My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 52

Chapter 52

***DEREK***

TWO WEEKS AGO

Fuck!

What do I do? I was weak and there's no way I could take on the two of them, Craig and Scott alone. I clenched my fists at the side of my body and kept it walking slowly.

That didn't mean I wouldn't fight back and just let them lock me up again.

As I got close to them, they both glanced at me and it didn't look like they saw me as a traitor or anything.

Logan hasn't let them know yet. I scoffed inside and unclenched my fists.

I nodded in acknowledgment as our eyes met while I passed by them.

"Derek," I heard Craig call me and I immediately froze in my steps and slowly turned around to face them.

"Yes?"

"We didn't see you at the training ground today, is everything okay?" He asked and I faked a smile and waved my hand in the air.

"No, I just had to handle some issues with some pack disputes," I replied and he nodded.

"Okay."

"I sighed in relief and kept walking, I just needed to grab a gun in my room before I run. If I met Rogues in the forest, I would need defense.

As I got to my room, I saw that the door was still unlocked and I walked in. There was a maid cleaning up the floor and the letters and she froze in fear, the broom in her hand dropping to the floor as she saw me walk in.

Judging by the look in her eyes, she knew what I had done.

She slowly took a few steps back and I closed the door of the room.

"Don't shout, I'm not going to hurt you," I said, slowly walking towards her. She stopped moving as her back hit my dressing table, blocking her from going anywhere else.

"I just need to grab my gun and I'll leave," I said calmly, still moving closer to her.

She nodded and I glanced at the gun I hung on the wall by my closet. I glanced back at the maid and I saw a shift in her eyes.

Oh, come on. I immediately charged at her and grabbed her head with both hands. I snapped her neck and let go of her as she fell lifelessly to the ground.

She was trying to send out a telepathic panic to the others in the pack. I hoped I wasn't too late or if she was successful, there would be tens of them busting in right now.

I moved back and sighed as I looked at the dead maid on the floor. I really didn't want to kill her.

I'm not a bad person, and I won't let anything make me one. I just want to escape.

I blinked and quickly grabbed my gun hung on the wall. It was too dangerous to pass the hallways out again as I could run into Logan so I ran to my window and looked out.

I smashed the window and was about to jump out, but I looked back into my room and I spotted a pendant necklace on the floor.

I got it from my mom when I was a kid before she died as a good luck charm and I always kept it on my dressing table. I didn't wear it on me always cause I was afraid I would need to turn and lose it.

It was very precious to me and the only memory of my parents I had left. I heard a footstep outside the hallway and I immediately grabbed the necklace before jumping out of my window.

I ran as fast as I could into the forest and looked up at the sky. There was a waning crescent moon overlooking the forest and soon it will shift into a new moon.

I need to be somewhere safe before the coinciding.

I hung the gun over my shoulder and held on tight to the pendant necklace in my hand.

As soon as I got out of the pack successfully, I would find somewhere to hide till it was morning and my wolf powers were back then I would find the LakeMoon pack.

Alvina told me how she was able to become one of them through the letters we sent and I just had to pretend like I needed refuge too.

Once they trust me, I and Alvina can finally be together without hindrance. We would no longer have to hide our relationship.

I panted heavily as I ran through the forest path, I was getting close to the border.

I looked around as I began to hear loud footsteps and the rustling of leaves behind me. I squinted my eyes in the dark until I saw Logan chasing after me.

It was so hard for me to see than it normally should be. I looked up and saw the waning crescent moon was fading away.

I continued running faster than I was, knowing I was close to the border. I stopped moving as I heard the cracking of bones and a loud growl behind me. Logan had shifted.

He began to leap after me with angry snarls and I immediately kept running. I could hear him getting closer and catching up as the gap between us closed.

The border was close, but I couldn't outrun him on foot. I immediately dropped the gun and pendant on the floor and growled as my eyes began to glow in bright yellow.

I bent and growled as every bone in my body cracked and reformed till I shifted into a wolf. My vision and smell were sharper and I could see the border up ahead.

I looked back to see Logan leap into the air so he could pounce on me, but I immediately leaped away and dashed through the forest part until I was out of the border.

I stopped as I got to a tree and turned around to see Logan stop and shift back into his human form, naked.

"Run and make sure you never come back or I'll make sure I'll kill you!" Logan's voice echoed around the dark forest.
