Richard stared at Lily and she begged him to not say the truth.
"I am asking you a question?" Alpha Reid stated demanding his submission to him.
Richard had no choice than to tell the truth because he had been compelled to.
"Yes, she is carry my child" he confirmed and the crowd was thrown in a state of chaos.
Alpha Reid didn't know how to respond as he stood there frozen, everything he once knew and thought was actually a lie. There he was thinking he had an heir of his own not knowing he was being deceived by both his guard and his mistress.
"He is lying, I am carrying the Alpha's child" Lily yelled.
In the face of the truth she still wanted to maneuver her way, she couldn't bear to let Rebecca win, she had struggled so much to keep the truth from everyone and make her way towards being the Luna.
She walked towards the Alpha and held his hand,
"Believe me Alpha, the child is really yours" she lied to his face even after Richard had told him the whole truth.
Alpha Reid turned to her with dark eyes, he grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up strangling her.
When Richard saw it, he was so scared that she might actually be killed by the Alpha that he went down on his knees.
"Punish me Alpha but please set her free. It is not her fault, I made her do it" Richard stated. He was still madly in love with Lily that he wished to take all the blame just to save her. From the looks of things, she was about to die in the hands of Alpha Reid and he needed to do something to save her from his grasp.
Lily might be stubborn and had brought this upon herself but he couldn't watch her suffer.
"Do you think I am not going to punish you?" Alpha Reid asked.
He now hated the guts of the guard in front of him, he never knew Richard could betray him in such manner because his father had served his own father and there was no conflict between them. He had the same trust in him because he thought he would be just like his father but instead he went into one of his women and got her pregnant, they made a fool out of him by making him believe it was his child.
"Please spare her Alpha" he pleaded, the look on his face was full of regret and affection for Lily. Alpha Reid could see how much he loved Lily and he hated it. He hated to know that he wasn't the father of the child. He hated him for taking away the happiness he once thought he had.
Alpha Reid dropped Lily to the ground breathing heavily as he stared at Richard. The beta had ushered everyone out leaving only them in the hall.
"Do you realize the offense you have committed?" Alpha Reid asked him and he bent his head down in shame. Indeed he knew the offense he had committed, he knew it right from the moment he fell in love with Lily but he just couldn't help it.
"Answer me" he yelled at him.
"Yes Alpha, I know I deserved to be punished for what I have done but I beg you Alpha to spare her life and the life of my child" Richard pleaded with him.
Even in the face of death, He still believed it was his duty to protect his family, if that would be the last thing he would do before he dies, he wanted to be certain that Lily and his child would be safe when he gone.
Lily watched him with a sorry expression, she could see how much he was trying to keep her alive despite the situation they were in. She never knew he loved her so much that he could take all the blame even though what was happening to them was actually her fault.
"Your child, you expect me to spare the child's life after what you have done" Alpha Reid yelled ready to kill him at the spot but the Beta held him. How dare he mention 'his child' to his face after what they had done to him.
Gamma Ashton was about to join him when he suddenly stopped, he looked at Hava and was reminded that she was pregnant too, there was no difference between him and Richard, they had both taken the women of the Alpha. Ashton might be able to use the excuse that him and Hava were mates but that wouldn't change anything because he had committed a grievous sin.
He just stood there without doing anything while the Beta held him back.
"Killing him now would not mean anything, he would have a swift death and that is not what he deserves" the Beta whispered to him but Alpha Reid pushed him off him.
"I'm fine" he said.
He walked up to Richard and punched him hard to the ground, he picked him again about to beat him up some more when Ashton and the Beta grabbed him pulling him back.
Alpha Reid pushed them off him again and stood still.
"Lock them up until I decide what to do to them" He ordered and left the hall.
The guard grabbed Richard and a pregnant Lily out of there, Rebecca glared at Hava as if giving her a warning sign.
'If you dare mess with me then this also will happen to you' she said through the mind link and walked. she was glad she was able to stop the coronation after all now Lily would never have to be Luna, she had no one else struggling the title with her and she sought to keep it that way.
Alpha Reid marched to his room confused and distraught, his whole day was a complete mess and he just couldn't believe how he had gotten to such point.
He paced around his room wondering what exactly to do, he felt stupid, he had been played by them and he didn't even notice it.
Rebecca had once insinuated it to him but he wouldn't listen because he thought she was just scheming ways to get what she wanted.
"Is the curse really working?" He asked himself. Could the curse his mate placed on him before she died really be working. Why was it so hard for him to have an heir even when he had seven women.
Because he was so desperate to have a child, he was so gullible to believe the lies he was told.
"No, it can't be working" he doubted.
Alpha Reid believed his dead mate was supposed to give him an heir and her body was his to take, he never thought that the curse placed on him could actually work.
He looked at himself in the mirror and all he could see was his reflection shaking his head in disapproval of him.
"You are such a disgrace, your father would be so ashamed of you, not only were you not able to produce an heir but you were so gullible enough to let yourself be deceived by them" his reflection said to him.
"Shut up" he warned, he knew exactly how he felt inside and he didn't want anyone else to rub it off on him. It might be his imagination getting the better of him by making him feel pathetic and weak.
"What kind of Alpha would let his chief guard deceive him in such manner, you are not worthy to be an Alpha, you should be impeached for such nonsense and the title be stripped from you" his reflection continued taunting him,
He clenched his fists in anger by hearing those words, he was damn right, what kind of Alpha would actually let his subject deceive him to such point.
He was so close to making Lily the Luna all because he thought that she was carrying his child, he had promised to make the child the Alpha of the pack oblivious that the child wasn't his and he was being played by them.
He was lied to his face countless times and he couldn't even see it.
"Rebecca had warned you but your eagerness got the better of you, if it weren't for her then you would have been lost thinking the child is yours.
Maybe she should be Alpha instead of you, you are just useless and pathetic to be the Alpha" his reflection added pissing him off.
He had Rebecca to thank for helping him know the truth, if it weren't for her then he would still be blinded by a lie.
"I said shut the fuck up" he warned.
"Oh come on, don't you want to hear more of how stupid you are, how foolish and selfish you acted. Your father had raised you to be strict, to be much better than this.
You have eight women at your disposal, one dead though because of you making it seven but yet none of them is able to give you a child.
You are better off dead than being an Alpha with no heir" his reflection continued making him feel worse. He could like he was a complete and total waste.
He closed his eyes to get rid of it but when he opened his eyes, he saw his father.
"How long are you going to be a Shame to me, you couldn't give me a grandchild when I was alive and neither could you do that now that I am gone" his father's voice was full of disappointment for him.
"But Father..." he tried to plead but the reflection instantly changed.
"I had told you that you could never bear a child" His dead mate said.
"You witch" he cursed wishing to be able to grab her neck and make her reverse the curse she had placed on him.
"This is all your fault not mine" she laughed hysterically.
"You can never have an heir" she yelled.
"Shut the fuck up" he smashed the mirror to pieces in anger, he didn't want to see her face because it reminded him of what he did to her.
The door to his room opened and Rebecca walked in wearing a white robe,
"What do you want?" He asked, he thought she had come to tell him that she had already warned him before but he wouldn't listen to her, he couldn't bear to hear that from her too so he got mad by her presence.
"I am here to help you ease your pain your anger" she said.
"And how do you intend on doing that" he asked.
Rebecca took off her robe and was completely naked in front of him, his eyes peaked when he saw her, her robust breast with hard nipples, her perfect shape and he could see the front of her wet folds.
