My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 80

Chapter 80

LOGAN’S POV

As I got back to the pack house, I couldn’t help but think about all that Jakob had said to me about inviting witches to help us fight the Rogues.

I wasn’t even sure that they’d venture into our pack yet. Inviting witches would make me look weak and I didn’t want to entertain the idea.

It didn’t seem likely that Rogues would dare venture into my pack and according to Steve and Nolan, they seemed to be more interested in packs with unstable power systems.

The three packs that they had reportedly attacked were all packs that either had their Alpha dead or a new Alpha or some kind of problem in the pack.

My pack wasn’t any better in terms of stability seeing as my father was lying half dead and I didn’t have a Luna but as long as I remained in the pack, the chances of a rogue attack was incredibly low.

“Sir, dinner is ready,” A maid bowed as soon as I entered the house.

I let out a sigh at the sudden interruption.

“Is Dr. Larissa dining with us today?” I asked, knowing the answer but hoping she’d maybe change her mind. She had changed so much.

She was no longer that naïve little girl I used to love so much. She was a different person with iron clad boundaries, it was exhausting trying to show her that I loved her.

She’d rejected all my advances and gifts. At first she rejected the flowers and gifts I sent to her but she eventually stopped rejecting it. We’d even built a bit of a report until the fight with Alvina. She’d managed to become colder

“No sir,”

“What about Alvina?” I asked.

“She’s gone home to her father, Sir..”

“Really? When?” I inquired as I took off my coat and handed it over to the maid.

“A few days ago,”

That explained why I hadn’t seen her for the past two days now.

“Alright, I’ll be back, go ahead and dish my food,”

I said and walked towards Larissa’s room.

As soon as I got to her door, I knocked and she immediately opened as if she’d been expecting me.

A disappointed look settled on her face when she saw that it was just me.

“Were you expecting someone else?” I teased but instead of glaring at me as usual, she began to sob out of nowhere.

I blinked, confused by her sudden reaction.

“Are you okay?” I asked, unsure on what to do.

“No,” she sniffed and turned back into her room, leaving her door wide open.

I followed her and closed the door behind me, upset by her sudden show of emotions.

Did something happen while I was away?

“Larrisa, what’s wrong?” I asked as I got closer to her.

She turned around and stared at me like she wanted me to hold her

I moved closer and pulled her into a hug when I saw just how distraught she looked.

“Did something happen while I was gone?”

She didn’t give me an answer, she just continued to cry.

Did Alvina do something to her while I was away? I was so confused.

I tried to get her to talk but she never gave me an answer. After crying on my shoulders for fifteen minutes, she finally let go of me, wiping her eyes clean.

Her eyes that were once filled with tears, now suddenly carried a loathing look that scared me.

“Larissa?” I questioned but she didn’t say anything.

“I’m going to kill her, “ she muttered under her breath, her hands balling into fists and her nostrils flaring with disgust.

“Kill who?” I moved closer to her on the bed and surprisingly she didn’t move away.

All she did was give me a strange look as if she was looking through me rather than at me.

“Did Alvina say something to you?” I asked, wanting to know what was wrong.

Her silence was driving me practically insane.

Why wasn’t she saying anything?

“was it my mother?” I pressed.

“No Logan, I’m fine,” she finally answered after several moments of silence.

Her eyes were puffy now and her lips were thinned into a straight line of disapproval.

“I should probably go check on your father,” she said and abruptly stood up from the edge of the bed. She wiped her eyes clean with the back of her hands and proceeded to walk out of the room but not before taking her first aid box.

I followed her out of the room and into my father’s chambers but throughout the duration of the check up, she didn’t speak.

Throughout the next couple of hours, the crying fits continued.

I’d bring her breakfast on bed and lunch just to cheer up. She’d accept them and let me talk to her.

I was happy that she was starting to let me in but at the same time upset because something was bothering her and the didn’t know how to fix it because she was refusing to tell me anything.

Sometimes, I’d catch her deep in thought, other times I’d catch her sobbing or muttering under her breath.

She’d even postponed my father’s surgery by a few days saying she wasn’t feeling herself enough to perform surgery on him.

I allowed it because I had no choice. Plus it was pointless trying to get her to do it when she wasn’t exactly feeling well herself. I just hoped my father wouldn’t lose his chance at life because of her decision to postpone.

We were having dinner the next day when Larissa suddenly kicked me out of her room, saying it was late and she wanted to get some sleep.

I, of course, asked her if she needed anything that she could call me but she’d only nodded and closed the door in my face.

With a sigh, I walked back into my room and fell asleep, dreaming of war and fights with rogues.
