My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 68

Chapter 68

Larrissa pov

A WEEK LATER

I was in the Chambers of the former Alpha, checking up on him, when someone barged into the room.

It was the former Luna and she was looking at me with a mixture of anger and shame in her eyes.

Her eyes darted to her husband briefly and then to me before the anger in her eyes won the battle and she finally spoke.

“What are you doing in my mates chambers unsupervised?”

She glared.

I rolled my eyes, tired of her bullshit routine of trying to bring me down whenever she saw me.

“Answer me! Are you deaf?!”

She barked, eyes throwing daggers at me.

“You know, Luna, I don’t have to be here. The only reason I am here is because your son kidnapped me and begged me to help your husband which I shouldn’t even be doing after everything you and your mate have put me through—“ she heaved.

“So, here I am trying to honor the deal I made with your son but here you are being the loud ungrateful bitch you’ve always been. If you don’t pipe down on your bitchery, I’ll leave this pack and let your sorry-ass-of-a-mate die, moon goddess knows he deserves it!”

I blurted out in rapid succession.

The Former Luna’s eyes went from anger to complete shock within a matter of seconds at my outburst.

She stayed quiet staring at the floor not saying anything for a while.

I hadn’t meant to say all that but I had already been pissed off before I had come to check on her mate because of the dream I had about my kids missing.

The truth was that I meant every word but I hadn’t meant for it to come out so cruel.

“Everything okay here?” Logan barged in, causing the tension in the room to increase.

“Everything is fine.” His mother muttered and immediately left the room.

Logan glanced at me in question, and I shrugged and went back to work.

I didn’t have to be polite to his mother or him, especially since he kidnapped me.

“Nolan and Steve will be back soon with the other equipment you requested.”

That was right, Nolan and Steve had gone to the human world to bring me some equipment needed for Logan’s father’s surgery. They’d only managed to get me the small equipment I needed two days ago but I had to send them back with an extensive list.

“That’s good,” I said, still checking the old Alpha’s pulse. He seemed to be doing fine, at least for now.

“How is he?” Logan asked, walking toward me.

I felt his hands on my shoulders and I shrugged It off and glared at him.

“Don’t touch me,” I gritted out, “you can speak to me from a safe distance.”

“And as for your father, he’s stable but I still need my equipment soon or I won’t be able to do anything.”

“Yeah, I know.”

I didn’t wait for him to say anything before walking to my room.

As I opened the door to my room, I stopped short when I saw a bouquet of tulip flowers and chocolate lying on my bed.

Rolling my eyes, I stepped into the room and picked up the flowers from my bed and against my better judgment placed them at the bridge of my nose.

It had the scent of tulips but also had Logan’s scent.

I wanted to put it down but the memories of when we were kids and in love came to the surface of my mind and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of loneliness.

This wasn’t the first time I had gotten flowers and chocolates from Logan since I was brought to the pack.

In fact he made sure everyday for the past week that I had gotten flowers every morning and evening.

At first I found it annoying because I knew he was pandering to me because he wanted me to heal his father but soon enough it began to feel a little bit more.

I had yelled at him just a few days ago to stop sending me gifts and I had even gone as far as returning the bracelet and earrings he’d gotten me to him telling him that he couldn’t buy me back with cheap trinkets and flowers that represented his broken promise but he hadn’t listened to me.

He had continued to send flowers and when I confronted him, he’d only said that I could throw them out if I wanted to but he wasn’t going to stop.

I let out an exasperated sigh as I plopped down on the bed and opened the box of chocolate.

I Plucked one from the case and popped it in my mouth, deciding to myself that I deserved all of this and more. He’d betrayed me and this was the least he could do to at least appease me. I wasn’t going to go back to him but I at least wouldn’t be rejecting anymore of his gifts.

It didn't matter if I was still in love with him, I had a family back home and I would not jeopardize that for someone who was okay with me being treated like a dog.

It was dinner time when I finally came out of my room. I needed to go check up on Logan’s father before the maid brought my food to my chambers.

I had slept off and had woken up a little late.

On my way to the former Alpha’s chambers, I felt a familiar presence that had caused me a lot of trouble.

I looked behind me and when I didn’t see anything, I shook the thought off. I was probably imagining things. There was no way she’d be here.

After checking the senior Alpha’s vitals, I left the room and decided to eat at the dinner table today.

There was no reason for me to keep hiding, besides I was bored of seeing the four walls of my room.

As I stepped into the dinning room, my eyes landed on a familiar figure seated close to Logan and her mother and my heart skipped several beats.

“Larissa, it’s you. I’ve been waiting for you all day, come join us,”

Alvina turned to me , a fake smile planted on her slimy face.

“Alvina,” I whispered.
