PUREBLOOD Chapter 21

Kaiwan's jaw dropped to see holes and blood stains on Victor's shirt.

"You're right. It's true I'm a dog...but don't insult the police."

Victor looked down at his shirt before he raised a sanguinary eyes to her.

"...Who do you think...was the one who got you in your present position?"He yelled as he darted to stab her in the arm with his talons.

The chief groaned in pains and he snarled.

"You're no different...do you think washing your hands now, will wash away your sins?"

"I know... it can't be washed away. That's why... I'm just going to take all the blame...with your blood." She replied as she thrust her claws into his abdomen.

"We have to catch..." Zuriña was saying when he ran off to get him. Luckily for him, he spotted him a couple of blocks away. He pulled out a net gun and aimed.

Victor must have heard the sound of it as he turned back.

"Fuck." He yelled as the net captured him, tasing him on the ground.

"Hey bastard, do you know how much it costs, just to shoot one of these?" He asked as he walked up to him. "This will keep you from using your vampiric powers for a while."

"Do you really think you could catch me with such a weak ass weapon?" He asked as he staggered up.

Kaiwan decided to give him another chance. "And you call yourself a vampire?... You look very tired. Let's stop here, yeah?"

"Move."

"Don't wanna." He replied, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"Even if I'm like this, I can still crush a human with just one of my hands."

"Don't overdo it since you're badly hurt."

"Even still, you're nothing but a human...let's see if you keep spouting bullshit after you're dead." He yelled and made to hit Kaiwan who grabbed his fist.

"You're right. I'm human... but not just like other humans."He smiled and threw him over his shoulder.

"Besides, do you think I aimed for your legs jusr because I didn't have some sort of ability?"

Zuriña was still standing where he'd left her when he returned with a bound Victor and she hurried to him, checking for injuries.

"Are you okay?"

He nodded as he pushed Victor to a corner. Due to the injuries he'd sustained, it'd be difficult for him to run.

"I'm fine...Excuse me, I need to make a call."

"Okay."

He walked a few steps and dialled the head of the vampire task force who answered on the third ring.

"Yes?"

"He's been captured. I'll be waiting at the right side of the protesters stage."

"Hey pureblood,do you really think it'll end just because you caught me? What are you going to do when you find the information...you guys will end up dying sooner. I'm just saying you should practice begging for your life...just like that Father..." Victor was saying and Kaiwan turned on hearing a lot yelp behind him.

The scene was frightening, the chief had plunged her heart through his body and was holding out his heart.

"You should be the one begging right now." She said.

"His..his heart." Zuriña stuttered.

Kaiwan was on a call, the following morning as he headed to his office.

"I just called to hear your voice...Did you eat before heading out? You really need to eat some more...Take care of yourself and let's eat something good when we meet up again."

"You bitch, are you even listening to me?" Someone yelled.

"Which idiot is causing trouble here...?" He asked as he turned to look at where it came from.

"Are you crazy? What makes you think you can come here again?"

"I'm saying I left something at your house, so tell me the passcode so I can go and look for it."

He finally found the source and was surprised to see it was the barista's ex-husband.

"Him again?"He asked and was about to hurry over when the barista slapped him and the man lost his balance.

"I'll slap your other cheek if you dare show your ugly face here again."

"Arrest him."He smiled as he remembered she used to be called volleyball queen.

"Yes sir."

He turned to see two police officers walk out of the building with a handcuffed chief.

As if she knew he was there, she turned to look at him and gave a sad smile as she was led to the police car.

Nothing within the police department changed. They just squeezed out the pus and didn't bother to heal the injuries that lay within.

Sighing, he walked to his office, where a seated Zuriña was waiting for him.

"Just in time. I was about to call." She said.

"I took a look at the folder last night. From locations, current alias, organizations to types of criminal activity, this is all the information I've gathered on the angels of death...but now we have a problem." He said as he walked over to his seat.

"What's it?"

"The power of the angels of death are growing too fast. do you know how many vampires there are in the country, right now?"He asked.

"Yes, about five thousand, right?"

"That's right and it took a span of ten years for that to appear."

"Then why..."Her voice trailed off.

"The number of vampires has doubled in recent months."

"How many months?"

"Ready to make a move?"He asked.
