The dark moon pack had been like hell for Hava, she hadn’t gotten a moment of rest from the moment she arrived, after taken to the dungeon for torture, she was taken back to her room but the other mistresses wouldn’t let her rest each day.
Today was an exception as no one came knocking on her door, she wondered why but decided to sleep some more. When she was finally woke up and stepped out of her room to find the castle almost empty and wondered why.
She walked towards where she heard a commotion and saw a man kneeling before Alpha Reid and his beta. She wondered who that was and had to silently wait to see his face.
Alpha Reid held a sword in his hand and placed it on the man’s shoulders facing him,
“Do you accept to be the Gamma of this pack making sure to serve me and the pack at all times” he asked.
“Yes Alpha” a voice answered and it felt familiar to her, she moved to the side to see his face but it even got worse, she decided to climb the stairs to get a better view of him.
Once she was up, she found the seven mistresses staring at her, she bowed her head wanting to leave when she heard a voice,
“You can stay here so you get to see who the new Gamma is” Rebecca stated and they removed their focus from her towards the young man who had turned his face to the crowd.
“Wow, he is so handsome” Lily said admiring him.
“I wouldn’t mind to have him as my mate, he looks so manly” another mistress said and they smiled while staring at the Gamma.
Hava leaned on the railing and turned to see if he was really handsome as they said when she saw him, she was shocked beyond wits, she had thought she would never see him again but there he was.
“Ashton” she whispered, how did he go from being the omega she rejected in her pack to being the Gamma of this pack.
She stared at him surprised and his eyes found hers, she had thought he would stare at her for a while because of the history they had but he took his eyes off her immediately he saw her almost like he hadn’t recognized her.
She got shaken, ‘Was he trying to ignore her’ she asked herself, why couldn’t she recognize him earlier by his scent, a lot of things had changed about him and he looked so much better than before. She kept her gaze on him hoping he would stare at her one more time but he didn’t, she felt disappointed as he kept his gaze elsewhere but not at her.
“To all of you present here, this is the new gamma of the pack, I hope you all will give him as much respect as you have all given me and obey his orders” Alpha Reid said to the hearing of everyone.
The ceremony came to an end and they all retreated to their various works.

Late in the evening Hava came out for a night snack when she found him in the kitchen.
“Hi Ashton” she greeted but he ignored her and continued eating. She thought he hadn’t heard her so she greeted him again but there was no response.
“Ashton I am talking to you” she walked up to him but her presence didn’t bother him. She felt hurt that he would ignore her like that, she was well aware that she had hurt him in the past but she never expected such treatment from him.
“Okay fine, I am sorry” she apologized thinking it would be enough for him to react but Ashton just kept eating without minding if she said anything or not. Hava stared at him hoping for just a little reaction but the aura coming off him was cold.
“What more did he want from her” she thought, it was true she had rejected him and that would give him enough reason to ignore her but wasn’t this going too far, she believed her apology was enough for him to forgive her. She was still his mate and he should have a soft spot for her rather than ignore her like that. Now she understood what it felt like when she ignored him all those times, she thought maybe that was what he was doing and she couldn’t hold herself back again.
“Ashton” she called touching his shoulders, he didn’t bulge or act like someone had touched him.
“What the hell is wrong with you, I am trying to talk to you. If this is about what had happened between us, I have already apologized” she said and he shifted his plate.
“You call that an apology” he said in baritone and she could feel fear gripped her body, she could tell he was extremely angry and she couldn’t stay closer to him, she had to shift away from him.
“You call that shitty thing you said an apology” he slowly got up from his seat.
Hava was so scared of him, she had never seen this aspect of him before and it was terrifying.
“How else do you want me to apologize, do you want me to go on my knees” she protested and he just stared at her.
“You don’t even look sorry to me” he said and took a step out.
“What is the point of acting this way when you came here for me” she said and he bluntly turned back.
Hava believed that he came for her and it couldn’t just be a coincidence.
“Came for you, can you hear yourself?” He stated. Did she dare to think that he came for her, was that why she was so bold enough to walk up to him.
“Don’t flatter yourself” he said and the look on her face turned cold.
“What do you mean?” She asked walking closer to him.
“I couldn’t care less if you were here or not, or if you were dead or not besides you are dead to me so don’t think highly of yourself” he strictly warned her and proceeded to opening the door.
Hava ran in front of him and pushed back the door,
“I am sorry for all that I did to you, I didn’t mean to reject you, please forgive me” she pleaded, she blinked her eyes at him waiting for him to change his mind but his face was as cold as ever.
“You are only saying that because you didn’t get the life you wanted here, I am not here for you Hava so act like you haven’t seen me because I would do the same”
Each word Ashton let out of his mouth hurt her, was this how she was to him? She asked herself again.
“I cannot act that way when you are my mate” she objected.
“So now I am your mate” Ashton couldn’t believe his ears, how could she just change words like that, she looked so cheap to him.
“You have the guts to say that after you rejected me” He lashed out on her and she was startled by his outburst, his eyes had turned red and she felt he could harm her any minute for what she had just said.
“I am sorry for rejecting you, I still acknowledge you as my mate” she stated.
With her life being a misery in Alpha Reid’s pack maybe he could be the ray of hope she never had and wished for.
“Well I don’t, you are nothing to me” he harshly let out those words and Hava almost cried, it hurt so much for him to act this way to her, she knew she had been cruel to him but he didn’t have to take his revenge on her this way. Why come closer to her when he didn’t want her, all these didn’t make any sense to her, she had thought he came to the pack so that he could be with her and persuade her to accept him, she tried to make it much easier for him by apologizing but it seemed what she thought was completely wrong and he didn’t come for her.
“Why are you doing this to me” she cried right in front of him but he didn’t flinch. He held her hand and she raised her head up thinking he had soften because of her tears.
“Get the fuck out of my way you bitch” he pulled her out of his path and walked out on her. Hava was distraught and fell to the ground sobbing, her heart ached so much that she wished the ground could swallow her and take away her pain.
