Alpha Reid sat quietly in his office when Rebecca barged in, he wondered why she would do such a thing because it was unlike her to barge into his office like that.
"Speak" he commanded.
"Don't you think it is unfair to me to make Lily the Luna, I mean I came before her so I deserve the title" She said pacing back and forth in his office.
"Where is this coming from?" He asked her trying to hold in his anger.
"I just thought about it, just because she is pregnant doesn't give you the right to make her your Luna" she answered.
Alpha Reid got up mad,
"Are you talking to me about rights in my own pack, if you really want to be the Luna why didn't you bear a child for me, now that she has done it, you are jealous about it" he raised his voice loudly at her.
"If it were that easy then I would have done it but what I am saying is that it is not fair to give a title that is mine to her" She muttered.
Rebecca felt hurt that a young girl she had taken care of when she was brought by Alpha Reid to the pack would be the same person to take her title from her.
"So how come she is pregnant and you are not, don't let me loose my anger on you Rebecca, you are supposed to be the most reasonable of them all.
There is no such thing as who came first, as far as you bear me an heir then I would do anything.
Your time has passed Rebecca so leave before I do something cruel to you" He warned holding the table tightly to stop himself from bursting out in a fit of rage.
"I won't go anywhere until you reconsider what I have just said and make me the Luna.
You can keep the child as your heir but I want my rightful position in this pack" Rebecca refused to leave, she sat down on the chair crossed her legs in front of him and folded her arms, she had vowed not to leave unless he decides to listen to her and give her a title she has so much desired.
Alpha Reid couldn't hold it in anymore, he flipped the table to the side and grabbed her neck lifting her up and against the wall.
"Do you think you have some sort of say in this pack just because you were the first woman I brought, you are nothing to me and will always be nothing as far as you can bear me an heir.
I didn't bring you here so that you can dictate what I should and shouldn't do, I am the Alpha and you are just a mistress who can't bear me an heir" he roared at her angrily.
How dare she try to tell him what to do, it was his decision to make the mother of his child the Luna and she had no right to tell him otherwise.
"Alpha you are choking me" she tapped his hand to let her go.
"The next time you try or even think of opposing my decisions then I will behead you in front of the whole pack making you as an example why i shouldn't be messed with.
Is that understood?" he asked and she nodded her head in fear that he might kill her if she refused to listen to him.
"Alpha" a soft voice Rebecca now hated so much spoke, she turned her head to see Lily with a smile on her face.
"You shouldn't get mad at her like that, what you should be more concerned about is the child we will be bringing into this world, such trivial matters like her shouldn't matter to you" she said making Rebecca look little before her, she acted like Rebecca was an ordinary omega in the pack.
"You are right my dear Luna, I have an heir coming soon and I don't want my mind to be occupied with nothing else" he answered and let go of Rebecca.
He sat on his chair and asked Lily to sit on his laps,
"Tell me, was the baby eager to meet his father?" Alpha Reid asked forgetting all about Rebecca who just stood there gasping for air while watching them.
"I was the one who wanted to meet you, there have been rumors around the pack house that I shouldn't be the Luna and Rebecca deserved it, I just wanted to know if you think the same way because I can give the title to Rebecca if you want" She said in a sly and Alpha Reid totally bought the act but Rebecca just knew that she was acting and wanted to show her that the Alpha choosed her to be the Luna.
"Who are those sprouting out such nonsense, you are the only woman who deserves to be my Luna because you are the one who bore my child. I can never think of anyone else who deserved the title, only you my dear" he answered easily fooled by her.
Lily turned to Rebecca and gave her a disdainful eye, Rebecca was displeased by what Alpha Reid had said that she stormed out of his office.
"I am glad you think that way because I was beginning to think that I don't deserve it" Lily spoke.
"It is all yours my dear Luna" he stated making her smile, she had just proven to Rebecca that she didn't matter to the Alpha and that she held the mantle and was more superior to her.
Lily returned back to her room to see Richard already waiting for her.
"What are you doing here?" She asked shocked to see him.
"I needed to talk to you" he said taking a step closer to her.
"You shouldn't be here, what if someone had seen you" she panicked,
She wondered what could have happened if the Alpha decided to follow her to her room.
"I was careful" he said and pulled her to sit on the bed,
"I had second thoughts about the conversation we had last time and I have made a final decision" he said.
"What is it?" She listened carefully to what he had to say.
"Let's leave this pack, we can run away together and start a new family just you and I and the baby.
We are getting too deep into this and the consequences of our actions will be huge" He said.
It wasn't his decision to lie to the Alpha about the child but because she had done it, he put the responsibility on him also because he loved her.
"Where would we go to?" She asked unwilling to leave the good life she was in.
"Anywhere but this place, I can't stay another day knowing that I could be punished and I could lose you and my child if the truth eventually slips out" He expressed his concerns, being a father made him very protective of his child and he wanted to make sure that his child would be safe and sound but mostly he didn't want the Alpha to have a claim over his child.
"But we are okay here, the Alpha doesn't suspect a thing and no one knows about us.
If we escape now then we will be haunted because the Alpha thinks I am carrying his child and would never let me run away with our child which he thinks is his.
If we eventually get caught then you will be killed for trying to elope with me and taking his heir" Lily gave her own reason.
She was already too deep into the lie that she couldn't just elope and run away from it all, it would raise suspicions and she would also be running for her life.
"But the child is not his, the child is mine" he let out.
Richard was tired of having to watch the Alpha claim the child was his own, he couldn't bare to have another man claim what was his even if it was the Alpha.
"Yes the child is yours but you can't leave like that, running away would not solve this" Lily answered when she heard a knock on the door.
"Lily are you in?" Alpha Reid asked standing outside the door.
Her heart skipped when she heard his voice, she was scared beyond wits that she froze.
"Lily" Alpha Reid called again.
She snapped out of it and hid Richard in the closet, her clothes could mask his scent and he wouldn't know that he was in the room.
She scanned her room to be sure that it was safe and then opened the door,
"Alpha Reid, how may I help you?" She asked while he walked into her room,
"Were you speaking to someone, I heard voices?" He said peaking his eyes around.
"No, I was actually talking to the baby and making baby voices, it helps relieve me"she easily covered up and he bought it.
"Oh okay"
"So what brings you here Alpha?" She asked again.
"I just wanted to know if you want a Luna ceremony to announce to the whole pack, just came to get your opinion"he said.
Lily was completely dumbfounded, was he really asking for her opinion, the Alpha she knew never cared about others and always made decisions himself, she was so stunned that he would ask her that.
"If I want,
You are asking me?" she was too startled to actually answer him.
"You can take your time to think about it" he said and then left the room.
Richard came out of the closet to find her still in a daze about what the Alpha had asked her, he also had never expected that and was shocked about it.
"Lily" he called her,
"Pinch me please" she said.
Richard pinched her cheeks and she cried out,
"This is real" she said smiling.
"You aren't actually thinking about accepting his offer, are you?"
Richard saw how happy she was and he was jealous about it, he felt like he was in a competition with the Alpha and he was already losing.
"No, why would I?
I was just surprised that's why I reacted that way" she answered him.
"This is the reason why I want us to leave, you are getting too much attention from the Alpha" Richard said.
"I know and I will think about it, just give me three days.
And please don't sneak into my room again, we almost got caught" she stated recalling how she almost crashed thinking the Alpha would figure out about Richard.
"How do we meet then?" He asked sadly.
"I will come to you in the next three days and give you my answer" she caresssed his face and gave him a light kiss.
"I will be waiting for you" he replied and snuck out of the room.
