his palms.
Dan was about to stand up, but Peter dashed at him again and kicked him in the chest.
The impact of the kick sent Dan flying across the fighting ground.
Loud noise erupted in the square as I heard everyone begin to cheer Peter loudly
Peter looked around proudly and I looked back to see Dan getting up on his feet with bleeding palms. He used them to support himself when sliding on the floor so they were badly bruised.
He looked at Peter who was standing across the fighting ground with his back turned to him, panting heavily.
Peter noticed the crowd was looking behind him and I sighed as he finally saw Dan was up on his feet again.
They both charged at each other and as they clashed, Peter groaned in pain as Dan's claws slashed his arms and chest, blood gushing from the cut.
The entire square fell silent. Dan could already turn and it wasn't against the rules to use your wolf abilities. Peter could also turn already but he probably didn't know Dan could and held back since.
Damn morals! I hissed.
I saw Peter's eyes turn a bright yellow color. He growled loudly and grabbed Dan by the neck.
Dan struggled to peel Peter's hands off his neck as Peter slowly lifted him up into the air, ignoring Dan's arms that were hitting him.
All of a sudden, Peter growled and threw Dan on the floor. Dan cried as he fell to the floor with his back flat and I knew something was broken in his back with that force.
That instant, loud cheers erupted in the crowd and Peter's eyes reverted to their normal green color. He won.
