Ashton and Hava were already a far distance from the pack and deep into the woods when Hava turned back and noticed a black wolf running towards them.
“Alpha Reid” she exclaimed causing Ashton to turn too, when he saw the black wolf he could tell it was the Alpha.
“Run Hava” he held her hand as they ran as fast they could trying to escape him.
A loud vicious roar escaped the black wolf damned pissed that they would try to run away from him, he picked up his pace moving faster than before and then leaped in the air taking a different route.
“Did we lose him?” Hava asked looking back, she couldn’t find Alpha Reid so she thought they were safe.
“No we didn’t” Ashton said as he stared at the black wolf in front of him snaring at him. Hava turned and found Alpha Reid behind them.
“Holy shit” she said terrified of his enormous size, she had never seen his wolf and merely looking at it gave her the chills.
“Get behind me” Ashton ordered and she did immediately, he quickly changed into his wolf ready to defend his mate from Alpha Reid.
“You really have some nerves thinking you can escape me” Alpha Reid said through the mind link.
“I had to try my luck” Ashton replied him, he wasn’t sure at first if he was going to get out of the packhouse alive but he did.
“Do you think you can come into my pack and take what is mine, Hava belongs to me, she is my mistress” Alpha Reid said.
The deal was signed by him and Hava’s father so he still considered her as his own.
“No, she belongs to me. She is my mate and you did wrong for trying to take her away from me” Ashton replied standing his ground as he growled at Alpha Reid, he wasn’t afraid of him despite his size.
“I once had a mate and she turned out to be dead, I will give you one last chance Ashton just because you were my Gamma, return her to me and I will let you walk away freely without harming you but you can never come back or claim the rights to the child” Alpha Reid suggested to him still obsessed with the idea of keeping the child as his own.
“No, I will never give what is mine to you” Ashton replied back. There was no way Ashton was going to give Hava and his unborn baby to him. They were his life and all that he lived for, he would rather off be dead than lose them or walk away just to save his life.
“Fine then, I will make sure to kill you where you stand” Alpha Reid said as the circled each other.
Alpha Reid rushed towards Ashton grabbing him and pinning him towards the ground, Hava quickly hid herself to take cover from the fight. Ashton pushed him off him but the price he had to pay for that was a slash to his face. He got back on his fours but Alpha Reid wouldn’t let him be as he tried to knock him down again, Ashton was directly underneath him when he knocked him off once again causing to crash to a tree.
Alpha Reid dusted himself and growled at him, he watched as Ashton run towards him and he dodged it causing him to hit the tree also, he sliced his body with his claws and Ashton let out a small whimper. He clawed his legs too with the aim of breaking it when Ashton slashed his face, Alpha Reid bit down on his neck and threw him up then watch him fall back down.
Alpha Reid stood on all fours on Ashton as he stared at him, Ashton wouldn’t dare accept defeat because it meant his mate and child would be taken from him. He sliced his abdomen and pushed him to the ground. He bit his leg and flung him to a tree, he picked him up by biting down on his neck abd he sunmersaulted him down to the ground. He dug his claws deep into his body aiming to take out his heart but Alpha Reid pushed him off him. He climbed on top of him burying his head to the ground as he raised his claws to slash his neck.
A strong force pushed him off Ashton just when he was about to kill him, he turned and found out they Hava had hit him with a rod. He growled at her about to attack her when Ashton bit his tail bringing him back. He whimpered in pain of having his tail bitten and turned to face Ashton. He head butted him and Ashton was flung up to the sky and allowed to crash harshly to the ground.
He was a bit weak to stand up as he watched Alpha Reid walk closer towards him ready to kill him.
He thought to himself, ‘Was this it, is this how far his power could go in protecting his mate and child. Was he about to allow Alpha Reid kill him just like that’ he quickly rose up to challenge him once again.
“Ah” a loud scream was heard from a distance catching the attention of the two of them.
They both turned behind and they could see that the pack was under attack, there was fire everywhere. Alpha Reid was scared of what was happening in his pack and was about to leave to save the pack when his eyes caught unto Hava and the child in her womb. There was no point in going back to save the pack because it was already in ruins.
A pack could always be created and as for a son, he could never have that anymore because of his curse.
He attacked Ashton knocking him down to the ground, Ashton knew he had to end the fight sooner than later if he wanted to win.
He pushed him off him and bit his neck, he sliced a huge chunk of his flesh. He lifted him up and summersaulted him to the ground. Alpha Reid was weak as he got attacked severally with no break.
Ashton turned him over and dug his claws into his chest bringing out his heart. Alpha Reid changed slowly back dead with no heart.
