The Alpha's Lantern Mate Chapter 11

Scarlett

“Are you ready, honey?” Aunt Rachel shouted at the top of her lungs from downstairs and the next moment, I found someone knocking on my door. I rolled my eyes before opening the door, assuming Sasha with her stupid friends.

“Morning, Scar,” Chloe said cheekily before pulling me in a quick hug and I couldn’t help myself but frown. It’s been days since I went into my first heat and sneaked out of Klaus’s house and after two days, the heat receded and I started training, though I hid everything from Rachel and she didn't force me to tell her where I was that night.

Chloe wasn’t enough so Avalon also joined us in a bone-crushing embrace and I looked at the roof ceilings and asked the Moon Goddess for mercy. These girls would kill me from the lack of air in my lungs.

I pleaded with my eyes to Sasha to get them away from me, her friends have been fangirling me because everyone got to know that Klaus and I were friends.

That’s what he told everyone because he was too ashamed to accept me as his mate. And I didn't bother with his lie. I couldn't care less about my mate who didn't even want me. I wondered why he didn't reject me instead?!

Girls wanted me to help them with getting one chance with Klaus which was pure torture for me as I was his mate and those poor girls were asking for help from his mate who couldn’t help but plan to murder these bitches somehow to protect her mate.

The two sides of me played with my mind and I felt annoyed with myself. Half of me wanted him to reject me while the other part of me wanted to claim him as mine.

“Okay, girls. Let her breath and move aside,” Sasha smirked before dragging them away. “We’re getting late for the training. Let’s head to the packhouse.”

Heaving a sigh of relief, I descended the stairs, and as usual, Rachel handed me the bottle of water and Greg gave a small peck on his daughter’s head before leaving first. My parents didn’t even call me since the day I had moved here maybe they were feeling at ease, not having to see the murderer of their daughter daily.

We strolled towards the packhouse and parted our ways while entering the ground as they would be with the other pack members and I would have to go to the front as I was the trainer.

“Good morning, Letty,” Marcus greeted me, flashing me a smile and I released a long breath before rolling my eyes.

“How badly I wish I could say that, too,” I said, joining him for the further walk. He was the only one who didn’t make me feel uncomfortable except Sasha. From what he had told me, he was Klaus’s cousin. Klaus’s mother and Marcus’s mother are sisters but both boys had some daddy issues so Marcus left his father’s house and moved here in childhood.

I didn’t want to intrude on their privacy so I avoided asking questions about what kind of daddy issues though I had an idea of Klaus’s father, he hated me for sure and probably knew that I was his mate so he was avoiding coming to the training or which Alpha would do that!.

Marcus landed his hand on my shoulder. “Soon, Letty.” He called me by the nickname my family used to call me and I couldn’t help but miss them. Especially Rhea.

“Missing family?” He asked, suppressing his lips guiltily.

“What the fu-k. How did you get to know?” I gasped, shooting him a glare mockingly. Somehow he always got what was running in my mind, it was surprising but that’s how best friends get you when no one understands you.

“My hidden talent,” he whispered, leaning closer to my ear and we both started cackling.

We heard someone clearing his throat so we turned to see the person and a scowl emerged on my face seeing Klaus folding his arms, crossed over his chest. He was wearing a black vest with black track pants, his sleeveless vest made him look hotter. The veins on his forearms popped out and his perfect muscular arms made me gulp.

“For once, can you be punctual?” He barked, ogling at my tracksuit.

I ignored him completely and took a step ahead as if he wasn’t standing there and didn’t say anything. Marcus mumbled, “you are pissing him off, girl. Watch out.” He warned me and I shrugged casually, not giving a fu-k about his cousin.

“Let’s get paired today to practice one on one fighting,” I announced and gestured to Marcus to take the position of fighting so we could start first and teach the other pack members how to do it.

But before Marcus could reach me, Klaus surpassed him and stood next to me. “All the pack members should get paired with their mates and those who haven’t found their mates, get paired with your friends.” He ordered in his Alpha voice and a smirk played on the corner of his lips.

“We aren’t mates, are we?” Quirking a brow, I sneered, peering deeply into his captivating eyes. With that, I gained everyone’s attention as I spoke loudly enough to be heard by everyone.

All the pack members were looking in our direction and he took his fighting position before saying, “I’m the Alpha so I should test your skills, shouldn’t I? And we're friends, aren't we?” He challenged me and I inundated my punches at him in response.

I didn’t expect him to dodge every punch and be as quick as me. All the Alphas had the same issue, they were so tall and muscular that they lacked speed. And that was my plus point as I was short and skinny, maybe I should start eating more meat.

He launched himself at me as I got distracted by his clenched jaw, his jawline lured me to have a touch and taste him. The sweat tripped his face as we fought for a good couple of minutes before I found him smirking and it fueled my anger so I kicked him in the stomach and besides being an Alpha, he fell backward and stumbled with the mattress.

Surely it would have hurt but he showed no sign of pain, he didn’t even hiss but stood up quickly, glaring at me with a victorious smirk as if he had won.

His smirk pissed me more so before he could begin with his moves, I leaped in the air and punched him in the face but he caught my hand and I lost my balance so I closed my eyes in anticipation to fall to the ground.

Klaus held my hand and my other hand landed on the ground so I used his hand as my strength to stand up and without wasting a second, I whirled and adopted my posture to fight again.

Lunging forward, he punched in my stomach which caused me to fall backward and this time, he didn’t save me as before.

Alright. So now we were having a real fight. I winced in pain but when my eyes fell on Chloe and Avalon who were holding towels and my bottle of water for their Alpha, I stood up in no time and stretched my arm out to slap him instead of punching him.

He twisted my hand and turned me upfront, his chest pressing against my back. Friction with his body awakened the hot desires in me but I slaughtered them and used my twisted hand to punch him in his stomach with full force which caused him to loosen his grip on my hand and I turned myself before kicking him in the abdomen.

His giant body was knocked down to the floor. Gliding on him, I grabbed his neck and blocked his air pipe so he wouldn't be able to breathe and my weight on his body wouldn't let him stand up.

“Does it hurt, my Alpha?” I mocked, smirking at him.
